You definitely like your rum! This has a nice level of sweetness, in some ways, it's a bit lighter than the kind of sweetness you get from a rum, but it does have a richness that makes it really enjoyable.
I don't think I've tried this one before Matt but it looks good! I feel like I need that glassware you're using too but I don't have much room left in the cupboard LOL. Cheers to the weekend!
Last weekend I walked down the Irish Whiskey aisle and recognized a bunch of bottles thanks to your channel. I picked up The Irishman. I'll add this one to the list, sounds like a whiskey I'd enjoy.
I have this whiskey in Italy: it's a great one, especially for the price (the cheapest Teeling I have found). I think there might be differences between the batches though (it's small batch after all!). I don't remember that much citrus in my bottle.
True, they put the bottling date on each bottle, so I would imagine that over the different batches (especially if they are from different years), there may be some changes
I love telling! It’s such a great brand and super enjoyable. I get those citrus and cinnamon notes too and I get a good amount malt on mine. I just saw The peated version in the store the other day so I think we’re gonna go back and grab it this week lol. Great review Matt keep it up 👍
Cheers! That peated version, the "Blackpitts" is really nice. They took a VERY heavily peated whiskey, but distilled it three times so a lot of the harshness of the peat smoke gets taken out. I always get the taste of pineapples cooked on a charcoal BBQ when I drink it. Hope you enjoy it!
Haven't tried Teeling yet, but I'm so interested in all the differences from other Irish whiskies! Thanks so much for this one! I'll have to sniff some out!
This would work well so! It's not so overpowering it's all that you'd taste in a cocktail, and it's sweet enough that someone who just wants something easygoing should enjoy it.
Sounds pretty good. Caught my attention when you mentioned plantation rum. One of our favorites. I’ve been meaning to try this one. Not sure which of their offerings we have on our shelves here.
i tryed the teelings small batch very nice whiskey very spice and sweet too but leave it to open for 10 mins and the spice dies back and it is very nice then
I liked the small batch until I had their single grain. The single grain I go to over it and have to remember to have the small batch lol. Wish the pot still and single malt were sold in my area
The single grain is a really nice whiskey, the wine finish matches SO well with the base flavour in the whiskey. Of their core 5 (Blend, Grain, Malt, Peated, Pot Still), the Grain would be the one I recommend people try first as it's just really damn tasty!
Have a bottle of this on the go just now. Really enjoying it. I actually prefer it to the single malt, but that's just me. I think it's the rum cask? Will defo be buying it again. :)
Good to hear! It's such an easy drinker I do find myself reaching for it more often than the single malt, although I do think I find the single malt a bit more complex. Still, as long as i like what's in the glass in front of me, I'm a happy man!
Ah, that's a good point, maybe they use those rum casks for this, since they need to produce a lot of it, but they save the Plantation rum casks for special releases. (I mean, if this was finished in Plantation run casks, I'd expect them to be featuring that on the label!)
We opened it tonight. Definitely an easy drinking whiskey neat. Not a competition for intense flavored scotch. We’ll put it in the cocktail rotation. Thank you for the nudge.
@@davidminton8644 That's it exactly, a decent dram, easy to drink, nice neat or in a cocktail... but it if you want the more heavyweight stuff, you might need something else
I LOVE that stuff. I was going to do a review myself but the bottle was too low, got another, and been dragging my feet on getting it done. For the price, you can't go wrong.
Haha! I don't think I could fit it all in one picture, I've got two bookcases of whiskey and the bar cabinet... Maybe 125 bottles altogether. And you should definitely see if you can give this a try!
Ok, I have tried Teeling, but this one sounds right up my alley! You know I love my rum & I like to try new things! Cheers!

Nice and clean review. Thank you.
You're welcome!
I've always enjoyed this one too. Cheers Matt.
Cheers Al, it's a winner alright!
Nice breakdown of this whiskey my friend. Sounds like it has a bunch of great flavors in it.
Oh it does, it's recognisably Irish, but with a nice twist

Just picked up this bottle the other day. Can't wait to try it this weekend. I have a couple cocktail ideas.
looking forward to seeing what you create!
I heard Admiral Ackbar loves the stuff. Another great vid, Brother! You're doing God's work!

Nice video really helpful ✊👌💯🔥

This is a solid bottle that is readily available. Cheers buddy! 🥃

Yeah, it's really nice especially for how available it is!

you should!
I haven’t really moved in that direction with the Irish whiskey, but I do love a good mixer for my guests that prefer cocktails over neat or rocks.
This would work well so! It's not so overpowering it's all that you'd taste in a cocktail, and it's sweet enough that someone who just wants something easygoing should enjoy it.
The Teeling small batch works well in a lot of cocktails. I used it not too long ago 🔥🔥
Hmm... I wonder where!

What a great video . And no I have never heard of telling whiskey
Cheers! If you can try a glass of it at a bar, I'd recommend it!

MATT!!!!! I'm very tardy... I think I may have seen this bottle. I need to see if I can get this!!! Great review!!! CHEERS!!!!
If you can, it's a great little whiskey!
Bacardi owns part of Teeling, so maybe the rum casks come from them? Teeling is pretty good, haven't had it in a while.
