@@Tuhueleamierda1991 .. Not true. The lenses alone aren't even close. Every serious podcaster is using either a DSLR or mirrorless camera for good reasons. I'm not saying that you can't use a phone, the question is which is better especially if you have multiple cameras needed.

I love the RX100 VII but it is essential to add a bracket with finger grip and cold shoes, plus a stick-on 52mm filter thread which enables ND filters or a wide angle lens. With these add-ons the camera becomes awesome. A threaded 52mm filter stick-on is far better than the magnetic version. Too easy for things to get knocked off the magnets - no such problem for screwing the item onto a thread.
Which ND filter do you recommend ?

@@PixelSheep I really like it. If you are more into filmmaking I would suggest to grab an Alpha with IBIS. It's not THAT necessary though, so if you're on a budget the A6300 will work perfecly.
In LA right now, capturing a lot of footage. it’s very nice, I thought I would see more arri Alexa’s on 50,000 gimbals with 5 boom mics dangling down, but glad to be in your home town.

I own the older mk4 version and he does have a point. While the range of optical is better than an iPhone 11, unless doing some "real" cinematic work with it, carrying a point and shoot is a pain the in the butt. It's all about using the camera that you have on you now a days.

That T7 would be a fantastic little camera for getting started with my mom's cooking channel
I think when reviewing these pocket cameras, it's important to test how long it takes to startup/power on. These pocket cams are great but alot of times, the phones are much faster to capture the moment, especially comparing general shots in well lit areas, high end phones (in my opinion) will win hands down in terms of the speed to capture the moment, white balance etc etc.

Hi! Im 15 years old, and just starting out with videography. The T7 seems like a very nice starters camera for me to begin with. At the moment I am filming with my crappy €100 Sony Cybershot, the T7 would be a huge upgrade!

Get a Small Rig cage. It will protect the RX from falls and mount a flash shoe to mount the external mic. I use mine this way all the time. I like the Diety mics over the Rode.
By the way, the RS-100V (a steal now that it's 2 models old) has a much faster, though shorter, lens.
I have the RX100 mkV and I think that is the sweet spot with this camera. Built in 3 stop ND and a 1.8 to 2.8 Aputure. I’ll take that extra light over 200mm focal length 🙃

Ricoh GR III with an aps-c sensor and snap focus! I have a RX100V which I love but this Ricoh is stellar.

I actually got the Sony a couple weeks before ordering the iPhone (not realizing I'd be upgrading soon) but I still really love the sony for the zoom and ease of adding a little external mic and the pic quality is above and beyond! But I'm really loving the new 4k front facing phone camera, a lot wider than before and very stable for walking and talking, really helps make the phone a great vlogging camera! I've been working on some videos about both cameras :)

Tbh I've seen many classes or other likewise stuff for YT filmed on anything like iPhone XS or 11 Pro or something. Indoor shooting with a tripod and a good setup I really don't see much difference between the newer iPhone and a camera. Just if it could help :)
Honestly any modern flagship smartphone will shoot video that just as good in a controlled environment with good lighting. The reason why the quality is bad is probably because of bad lighting, you should master lighting techniques before upgrading your camera. If you are upgrading for better quality, you might as well go all out such as an A7III, A7IV or even A7SIII. If you don’t want to spend full-frame money, then get the A6100, A6400, or a6600 depending on your budget of course. I think interchangeable lens camera will be a better option just in case you want to change up your setup in the future.
If I won the canon T7 I would use it as a second camera so that my videos could have two angles.

Calvin Hicks you use a micro USB connector. Best to use a separate device for sound like zoom h5. Don't buy this camera. It's over priced and flawed and a pay to use device.check out proper reviews and the app reviews. WiFi connection awful, NFC tag does nothing

There is no magic lantern for t7.

@@BlueDragonMedia there is one for the t3i, but unfortunately all cameras newer then the 5dmk3 does not currently have a working version, because canon up the security with their newer cameras.

Definitely agree on the color that comes out of Sony cameras. In a way it’s like lenses though. It’s a unique aspect that can impact the overall quality of a video and enhance creative expression, if used intentionally. Some day I imagine people doing tutorials showing how to get that late 2010’s Sony A7rii look in post.
I agree. Apple should do behind the scenes on all videos they claim are shot on iPhone. Raw video file downloads would be nice too. Every generation iPhone has been an indispensable tool to capture moments with my family but when I’m making anything for youtube, that smoothing of the skin just disappoints.

The Sony is nice when it works. I’ve had RX100iii, Rx100iv, and RX100V. No, I got them not because I’m rich and bought a newer model when it came out. I got a newer model because the old one started having problems. Always the flash was the first to stop working because it’s thin and fragile power supply lines broke. Then the autofocus followed. I always set the image quality fairly high, about 10M for each photo on average. The result was excellent even when the images were blown up to fill a 65” TV. Now all the photos I take look good on the camera but grainy on a 17” notebook, looking more like 2M photos. I checked the property of these photos and they all still occupied an average of 10M space each. I really like the overall performance of RX100 series over Canon cameras although I always prefer the color of the Canon. Now I realize that I have to start to argue why I have to buy a new Sony in less than two years. I’m going to get a Canon this time and see if it lasts longer. Smaller technology, versatile lens, better AF. Muuuuch better photography potential too. Similar low light cuz it's a bsi sensor. Learn before you speak lol. Different cameras for two very different things. Also the bmpcc doesn't include a lens in that base 1200 price and jeeds to be rigged for it to work well.
This versus the Sony ZV1 is what I want to see.

Phones are absurdly convenient... and I can't make peace with the ways they distort the human face. I mostly take photos of the people I love, and with shots on the phone I don't quite recognize the AI-geometry-corrected faces, so I don't connect emotionally with the images. Point-and-shoot FTW!
Send that T7 here to Australia, so for the rest of its life it will be taking photos upside down from your perspective.

So..my S10+ shoots 4K 60fps with better stabilization, has Full HD SUPER STABLE mode which is basically like a gimble, has a pro mode, has a night mode, has 3 different lenses from 2x optical zoom up to 123° ultra-wide angle, 2 appertures fron f/1.5 to f/2.4,shoots 240fps full HD slow-mo and short bursts of 960fps, and is one of the best phones in the world with all the features, and costs 1000$, why tf would i buy this camera for 1199$?

The RX100 is my go to for on the fly RAW stills and I need a video now and don't have my rig. You mentioned using the cell to replace the pocket cam, but the RX one ups my S10, can't make the apple switch yet, too stubborn. Great vid, keep them coming, and actually drop the cam once in a while for durability test!
