My top five must haves?
1-money
2-money
3-more money
4-even more money
5-even more money
😂
here is a tip for people who dont have the room for triple monitor's go get a single Ultrawide 21:9 or a Super Ultrawide 32:9 monitor that will save on having a bulky 3 monitor stand, I switched to 21:9 and now I cant go back to 16:9 as feels to small no matter the screen size.
Definitely! Went from 16:9, to 21:9 then settled on curved 32:9.
It's great for immersion! Thanks to the ergotron hx arm I have it placed at about 60cm from me and as I've to used the desk for other stuff, I can push it back and use the desk as normal (my rig is on wheels)
I've not tried a triple screen but the depth of field and sense of speed from VR makes cornering way more natural
Definitely! VR offers an immersive experience, making cornering feel more natural. It provides a wider field of view and enhances spatial awareness, aiding in precise maneuvers. Personal preferences may vary, but both VR and triple screens have their advantages. Enjoy your racing and thanks for watching!
@@AnomieDomine After switching to VR, I just can't go back! But then this applies for all games in VR for me. 🤣
One thing that really helped me was Sim 3D rumble kit for pedals. A DDU is also a must-have but I saved a ton of money using an eBay ($25) iPad mini and a DIY mount.
My list includes a high quality round wheel. I like shifting with my H pattern and sequential shifter as much as paddle shifters. I only use the H pattern and sequential shifter with my round wheel.
Wicked video and really nice gear!
I have Slip-Angle bass shakers and love them, so I totally agree with you on getting something to add vibration.
Triples, DDU and my VPG VRSPG Pro wheel are among the top. But bass shaker is up there as well.. You are on point with this list 😊
Thanks for sharing your picks.
Butt kicker or any shaker .
Dayton makes one, too.
Driving gloves .
Cool seat belts , all adds to realistic
Fanetec v3 pedals , so good ,
I love how they shake when i lose grip.
Unfortunately, I first need to win the lottery to afford all of that, but great video. Keep up the good work and your number of views will rise!
Thanks for watching!
Yes, I'd say the $799 LCD screen is probably overkill. Especially when you could literally buy a 3D printer, a good LCD, and everything else you need to build your own, and still have money left over for other things.
Perfect timing. I'm in the process of getting the Sim DDU 6.8" and run the LovelySimRacing UI on it. I do need the bezel free kit so your code will come in handy. I'm also looking at the Slip-Angle spring mounted Transducer kit. I just picked up the Elagato Stream Deck as well
Nice! LovelySim is such a great dash template! I’ve been curious about those spring mounted transducer kits too.
@@simracingden
The reviews I've seen have been very positive, however the transducers output may not be as good as ButtKicker though.
I prefer the BK's but just can't warrant the $1000+ price tag when that could be put towards the motion setup I want.
i think my top must have is a sim dash, rather its in the wheel or a display. the added information is needed
Good top. I would just push bass shakers instead of buttkicker. For less money you can have 2 or even more, so you can allocate more precisely the effects, get stereo effect...
Thanks yes good point! I actually run two ButtKicker pros front and rear to separate effects but there are other ways to achieve this for less money too.
I use sim dashboard on both an old phone and tablet rather than a DDU, for the price you can't really go wrong. Same with stream deck, I use another tablet with touch portal. Don't get physical buttons with feedback so not as viable for VR use and has a bit more setting up to do but again for the cost you can't go wrong. 25 bucks and I have hundreds of dash layouts and essentially a stream deck with 100 buttons.
Does require you to have a few spare devices to run all these things though so probably not worth it unless you have them.
Overload!!! Many very good points to be aware of when starting my sim life in F1
WOW "I'm also looking at the Slip-Angle spring mounted Transducer kit. I just picked up the Elagato Stream Deck as well"
I thought music was my second language. Gr8tD3cepti0n you have learned this language.
6:20 that thing where you connect the wheel coiled cable at…? That left thing right next to button box…What is that specific and the wheel isn’t like a round thing with usb ?
That’s the power injector box for my GRID wheels. It connects to the wheel via a six-pin Lumberg coiled cable; then, the box connects to the PC via USB and to a power supply.
Is the porsche text a sticker on the DDU? Can it be removed?
No it can't be removed. The glass has the Porsche logo silkscreened on it.
hi... Can you assign functions such as TC +-, ABS +-, seat up down, ffb + -, etc... to that Stream Deck Plus rotaries?
No unfortunately you can’t it only allows for the built in stream deck plugins like volume control or brightness of the device.
@@simracingden ok thanks!!! 👍🙌 ... Then, not for me 😞
@@Dani_Jari YES, you can assign any key to the left/right/push functions of each button, and swipe the display to change the functions assigned to each button
Would it be accurate to say just get VR instead of triple screen for people who don’t get motion sickness?
It depends, VR is not for everyone; I personally prefer the ease of use and comfort of triple screens, but VR, on the other hand, provides the ultimate immersion for sure.
Something you didn't mention is a wind simulator. It's surprising how much immeresion you get from one. Kind of like the Buttkicker, I immediately notice if my wind simulator isn't turned on. I DIYed mine, but there are lots of kits available also.
A wind simulator of some kind is definitely on my wishlist 😉
are those 27inch or 32inch monitiors?
32”
Quick question the fan on the screen where did you get this 2:27
Thats actually not a fan its the Razer Kiyo Pro Ultra Webcam.
@@simracingden thanks for the reply I’m an idiot lol
@@StaticAvalanche no worries haha. It does kind of look like a fan.
Any sim racer must buy a 3D printer. We all need some little modifications ye? :D
and depends to your knowledge.. in internet you can learn anything.. even how to build a motion seat.
Yes certainly a 3D printer could prove very useful for sim racers looking to modify or customize their rig. I’ve often considered one.
@@simracingdenEvery day I discover something new that I could make.!
Omg can you please tell how much they cost
The product links are all in the description below.
You should title this video "The stuff I want to sell to you"
my dream is a a sim rig but cant afford one
Hope you can make that dream a reality one day.
@@simracingden thanks
This is all VERY high end and sort of experienced/established sim racer vibes. Your video should say NOT for beginners.
Fair enough, you are right. These are not all beginner-friendly; I just shared my personal must-haves after using different hardware. Thanks for the comment and watching!
If you've got the budget then try it? Man's recommending you just try a nearly 1500 dollar wheel like it's a whim purchase. Also with the way he spoke about it it really sounds like a sponsorship which is not being disclosed. Notice he says "since I acquired it from Grid" making it ambiguous as to if he purchased it himself or if it was given to him as part of a deal. Not sure the FTC would approve of this behaviour.
I appreciate your concern regarding the cost of the Grid MPX Wheel and the importance of transparency in sponsorships/collaborations. I assure you that I always disclose when a product has been sent for review, and in this case, the wheel was purchased by me. I understand that a $1500 wheel isn’t within everyone’s budget, which is why I aim to review a variety of hardware across different price points in my videos.
@@simracingden I appreciate you taking the time to clear things up. +1
"entry level high-end" "balance between affordability and high-end features"
my brother in Christ that is an $1100 wheel. between Moza, Fanatec, and Asetek there is only 1 wheel that costs more. in fact, there's only 1 wheel that comes within $400 of it, and it's the actual wheel they use in BMW GT3 cars. what about that says affordable at all?
Everyone’s idea of affordable is different I guess 🤷🏻♂️
@@simracingden What makes that an entry level wheel?
