I have the 2-15's on a 1000 running 1ohm in a 8cuft box tuned to 38hz, the roll of is a bit sharp in the low 30's. If I can take that massive sub box out and just run an 8" and keep the same db level im all over it. Do you have any videos on your set up here on UA-cam? I can't wait to build my 8" box, I might go with 2- 8" but that may be too much!

I notice the drop off around 15-17 Hz and I don't put anything higher than 100Hz through it, which is probably why it sounds like a bigger set up 👍🏼 there's enough excursion to move enough air and with the resonant frequency of the enclosure being so low, it just pounds 👌🏼
That is a pretty good option for people who just need a little more bass and not take up space or upgrade electrical. Two of those in a shoe box sized box and 500 watts. Good deal for the non bassheads
I have 3 of these with a heavy duty 12" Dayton passive radiator on a Zapco 600. They sound awesome. I put the back floor panel down in the suv and they disappear.
I have 2 x ADIRE 6.5.s really hand made some years ago. They are excellent . Really amaze people just how much impact they can create when correctly boxed and amped

I had 2 blown SA 12s, I made them into a "passive radiator" by removing the magnets and capping off the coil, I have two sundown 6.5 x series as the drivers. 1 6.5 driver 1 12 passive per box. Sounds pretty damn good.
Just bought 4 of these bad boys 30minutes ago with a SFB 3000 to power em for my f150. Getting a custom box made rn . Any pointers would be extremely helpful
Looking at the parameters I don't think these would do that good sealed. Their free-air resonant frequency is 51 hz and in small sealed box they'd start rolling off at 70ish hz. It'd probably have excellent mid-bass though (70-200ish hz).
Thinking about building a box for my older van and wondering if I should pop for a pair of these or just do a single since it's set up with a double winding? The real question is what size box? (cubic feet) Sealed or ported? Not looking for crazy SPL, just something nice and smooth. Got anything special in mind for mids or tweeters? Space limitations would be 1 ft tall, but could go 2-3 ft wide for each cabinet. (exterior) Since it's a classic vehicle I am also limited in the power dept to around 100 watts. Might be able to squeak 200 watts if I make some adjustments. Just no room for a larger alternator.

How about single 8 or 4 ohm? I have no need of dual 2 ohm voice coil, but that 6.5" sub is perfect for a small home subwoofer build with an 8 or 4 ohm coil.

1 question..to get the best out of any sub ,you must "break them in " ? ..is this true ....( example..you just got your sound system hooked up and ready to go..first song /track starts playing..and you hit that volume button all the way up ..that would make your sub not hit to its full potential..because its fresh out the box.?? Im just trying to see how true that is .

I would definitely run these. Back in the day I wanted to downgrade my sub from two 12 inch rockfords to one 8w7.😳😳 Boy was I wrong. That little 8w7 hit cleaner and deeper than those rockfords.😂 I can only imagine this beast in a finely tuned enclosure. How deep does it go?

This is exactly what you want for fast paced music like rock where there is a series of rapid beats as opposed to a long drawn out base note. Thats not to say that rock music is all these subs are good for but these are exactly the sort of subs you'd aim for if accurate sound with respectable volume is what you desire.

Sundown Audio unofficial Most everything I own is made overseas. I hate that. I bought 2 SKAR audio 10's hoping that they would be made in USA. I replaced two PYRAMID SUPER PRO 10 inch woofers that I've had since 2002. They were proudly made in USA. It even says it on the logo. They have a 2.5 inch voice coil also. I paid 70 dollars each for them back then. They still rock. It's just their Xmax is only 6mm. I had to upgrade. So the SKAR's have 11mm. I know the upper end of every sub brand has more made in America, but I just wish the owners of each company would really be proud to say made in USA on their product. I also have six 18 inch EMINENCE AUDIO subs that are made in America. It might not mean much to you but I like to say that when I buy a product. I'm just saying that I was very let down that I can't find a entry level subwoofer made in America. Even if they raised the price, I would still buy it. I hate seeing MADE IN CHINA on the product boxes especially for price that is wanted.
If you're okay with paying more for Made In America then look at the Sundown Audio X-series subwoofers. The 10"-up are all made in our headquarters in Claremont, NC here in the USA. You can look up the Build Room videos here on the channel and see them in process being built.
so what are the playable frequencies on this? I know the X 6.5 can play quite high. The reason I'm asking is because I'm debating using these in my back doors as a midbass driver to fill in the frequencies that my sub arent picking up. 80-500hzfor example.
@@Forcefed2002 ! have a stock sub box in my towny that has a tiny weak paper cone "sub" its ok for driving ms daisy but sucks for road trips with wife and kid. The box is the right size for this, and I could probably wrap it with fiberglass or something to stiffen up the plastic and keep it looking stock.

Dual 2ohm version can be wired in series to a single 4ohm.

Series means jumping the positive of one coil to the negative of the other.
