- In this video, Christian shows the Concentric Overload Training method where you add pressure on the concentric portion of a movement directly from the first rep. You can then adjust the pressure from reps to reps as fatigue built in.

No training partner so I'll stick to drop sets, start heavy static hold, then drop set, but I appreciate all these tips, I think your the most knowledgeable fitness youtuber.
God level spotting tip
Oh, that looks like his sidekick from the videos shot in 2011 for T-nation.
Same guy. Stephane Aube has been working with me for 17 years
great vid
Brutal but effective! My clients hate this one...
This is what Mark bells slingshot and other companies attempts at making them attempt to do. Put an extra 5 to 10 maybe even 20 lb and do an extra set after your initial working sets. But I guess if you have someone with you it could be safe or if you don't have spotter arms on your setup.
Sir for hypertrophy is stright set or pyramid set is best, thank you
At the same effort level (proximity to muscle failure) there is no difference
When did people abandon straight sets with 3 minute rests
yesterday
Never. We just mix it up for variety, fun, and stimulation.
Whats the difference between this and a dropset?
Dropset is just going to decrease the weight after failure to fatigue the muscle. This one is actively adding more weight on concentric to get the most out of EACH rep. You could do drop sets with this method...that would be nasty!
@@FitPhilosopher oh so kind of like drop sets but not having the weight on the eccentrics? I thought he was pushing down on the bar less and less as the reps went on (which made me think of the drop sets)
yes but that’s just because of fatigue for the exerciser. The goal is to keep the tension for the one performing the lift challenging but only only enough to get the desired rep range. If you press with the same force they probably won’t get many reps. Modulate pressure so they keep form for each rep until desired reps are completed or they can only push the weight up, and wouldn’t be able to with any added pressure from you.
More control, basically. Almost same effect, but a bit more precision, like a massage machine vs a masseuse .
Meh... How many years you're on roids?! Honestly! At least approximately...
I used from (if memory serves me well) from 2005 to 2011). Which led to severe health issues that “forced” me to stop (kidney and heart).
@@THIBARMY And you really think, that people believe that "Rock-like" bullsh*t? 😂
@@8000860 well, those who have seen me “on” vs now will. And frankly I don’t really care either way. You asked for my honest answer, I gave it to you. If you don’t like it because it doesn’t fit your narrative there is nothing I can do
WOW one of the most qualified trainers with many years of experience articles podcasts athletes etc. against a random guy on youtube that will be fun
oh and btw accusing a professional for using roids is like accusing a pro ferrari driver for using a ferrari
