This week we do loads of boat prep before picking up some of our Bestie's from Australia! Unfortunately we have some strong wind headed our way for day 1 of our very own Sail Croatia, we're nervous!
We check out a few beautiful beaches on the Island of Vis and party with our boat neighbours before sailing onto the Pakleni Islands where we have a paddle boarding competition. We finish off with one of Europe's most famous Music festivals, Ultra beach!
This one's a little different than usual, we were a bit slack with filming everything as it was such a busy time with our friends and we also really want to soak it all in but I tried to tie it all together nicely with lots of story telling :) Hope you enjoy!

Thanks for warming us up. It is winter here where I live (Ottawa, Canada) with sub freezing temperature and snow on the ground. I will be cold and colder until the end of April. So I appreciate your warm video on Monday. Vis was my favorite island when I sailed Croatia.

Now that’s what I call a hell of a good time lol!! Key to not feeling hung over is when you first get up drink another beer or whatever you were drinking the night before and it makes you feel soooo much better! Unfortunately they go on to Greece after this which we wanted to join them but it was just too expensive to leave our boat in a marina in Croatia plus all the other expenses to go

I think we may mention that we’re getting it but we don’t pick up the tender til we get to slovenia which is about 2.5 months after we were with our Aussie friends

Great video! I’m doing my best to convince my lovely wife that a circumnavigation is a GREAT idea. Even started a UA-cam channel to identify boats she might like better than her house. Lol. If you have any tips, I’m all ears!

@@LeadingtheEscapade I am very new to the lifestyle. Have several RYA courses, trailed on sail and trawler, owned a ski boat for years and grew up on a lake, but nothing like live-aboard. I have note that she doesn’t get seasick, so I’m taking it as a good omen! Lol!
Oh that’s awesome! I was just going to say probably doing all the courses you both can is a great idea to get you started. It will Make living aboard more enjoyable if your wife feel’s a little more confident with what she’s doing and you too
Learning the weather is also super important to avoid crappy weather situations as much as possible, doesn’t have to be both of you. I don’t really understand the weather as much as Jason but he has really gotten so much better with reading it these last 6 months and we’ve definitely been more comfortable and avoided being exposed to it like we did when we first started
For boats Jase did loads of research everyday looking for board on yacht world etc to see what’s out there
If we had the funds I’d certainly buy a catamaran so I’d recommend looking into something like a performance cat if you can afford to as it’s more like apartment living, the boat doesn’t heel over so it’s more comfortable, more spacious, the saloon is above sea level and if you go with a performance cat it’ll still sail well unlike some of the normal catamarans that can’t sail very close to the wind at all
But In all means we’re no experts, we have our great days and our bad days and I guess the bad days aren’t avoidable all the time but they really are forgotten so soon when you have great weather again and beautiful anchorages with a new backyard whenever you want

I’m glad you got something out of my comment and I can’t wait to hear how your palms eventuate 😄 would love to hear how you get on with it all down the track. Also a great idea would be to charter a similar boat to what you would like to possibly purchase to see what your wife thinks of the lifestyle and space etc. i guess you just have to remember that it’s always a little different living aboard 24/7 than just for a week or two 😏 but honestly we love it and we did not regret our decision

Great fun , how did u get everyone on board?
It was a mission! The three others stayed in hotels along the way but we had to pick them up each day and their suitcases every second day in our dingy which we all know was a bit dodgy😂😂 so sometimes we had to do 2 trips. Luckily most spots we’re close by but yeah it wasn’t the easiest thing to do. We’d probably only sail just with 2 people onboard next time so it makes it easier and you don’t have to have a solid itinerary as it’s just too hard with the weather etc
But it was so much fun🫶🏼

Not sure what we are seeing. Seems like way to many people on a boat at the same time. Lots of long hairs and bang o clock is always the time.

It was probably because the boats weren't that big but was still big enough for a few people like 5 and 6 people but there were only a few of them on board which was possibly it may have seemed like a lot and too many people, but in reality in depended on the size of the boat...Great Fun times they had, enjoyed watching this.!!!
