RE: the lane changing to the ‘slow’ lane with Supercruise. In TX it’s the law that unless you’re passing a slower car you aren’t supposed to stay in the passing lane. So maybe GM is trying to follow the law and not park their a** out in the passing lane unless they’re passing.
You guys had the suspension in "Comfort" mode, but it looked like it didn't handle highways bumps as well as the Cybertruck in the most focused suspension setting. It didn't look as smooth, quiet and comfortable as the Cybertruck.
The Audi Q6 Etron has charge ports on both sides of the car. Trucks need one at the front and back on the same side. Nice truck. Been in it. We have the Silverado RST and prefer the bowtie’s styling. The Denali has better placement of the volume for the passenger.
That's right. The smaller battery peaks around 300 kW because it's two 85 kWh Equinox/Blazer batteries stacked. The lower voltage of those packs, 300-ish volts, create a max charging rate at 500 amps of 150 kW. That number is multiplied by two since the two packs are split and charged in series rather than parallel. The same applies to the big battery, which is two 102 kWh Lyriq packs which, alone, charge at a max speed of 190 kW. Theoretically, that creates a max charge rate of 380 kW, but 350 kW is the stated amount.
I have been sitting on the fence, originally looking at the Chev Silverado RST EV but waited for the GMC Sierra Denali EV review and my guess was right, a better truck. Why would anyone want to charge only to 50% and still have enough range? I mean I charge my Cybertruck to 70% and it rarely goes below 50%. In other words, I could charge to 50% daily, and still have more than double the range I need. But there is no real benefit to only charging to 50%. The battery in the Cybertruck is going to last over 300,000 miles, even if I charged it to 80% daily.
I dont know how this car handles regen (or most EV's I own a very old Leaf) but people like me in really cold climates would love that feature. I like to have regen available anytime I drive, so a limiter at 50% would ensure I can plugin and always have all regen available for my daily commute.
25:20 "pull 50 amps worth of power" ---you can only pull 40 amps (50 * 80%) from a NEMA 14-50. [So that would be 9.6 kW for your home's generators inlet. On this vehicles 24a (30 * 80%) it would be 5.76 kW]
@Scott-sm9nm The GM J772 adapter to the GM portable charger maxes out at 6.5KW delivery on my Sliverado RST. That is only slightly better than the 30 amp 240v plug in the bed using 24 amps. The cost is $300. It is a coin toss whether it was worth it.
@@kelviskelvis7140 Thank you for taking the time to respond. What plugs on on that box connected to your J1772 inlet? The only ones I've seen seem to be four/4 120v plugs (P=120V×20A=2400watts=2.4kW?) --- Is there are 240v plug and what amp is it? Guessing 30a. I was looking for a simple setup to power the house with a generator inlet from the bed of one of the EV trucks. I know they all have complicated V2H setups as well from the NACS or CCS1 (J1771+DC pins) ports.
The 14-30r can really only handle 24 amps. Gm neutered the bed 240v so people have to pay for their v2h setup instead of just back feeding their house like you can with cybertruck. To me it’s dumb. Make it a 14-50 and people will buy the v2h or not. Tesla just includes the hardware on every truck where gm makes the hardware attach to the house. Kyle went over it in one of his gm videos if you want more info.
@@Robert-pm6bmyou justified why gm put a 14-30r. I gave you another justification why they would also choose the 14-30r. Explain how that’s not related.

My brother rented a Chevy Silverado EV 2 weeks ago from Enterprise and the reality is these trucks are horribly inefficient. When he turned the rental back in and added all the receipts it was $528.36 for 9 days of use to keep the thing charged. Range was 383miles. It cost more to charge than gassing up his Silverado 2500HD which only takes 5 mins to fill the tank versus an 1.5hrs to charge. These are expensive with less use and waste a lot of time. Houston, TX
Lol what in the world? So your brother spent $60 a day on charging? At the average $0.35/kWh, that's 170 kWh per day - or about 420 miles of driving every day. Even at the ludicrously high cost of $0.70 per kWh for every charge, that's still 200 miles of driving (which is less than 20 minutes of charging for that day, BTW) And gas? The Silverado 2500 gets 12.5mpg. At $4/gallon, that same $528 for 9 days gets you about.. 185 miles of range per day. Actually worse than even the super high charging costs
I think its the lack of a grill and not knowing what to do with the blank space. Cadillac doesn't seem to have this issue since they replaced the traditional grill with a grill-like LED array
Your doing this country a huge dis serve making these fantasy land EV videos. In 99% of this country you can not find chargers if not a Tesla. Even here in vegas we have almost none. I can think of 5 WORKING 48kw chargers in entire vegas. Do you have any idea the percentage of people who RETURN EV within two weeks of owning here? It’s over 70% return at most Kia chevy and HYNDAI dealers. As people discover this is not the fantasy land video depict. EV’s are dead to 99% of this country. Start making hybrid videos that’s the future. Toyota got it right.
What? I get you don't like EV's but your data is entirely false. Also, your main source of charging should be at home and unless you're driving more than 200miles a day, there are zero drawbacks pertaining to range.
I drive a ‘22 Ford Lightning I charge at home and at work. My normal areas I drive have Electrify America and Tesla chargers. I have experienced charging deserts on long road trips, before I had the Tesla adapter. It was somewhat inconvenient because you had to drive a different (longer) route just to be able to stop and charge. A normal 6 hour trip took me 10. Thankfully I don’t drive on too many long trips like that. I haven’t had the Tesla adapter for very long, so I have no experience yet with them.
Isn’t it funny that this comment comes after the I-90 surge videos where a CCS vehicle (Taycan) smoked Teslas on a 3,000-mile road trip? 99% of the country. Hilarious. I’m not saying EVs are right for everyone, or even for most, but you’re outside your mind.
I towed a 7000# travel trailer several hundred miles to Vegas, drove around all week including some longer trips to red rock canyon, then drove home. All with an EV. You must live in the part of Vegas that doesnt have any electricity.

Lol what in the world? So your brother spent $60 a day on charging? At the average $0.35/kWh, that's 170 kWh per day - or about 420 miles of driving every day. Even at the ludicrously high cost of $0.70 per kWh for every charge, that's still 200 miles of driving (which is less than 20 minutes of charging for that day, BTW)
And gas? The Silverado 2500 gets 12.5mpg. At $4/gallon, that same $528 for 9 days gets you about.. 185 miles of range per day. Actually worse than even the super high charging costs
$1.59/kwh is the actual costs and it’s Houston so yes
Gas is 2.50/gal
@DrRockDC26 charging at home makes all the difference. The gas station mentality goes away when you charge at home.
You charge at home when you buy an EV and only go to a SC when road tripping. It's neen months sincs I've used a supercharger.
It seems like it’s a requirement to make EVs ugly
I love the look!
@uutube243 crawl out from under that rock. The BS meter is going off here with your post.
I towed a 7000# travel trailer several hundred miles to Vegas, drove around all week including some longer trips to red rock canyon, then drove home. All with an EV. You must live in the part of Vegas that doesnt have any electricity.
Your videos always amaze me with their professionalism and depth of treatment of the topic. Thank you for your dedication and passion for creativity!⛷⌨️🔹
