- The main benefits of the Manual Eccentric Overload is that you can do sets of Accentuated Eccentric AND you can adjust the amount of tension you put on the bar as the set progresses.

Yes this is part of the constant tension in the stretch.
It seems that I can hear voice of Sarcev (or maybe Šarčev) calling you out on this one...:)
I'm just kidding. Great series, coach...
Without a spotter can I used a Foam Block on the bench with 70-80% with 5sec descend? OR use smith machine and have two bands anchored on the top providing resistance as I lower the bar? @THIBARMY
If you suspend bands from the top of the squat rack with bar inside the bands, does this have the eccentric effect you are talking about, or not?
Yes, but it reduces the concentric stimulus too much since the bands lift a lot of weight back up. You might as well ditch the bands, and use a slightly heavier weight, control it eccentrically, pause at the bottom, and explode upwards.
The point is to get a weight up that you can't perform a concetric rep on without a spotter.@@Ou8y2k2
Chris, how do you think Anatoly Powerlifter got so strong at such a light body weight?
2:30 LÖL :))
What's the closest thing someone can do to this with out a partner?
one way is to somehow concentrically use two limbs and eccentrically one
For example, an inverted row works really well with that.
@justgivemeanumber8215 yeah I do this for some exercises as well like tricep pull downs and bicep curls
Push ups.....2 & 1 arm combo
ohh wait, one needs to be able to do one arm push ups don't they :)))
@KenanTurkiye you can start with 1 arm push ups with knees on the ground and work your way up. I have total respect for creative calisthenics, they can hold people over for a long long time til they would need a gym, but the gym can help in other ways
@@afishl1 Thank you for that 'mini-instructions'. Yeah calisthenics is cool.
I'm a gym-bro-scientist who can one arm push up even with my hefty weight. :) not perfectly but I like to think I can, motivational thinking and reality mixed together. :)))
