Great review, I own a V9 Bobber Nero here in Paris, I agree about the exhaust note with you and I changed the mirrors to bar ends. Perfect for city riding, filtering traffic and blasting away from red lights, love it. Guzzi's are unique.
Check them out Todd, so much fun to ride, reminds me very much of my old BMW R65 which I’ve always said is the most fun bike I’ve ever ridden, although Amber’s Continental GT is not far behind
Sure have ridden the V7 Special, review on the channel about 6 months ago. The V9 actually handles ok, but you are correct the V7 does handle better. We are getting the new V7 stone as well as the V100 Mandello for review very soon. Out if the V7 and V9 I prefer the V7
This bike could have some real potential as a cafe racer , albeit , with cruising capabilities. Removing and replacing that saddle with a cafe one would really increase that ‘wow’ factor. Would you know of any modified v9’s out there ?
to have cruising capabilities, they should have changed the fork for a better one. biggest problem of this bike is stability! behind a van or even a large car, up to 110 kmh, you are praying to stay alive. in curves at reasonable high speed, it's worse, and you can try any tire you want, after 6k km, the bike wobbles dangerously between 70 and 90 km/h.. i tried everything to reduce the problem: changing heigh of the fork, adding or removing windshield, changing handlebars and risers, tested many tires, and many tire pressure, changed the stock shocks for Skock factory etc.. it's better, but far from what it should be. the only thing which work is changing the fork and add a Misano Kit springs, but it's too exensive. i ride a lot with it and sportively( not speed but lot of angle in twwisties) , it's my main vehicule, i made long trips every time, up to 3 or 4000 km. so, you can cruise with it but, like said my guzzi dealer, i am the only one he knows who ride so much with this bike.. about saddle, after 40k km, i finally dont care about it even if , it's like sitting on a plank :) ps, i talk about the 2018 , not the new one which doesnt have stability problems
Yep, shaft drive is the way to go. I currently own 3 bikes, 2 that are shaft drive, always annoys me when I have to clean the chain on my partners bike or my other bike that has a chain. It’s an interesting ride though, different to a chain
Great review man. Guzzi is definitely an acquired taste. It takes a moment to get it. I miss riding them. I’ve secretly been looking at them lately as a replacement for the Sporty. I have some specific models in mind that Australia seems to miss out on.
@@whatsstefon actually I just did a quick search online and it appears the only options are the V7, V9 and V85TT so no more Eldorado’s or any cruisers in the line up which seems odd. Very keen to check out the V100 when it lands. Hoping to get a press bike
Thanks for watching. I haven’t ridden the V7 yet, but it is on the list, as is the V85TT. Based on my experience with the V9 though, I suspect I’m going to love the V9, the styling is very much my cup of tea.
I agree with you there, Moto Guzzi do make lovely machines. I must admit the V7 was more my style, and I wasn't quite sure about the V9 initially, now it's gone back I miss it.
I can understand how the colour scheme is not everyone’s cup of tea but I have to say the photos and video don’t do it justice, seriously quality finish on the Guzzi.
Moto Guzzi ownership is quite unique. Had my Griso for almost 7 years and even though there are better bikes out there. I have no interest in updating it (although the V100 might tempt me).
The gear indicator isn’t determined by the gear you are in, but by rpm and speed, and calculate the gear. That’s why it’s slow and doesn’t show gear when you aren’t moving under power.
Thanks for watching glad your enjoyed the video. I think my many years as a muso (yes, drummers are real musicians) has affected my hearing, shall see if we can keep the music levels in check for the next one
Good test (too much v7 tests, we need more v9 videos...) I own the same model and I can say that's more similar to a naked than a cruiser, only style & tyres remind to a cruiser bike....in the complex I'm satisfied (I came from Harley): fuel consumption, assembly quality, brakes & engine are very good
Agree, it’s not a bike that gets enough attention, would still love to review a V7, but I was so impressed with the V9, such a quality bike, really enjoyed riding it, didn’t want to give it back.
@@BikerTorque yeah the lightness gives good performances also with a "little" engine and electronic form Piaggio & Aprilia is very good (traction control, abs and lights are ok)
Awesome, I love my V9 Bobber Sport
Nice one. I loved it also, currently reviewing the BMW R12 which is a very similar experience
Ross, very detailed review and beautifully edited.
You are such a stylish chap and that whole vibe suits the bike perfectly!
Stylish, me, you sure you were watching the right video?

Very slick production, Ross, a pleasure to watch your videos!
Thanks man, still need to get yourself and Rochelle on the channel, might be for season 4.
Amazing Ross. Great review and a gorgeous bike.
Cheers Rob, thanks for watching. It’s a bike that was converted me to really wanting a cruiser.
Fantastic review, my friend. V9 bobber in black, and this Centenario colour looks awesome.
👍
Yes a new episode of biker torque! And a moto guzzi. Nice.
Cheers mate. We’ve got a few more reviews coming up and our regular stories kicking off again in a few weeks. Thanks for watching
I watched this videos for the first time a few months ago and yesterday i bought myself exact this model 👍😎
Hey nice one. I hope you enjoy it, great bike.
Oh and thanks for watching
@@lifeofesss good luck my friend, ride safely. Enjoy!
Love the new style of video mate, everything a punter wants to know.👍🍻
Good to hear, thanks for the feedback.
Great video and the bike is a sight to behold! Its on the list, but how do think it would suit a longer legged rider?
I think it would be ok for a talker rider, maybe best to test ride one.
Awesome review. I’ve put this on the “need” list.
I need a “need” list. Thanks for watching
Can’t wait to watch this Ross. I’m at a gig. Will watch tonight.
Enjoy the gig Chewie

That headlight is wild! I've never ridden a Moto Guzzi. I'm not even sure I've seen one by me. I'll have to check around. I'm in the US. Great review!
It’s a stunning design. The California Highway Patrol used to ride Guzzis. I might need to watch some old episodes of CHIPS now
Great video Ross. I’ll have to find spice alley. Is it near Central station?
Yep, Kensington St. Thanks for watching
next time you are in Sydney Chewie

Have you ridden the V7 850? Curious how they compare. I would think the V7 handles better with those balloon tires in front.

Brilliant review, Ross. I'm with you , re shaft drive, most of my bikes were shafties, the first being a Yamaha XS750 triple. Cheers

V7 or V9? That is the question!
Great review! 😉
I’m keen to review the V7, definitely my kind of bike. If it’s anything like the V9 I’m sure I’ll love it. Love the styling on the special
