I love how much Andrew's Spidey uses his webs and the environment around him in his fights - imo his movements and actions feel the most spider-like out of all of them
I genuinely love all three versions of Spider-Man. I think they all brought their own unique qualities to the character, but Andrew was always my favorite. After No Way Home, I hope the producers are smart enough to give Andrew his long overdue third film!
Same, like a lot of people grew up with the Sam Raimi movies and a lotta people ALSO grew up with the MCU, so most people are going to be naturally inclined to like their first Spiderman the most. TASM didn't come out when comic book movies were doing well though, it was in the most awkward place imaginable, audiences didn't want it, the execs didn't care and the vision was all over the place. I ain't one to say TASM and TASM 2 are good movies, they kinda aren't, I like them, but you can tell they were probably the least thought out or the least focused of all of the films, but Garfield almost single handedly saves them, the best scenes this movie has are the ones like this where it's very spidey focused, he really is the best of both worlds when it comes to the character, he's confident and cocky like Spiderman should be, but they do not shirk away from the fact that Peter is foremost a science kid and a bit of an awkward dork. Like, by far my favourite scene in these movies is Peter making his web fluid, Andrew so perfectly captures Peter Parker the character in those scenes.
Peter parker IS a kid when he becomes spiderman lol.. Imo Toby was good as peter but bad as spiderman. Andrew is good at Spiderman but not great at peter. Tom pulls off both sides fairly well.
Andrew Garfield’s spider man is the only one that ever made me cry in theatres. I was 7 for Toby’s and an adult for Tom’s. This saga doesn’t have great reviews, but I enjoyed them.
Man, that kid in the hanging car scene was so touching... If you pay attention, the dialogue he had with the kid helped saving his life more than the powers of spidey. "Put on the mask, it's gonna make you strong".
To me, Andrew is just the most spot on comic accurate Spidey, from the physical appearance to the quips and everything, his acting just screams « Ultimate Spider-Man »
I have a special place in my heart for the Raimi movies. And the MCU version of Spider-Man is good within that universe. But the Andrew Garfield Spider-Man is the closest to the comics in my opinion. In retrospect I can see how much respect the filmmakers and actors had for this character.I didn’t love the Amazing Spider-Man when it came out, but watching it again opened my eyes to how good it was.
In general Amazing Spider Man I & II are pretty bad. But, Andrew's Spider Man, yes, it's very good, being the most faithful to the comics or not (because the basis of a good Spider Man movie is not just that). I love these scenes particularly but the movies in general didn't help much
i really wish sony would reboot andrew's version of spiderman. cant believe they cancelled it in the first place. way to underrated. I think some people just have their rose tinted glasses on for the original Raimi films, or they just love tom holland, but this darker version of spiderman is so much more interesting. Andrew's spider man holds back a lot less than Toby or Tom's spider man, and hearing how he describes himself in no way home after Gwen's death all I can say is may God help his enemies and please Sony give us another amazing Spider-Man move
In my opinion, Andrew's Spiderman was by far the most charismatic one, and I don't just mean it as in "he was always charismatic". He starts off arrogant and quite a bit egotistic, really making you feel he had a way to go and even after Ben's death his reasons for doing good were still self-centered. Which only makes these scenes, the ones where he saves the kid from the car and the one where he talks to Electro to calm him down, to not unleash his anger on the civilians, more impactful to me. He is charismatic by nature, but in the beginning that charisma is overshadowed by egotism as to show his growth over time.
We also won't mention that Peter hit Flash with his shoulder to put Flash on floor on purpose!!! With his super speed Peter could have easily moved around him but instead he chose to go "through him"!!!! Lol!!!
Here is how i see it. During Tobey’s days, they had problems with how the action sequences played and the CGI didn’t gel well with the practical effects. When Andrew came, they had the balance done right and it felt like where his powers should be. Now comes Tom. They overdid it. He’s overpowered and then had to add all those gadgets. That’s why watching this is great. Garfield hit the perfect spot where his powers should be and how it looked.
I've never been the biggest Spiderman fan myself, but i think the problem many had with the Andrew movies was not with him, but with the movies overall. They're really not good movies, far too much effort went into going over the top, especially with the 2nd one that everything suffers from time devoted to each thing. They say a hero is only as good as their villain (which is not always accurate but lets roll with it) and the villain in the 1st movie was ok but generally just felt like a worse rehearse of the green goblin but with a lizard theme and original movie and then the 2nd movie didn't get enough time or weights for anyone to shine. That's probably why it's so easy for people nowdays to go back and support Andrew, because there's nothing wrong with the part he played in those movies.
The first two scenes shown here he's the bad guy. In the first one he attacks them unnecessarily, seemingly just because the director wanted an excuse to show a lady in her underwear. In the second he harasses a basketball player for having the audacity to play basketball on the court, choosing to white knight for someone who simply shouldn't have been doing her art in such a ridiculous location.
@@adamrobinson6951 It seems like you didn’t pay attention to these scenes whatsoever. The guy put the beer bottle on Peter first which caused him flip onto the roof and freak out. Then by doing that the beer got on the girl and he tried to apologize but his hand was stuck to her shirt showing he can’t control his powers. Then they try to assault him because his hand was stuck to her shirt which wasn’t his fault. All he did was defend himself against four guys. And no he didn’t harass a basketball player for playing basketball. He smacks the ball towards her and knocks down the paint then she gets mad saying he did it on purpose and flash literally says “no, but I should’ve.” Finally right after that flash smacks the ball to the same spot again😂. This is what prompts Peter to mess with him back. He didn’t do it for no reason. Pay attention next time.
I honestly think the Andrew did an amazing job with these movies, and not saying Rhys did a bad job as Dr. Connors, I just think the villain choice / how they did the villain kind of ruined the movie. Overall I think the acting was amazing though.

Christian bale is undoubtedly the majority favorite of the movie batmans. Adam west and Conroy are super beloved, but because the shows and so different from the movies you can't really compare the two to the rest of them

Andrew’s Peter was so amazing he bullied the school bully. In my opinion Peter Parker should be the nerd that is never noticed and bullied instead of the other way around. Its what made his comic version relatable because most people fall into that category as well to some extend. You could say Tobey’s Spidey was whiney but he had that nerdy persona down to the point. Andrew’s Peter… just doesnt feel like Peter
I'd say its pretty close to the original Peter. He was a smart outcast, who didn't care about anyone around him except for the ones he loved when he first got his powers.

Toby is the best Peter, Garfield is the best Spiderman and Holland is a middle ground between the two. The biggest issue I have with live action spiderman is the non expressive mask. Comic spidey's eyes changed as if they were alive and while I like the MCU solution to this I would actually be happy to just have them move in Garfield's movies and it not be explained, it's a comic book movie, and not everything has to make sense.
