What would be kinda cool with this cinematic universe as opposed to the MCU for instance would be that many different artists are contributing with their own styles with no executive meddling rather than a universe of cookie-cutter formulaic movies made by one company.
How could a voice actor lend their talents to this project? Cat-Man looks fantastic and I cannot wait to see it! This entire idea is wonderful and I am so on board for this. :)

When I was younger me and my brother used to make up our own superheroes like every kid does. It's been about 15 years since then and we've managed to write down most of our best character ideas and come up with (in my opinion) some decent story arc's. One day we're hoping to turn it into some kind of long form graphic novel but if I woke up tomorrow with a few billion dollars, I know exactly what I would do with it.

This whole idea is fascinating. I once scrolled through the public domain of superheroes to find a character to write a short story about... but you took it to another level and I respect that
I've never been so proud of strangers on YT like I am now. Of you and everyone, people who backed the kickstarter, the creative partners for the other projects; it is truly inspiring. It reminded me that my creative endeavors are worth it, even when they seem "silly". Thank you Austin and everyone in this community.
The SuperZeroes... I'll take your entire stock. What you said towards the end hits so hard for me right now as I'm currently working on a story that at first started off as a book title but now I'm really interested in making it into a script for... possibly an animated show but that's just all in my head. This whole universe you've created looks amazing and I can't wait to see it grow
I hope that you don't undercut their heroics too much Make them silly, and cheesy and goofy But I honestly have had enough of "superheroes are bad actually" lately So I hope these superzeroes are still honest people, trying to fight the good fight for themselves and each other.
Like people don't even get the purpose of characters like Superman the stakes aren't can he beat the bad guy of course he can the stakes are can he save everyone
I’m genuinely so hyped. 6 Gun Gorilla is my favorite of the bargain bin heroes I love that he’s being shown this early I hope this universe is successful. Also so impressed by how you made these characters look cool. All the designs are awesome
I'm actually working on the script for a live-action microbudget public domain superhero movie myself! I hope to make it this year and I'm very grateful you've created more of an audience for these types of movies, which will hopefully allow my movie to get funded easier when the kickstarter launches.
I love how this is the literal opposite of a hype video. I’m still super curious and excited in that “can’t wait to see how this weird thing goes” way but I can say the bar is so low 😂 Edit: oh I ADORE the look of Catman!
Honestly this is one of the coolest things to come out of UA-cam, I saw the original video and really wanted to happen but didn't know it was going to go this far. 6 Gun Gorilla is one of the strangest, yet intriguing characters I've seen so I'm excited to see that eventually aswell
I was looking forward to Spider Queen especially, and am super stoked she's gonna get a book! I'm curious to see how many of your ideas meshed with the ones I had when hearing about her story...
I don't want to give too much away, but Austin brought some great ideas to the table that we then expanded into the plot I eventually wrote and handed back to Austin for any final tweaks. It's been one of my favourite projects I've ever worked on tbh
@@elizabethmcivorediting3030 Considering the ideas he had for the cursed child, I have complete faith. And it feels like a story that could give a lot, my brain came up with a whole story arc for a comic book in the shower that I'll probably never write because I have a series I should be working on instead :D
I never been this excited for a superhero cinematic universe for years. It’s been wild seeing Austin build an entire franchise out of metaphorical duct tape and cardboard.
The Public Domain is big and fruitful. Go for it. Like The Green Lama, Plymo the Rubber Man. The Red Bee... There are heroes, and villains, of all sizes.
I already started mine but its still just the idea of it, I have a whole Multiverse inside my head with like 100 characters, Unfinished worldbuilding and an Incomplete timeline. I wonder if I can even bring most of these Ideas into the real world.
YoungRippa would be proud. Even though these forgotten characters are already created, I'm just glad these characters will be getting more attention nowadays. Thank you so much! 👍😢
I genuinely feel excited for the stories you're set to tell. As a fan of brutality in comic books, it would be interesting to see how you try to justify the destruction that Superzeroes would cause. Moreover, the book seems to be just my cup of tea; "Spider Queen," is sure to be a hit if the story pans as well as you plan.
This is a fantastic example of what happens when people love art and artists combined with the power of the internet and modern technology. Stoked for your [truly independent] movie. Cheers.
What are the chances that if this 1st phase is successful you would continue to a phase 2? I know that what intrigues me the most about this universe is that it’s made by fellow fans for other fans, something about it being independent just makes it so much more exciting.
This idea is honestly incredible. Taking these forgotten heroes and bringing them back in their very own movies and shows that break away from the Standard superhero blockbuster formula is very refreshing. Safe to say that I’m very excited to see this when it gets fully realized! Wish you the best of luck on this journey Austin!
Wait I'm actually pumped for this, I don't care how goofy it is. Satisfies my curiosity for these zero-heroes, how a creator and his fans can create something together, and that VERY small excitement I've always had for superheroes deep down inside
I recently started working on a comic book idea and while creating my characters I vaguely remembered your original video and looked up some public domain characters for inspiration (and to possibly yank). I’m so glad your projects are coming to fruition. I can’t wait to watch!
This is genuinely an epic project to me, amateur animation has so much charm to it if there's passion involved, and this clearly has tons. I also love that it'll give at least a bit of attention to more obscure comic book characters, so many Z-grade heroes deserve more recognition for just how weird and wacky they can get.
He said he wanted it to be comparable in quality to those direct to DVD Barbie movies from the 2000s, but those had an estimated budget of around 10 million and he's trying to accomplish similar results for less than 1% of that budget, so it seems like he reeeaaally didn't do his homework before he started making promises. I'm not optimistic.
3:36 As any Gen Zer will tell you, those straight to dvd barbie movies are some of the best pieces of cinema ever created, and I have every confidence in you to reach those heights!
When he called them “really bad” there was a part of me that wanted to throw fists for a quick second 😅 yes the animation was low tier but DANG I enjoy them so much. Swan Lake, Princess and the Pauper, and Magic of Pegasus were my tops.
I'm really hoping this just spirals even further out of control and atlas does wildly well, getting a sequel, catman gets a tie in 2d animated movie, and spider queen is adapted into a movie/show.
i'd say its more than a 'cinematic' universe at this point. you've got a whole multimedia universe ready to go. can't wait to see the finished products
Finally the best Cinematic Universe is back! Jokes aside this line up is really impressive for what it started out as, I mean a movie, a cartoon and a book is an impressive feat for something that was originally just meant to be a joke.
I just went down this rabbit hole of BBCU videos, and while I'm interested in at least half the characters, the one I'm _really_ wanting to see more of is Little Red Riding Hood. The pitch from the original video that started all this sounded incredibly cool. I love the concept of Little Red, magic, reality-bending, and the whole pitch for the second half of the movie being the grand finale that brings all the characters and stories into the same setting and ties them all together. I feel kind of inspired to make my own Little Red Riding Hood story, the first part of it being, just as in the pitch, about the classic story (although with some twists and differences), with the rest of it being some wild story/stories in which she has/gains magical abilities and has to figure things out about the world and/or herself, and possibly meets other characters (maybe from other, obscure or not, fairy tales?) and wacky things happen. Whenever I think of writing a story, there are certain things that I know I want, such as an intricate world, magic in some form, an intriguing and well-thought-out plot, interesting characters, and great antagonists. There are probably some other things I can't think of right now, but those things are some of the basics I want from a story I make, and making a Little Red Riding Hood story with those elements certainly sounds like an interesting idea. Although, just like all other story ideas I've come up with at random, I probably won't do anything with this one either, but I'm putting it here just in case I end up wanting to do it. I love coming up with cool characters and epic scenes with magic and wild ideas, but I don't read books and I'm not great at actually coming up with a coherent story and putting it on paper. Anyway, back to the main topic. I hope this turns out to be a success, because I really want to see where this all goes, and I really want to see the Little Red Riding Hood concept come to life and tie together all the other BBCU/Superzeroes stuff.
Ikr? Red Riding Hood sounds like such an interesting superhero, imagine the character that your mom once read to you beating super villains up! Imagine RRH VS Baba Yaga, or the big bad wolf, So cool.
This is the commitment to the Bit that I'm always happy to see. Can't wait to see these later this year. My first thought for a Universe name was the Barginauts, but the SuperZereos is fitting
This is excellent. How is your health though, Austin? This is a big project, make sure to keep looking after yourself properly! Also, I don't know if I commented this on your original announcement video, but this reminds me so much of the team of useless superheroes and pointless or ineffective supervillains some of my colleagues and I came up with during our lunch breaks over the course of 2-3 years. We built a whole universe, complete with intricately interwoven origin stories, rivalries and (super) short stories. None of us wrote any of it down though, which I now deeply regret. It was a truly amazing collection.
This. Is. INSANE! I had a smile on my face the entire length of this video, and *Superzeros*?? That's such a perfect name!! I wish I could support this huge endeavor monetarily, but I can and will share it around :D Cannot wait to see everything that comes from this, it all looks amazing so far~
Austin, every single human being who watched the original videos wanted this project to continue. Not one dimwit thought this was a terrible idea. We're gonna be supporting you forever. Stay safe and keep up the good work!
This all sounds so cool, i saw another comment talking about a radio show about landor in the style of how they would come out in 1940, that would be so cool
If the next movie gets funded, it’d be pretty cool if you commissioned Corridor Crew to produce the script with the funds. They have a great Unreal Engine workflow and just developed a great animation technique.
I really do wish the original creators of these characters make a cameo in the movies, or even really see this as a huge appreciation for their creativity way back then 💖
i’ll be frank- i completely forgot about this. however, i am thrilled that you are still actively working on this! i love the catman’s stylized animation and i hope to see more art direction invoking the era they came from. with how many lost heroes and villains there are, i also think seeing an equivalent to the suicide squad with a motley cast of weirdos would he delightful!
This makes me so happy. From the moment the original video dropped, I knew Austin was the guy that could make this happen. I absolutely LOVE the name for the universe, too. Perfect. Is it bad that I'm more excited for this than I have been for superhero movie in a while?
I feel like you could be missing out on the absurd comedy opportunities that some of these entail. Like a straight up workout video as a post credits scene for Atlas is genuinely hilarious, and catman fighting mancat genuinely poses such opportunity for some absurdist humour and a the makings of an amazing parody film.
Man, you’re already doing what I was striving to do with my superhero universe that I’ve been writing. If you’ve got any pointers, I’d love to hear them! :)
This whole project has gotten me into reading a lot of the public domain comics. I can see why many of them went under, but some of them have some interesting potential that just got caught up in stupid plot lines or middling villains. Have you been able to take any sort of lessons on foley design? Your visuals to sound ratio has always seemed to favor visuals (Despite both being good) so that may be a good skill to pick up some tricks on.
Great to hear! As a proud backer, I look forward to seeing everything you've put together when the time is right. Keep up the fantastic work; I know it'll be fun! =] If the universe expands beyond the characters from your 2022 pitch, might I recommend a horror movie about Fantomah, Mystery Woman of the Jungle? Low-budget CGI would be perfect for unsettling or outright disturbing the audience, like Courage the Cowardly Dog did for us millennials years ago. The public domain holds so much potential for reinvented characters!
Very glad you're getting the chance to share this passion project with us. May not be your biggest or oldest fan but I've been waiting for this news nearly half a decade. Good on you Austin! (and collaborators)
Hi Austin, I'm going to sound like a total fan boy right now but your work actually helped me with my own. I am currently writing my own graphic novel and was having trouble coming up with new characters then I watched your video about how you made your own cinematic universe last year and it got me thinking and I started doing my own research on super hero's and other fictional characters in the publics domain and that solved my problem real quick. Now I'm working on a new story arc where my main protagonist has to team up with a bunch of world war II era hero's to defeat an unseen threat and escape this Valley of the Dolls meets Pleasantville scenario. Also I want to introduce my own version of Atlas including my own spin on his origins in the future. So thanks you for helping me get over my slump and I can't wait to see your movie.
I haven't watched the other videos but this is very inspirational! Seems so sincere and definitely has some passion put into it. I'll definitely be checking it out!

This is the commitment to the Bit that I'm always happy to see. Can't wait to see these later this year. My first thought for a Universe name was the Barginauts, but the SuperZereos is fitting
This series has made me start creating my own super heroes and scripts just for my own enjoyment. These videos are awesome.
LET'S GOOOO!
Honestly amazed at the support this project has gotten, Hope it all goes according to plans!
Seriously more is needed.
It was a truly amazing collection.
...I would be interested in hearing more about these useless superheroes and pointless supervillains, if you remember anything
@@cam4636 agreed, sounds interesting
@@gektoast4968 I also concur
Wow he's making a book, an animated series, and an animated movie, I am so proud of you!
I can't wait to see the Six-Gun Gorilla in all of his glory
A hero universe with realistic and relateable stakes sounds pretty great
I love that the general reason an entire cinematic universe was even started was that you were bored. I'd create one too if I had all that time.
I have the time, but I lack the good ideas.
This. Is. INSANE! I had a smile on my face the entire length of this video, and *Superzeros*?? That's such a perfect name!! I wish I could support this huge endeavor monetarily, but I can and will share it around :D
Cannot wait to see everything that comes from this, it all looks amazing so far~
Imagine if this gets picked up by like a medium sized studio
If the next movie gets funded, it’d be pretty cool if you commissioned Corridor Crew to produce the script with the funds. They have a great Unreal Engine workflow and just developed a great animation technique.
I'm unreasonably excited for all of these projects lmao. Also The Superzeroes is an amazing name!
I really do wish the original creators of these characters make a cameo in the movies, or even really see this as a huge appreciation for their creativity way back then 💖
I like that you're doing different types of media for each to keep it all fresh. Lovely and excited.
i’ll be frank- i completely forgot about this.
however, i am thrilled that you are still actively working on this! i love the catman’s stylized animation and i hope to see more art direction invoking the era they came from.
with how many lost heroes and villains there are, i also think seeing an equivalent to the suicide squad with a motley cast of weirdos would he delightful!
This makes me so happy. From the moment the original video dropped, I knew Austin was the guy that could make this happen. I absolutely LOVE the name for the universe, too. Perfect. Is it bad that I'm more excited for this than I have been for superhero movie in a while?
I like how they’re all in different forms of media, its gonna make the eventual crossover so much cooler imo
Wow. I don't know if I should be feeling excited or cringing.... that is a WEIRD feeling you've helped generate.
Thanks.
Thank you for the update!!! And the honesty! It helps us to manage our expectations.
I like how this universe is basically a parody of other cinematic universes
I feel like you could be missing out on the absurd comedy opportunities that some of these entail. Like a straight up workout video as a post credits scene for Atlas is genuinely hilarious, and catman fighting mancat genuinely poses such opportunity for some absurdist humour and a the makings of an amazing parody film.
Hell yeah. The moment weve all been waiting for.
I love what you're doing!
Man, you’re already doing what I was striving to do with my superhero universe that I’ve been writing. If you’ve got any pointers, I’d love to hear them! :)
Been waiting to hear anything more about this! Hopefully you're doing a BTS making of video, you got this!
The Superzeros NEED to eventually fight the "10 Famous Characters You Technically Own." The cinematic universe would forever be incomplete otherwise!
I was curious as to how this was going. Glad to see it's shaping up to a lot of fun
We need more
Not a massive superhero person, but damn your dedication and efforts into this project has me unexpectedly hyped
Oh wow I'm so hyped!!!
This got me way more hyped than I thought it would. I haven't cared about superhero movies for an extremely long time so this is interesting.
All this time, I thought that Cat Man was an original creation of Fairly Odd Parents. Or was that a coincidence?
Great to hear! As a proud backer, I look forward to seeing everything you've put together when the time is right. Keep up the fantastic work; I know it'll be fun! =]
If the universe expands beyond the characters from your 2022 pitch, might I recommend a horror movie about Fantomah, Mystery Woman of the Jungle? Low-budget CGI would be perfect for unsettling or outright disturbing the audience, like Courage the Cowardly Dog did for us millennials years ago. The public domain holds so much potential for reinvented characters!
Super excited for all this!!
IT'S HAPPENING❗❗❗
This is a huge win for indie animation! You go, man❗
Very glad you're getting the chance to share this passion project with us. May not be your biggest or oldest fan but I've been waiting for this news nearly half a decade. Good on you Austin! (and collaborators)
Those Cat-Man Bits Look Fucking Sick
Wow this is all very exciting!
Six-Gun Gorilla would make for a great movie, and I’d totally direct it if I were given the chance. 😂
Reboot as Totally Not-Harambe who got Isekai'd in the Old West by Gun-Kun.
This is actually so amazing
This is really cool, I'm excited to see all the stuff that comes out. I hope people's interest is still peaked. Support independent creators!
My favorite part of this was the ad I skipped before this: a Marvel ad.
Enjoyed Cat Man.
Keep up the good work.
Didn’t expect this to actually go somewhere. But here we are
This is amazing it's cool your doing this.
If the Spider Queen gets her own movie, will it be based on the novel?
What if it's a sequel to the novel?
It will adapt absolutely nothing from the novel.
No idea, but having written the book, I think I would die with excitement if that happened lol
I haven't watched the other videos but this is very inspirational! Seems so sincere and definitely has some passion put into it. I'll definitely be checking it out!
