    I love Moto Guzzi bikes and ride a Stelvio myself. The Bobber is gorgeous. Moto Guzzis are proper bikes with the shake, rattle and roll like the old time machines. You really have to be a motorcycle conasoir to enjoy these. Thanks for the great review.

    I’ve owned this bike for a year... absolutely love it. I moved my pegs 100 mm forward. The seat is way more comfortable when u remove the pillion. I still smile every time I’m on it.

      Sounds like a good move on the footpegs. I’d have liked a little more space behind them

      @BigMoeFo 5 років тому +2

      Well for 2017 it still had the pegs forward but came with a kit to move them back. I didn't. They did that because riders knees were right on the engine...I tried both options and chose the first. In any case it's not like the V7 there's no room to hug the tank with your knees...

    Thanks for a well rounded report. My son has just taken delivery of a new Moto Guzzi V7 Stone with the night pack. Lovely bike. I had possibly the first V50 in Wales many years ago and now around 36 or so years later he has his own Guzzi. I’ve just subscribed to your channel and look forward to more great content. We call ''filtering'' splitting lanes in the US. In many states it is legal. Especially places with extremely heavy traffic during rush hours, like California. But watching you go through the cars and busses in the city, as well as other reviewers doing the same thing, drives my blood pressure up, while I'm sitting here safe on my couch lol. I really don't know how you guys dont get squished daily. Good luck bro!!

      @motobob  5 років тому

      Cheers mate. Don’t see what the fuss is about re it being a bobber or not tbh. The seating position feels pretty similar to the triumph. And once you remove the pillion seat which takes 2 mins, it’s about as much of a bobber as anything else on the market atm isn’t it? They’re all just modern interpretations...

  • @FrankieSousa
    @FrankieSousa 3 роки тому +2

    It has the aesthetic charm of a cafe racer , albeit in a bobberesque shell. I love it’s split personality!
    Triumph may have the upper hand but they’re made in bloody Hinckley. At least Moto Guzzi have stayed true to their roots.

  • @karlosh9286

    re 9:36 ish. On your point of going around 30 MPH town roads, I completely agree. If all I'd ever wanted to do was ride 30 to 40 MPH town roads then my ex CB125R could do them well, and it was nice and light to manually handle, and did over 100 MPG, so no range issues on it, ever . The 60 MPH twisties was why I had to pass my test ( plus take a pillion ).

  • @karlosh9286
    @karlosh9286 5 років тому +3

    On the torque assisted clutch on the Triumphs, I completely agree. The Street and Speed twins were hardly any different to amount of effort needed to operate my CB125R. The training school's Honda CB600 from 2008 ish had a clutch where I thought I was training my left hand to crush billiard balls !

    • @motobob
      @motobob  5 років тому +1

      Haha! Yep - the fact that I ride mainly in town where you’re slipping the clutch a lot really sold me on the Street Twin. Such a nice feel to the clutch feel. You really appreciate it when you switch to another bike

    I really admire your work. Thanks! This was posted some months back but if you're checking comments; I'm wondering if you recall how you did on gas mileage with this? I really like how the V7 has a 5+ gallon tank! This one is a bit over a gallon smaller. How many miles to a tank? A second question, can't recall if you did a V7 video. Have you ridden that one and could you give a quick comparison for someone considering both? Thanks very much and stay safe!

    I really enjoyed this V9 review. It's the first review I have watched about this bike and I found it informative and it sparked my interest in the bike.
    As I'm getting on a bit, may I ask, is the clutch action light?. I appreciate your comments about the difference between the V9 and Triumph clutch. A full day riding and pulling the clutch in can cause aches and pains for us older bikers using heavy clutches.
    Subscribed and looking forward to watching your other reviews.
    Thank you.

    • @porterchester3745

    I have a 1989 Moto Guzzi Mille GT that took me 130 miles at highway speed on 1 cylinder when a plug wire crapped out on a Sunday morning with no replacements available at the time. Also own a Moto Guzzi 2013 V7 Stone that handles beautifully and easily handles highway speeds for distances. Cannot go wrong with GUZZI'S!!!

  • @bigfootingermany
    @bigfootingermany 4 роки тому

    I would also love to know how much vibration you deal with at highway speeds say 75-80 mph. Does it sound like the motor is gonna scatter like the V7 does? I'm considering one of these over a BMW nine T pure. I already have 2 BMW's and really dont care much for the Japanese bikes.

    re a town bike , your Street Twin seems like an ideal one. The handle bars are a bit narrower on the Street as compared to the Speed Twin. They're also narrower than the Honda 125 I had.
    When I watch you and the youtuber Dick Whistles filter in London Traffic I just wonder how you do it ! Maybe I'll get there if and when I decide not to get on the train on my daily commute into London from just outside the M25.

    V9 Bobber is a great bike, i mean tbh im alittle biased...heck all Guzzis are great bikes! But yeah i do really like the V9 and its a really nice styled machine, particularly love the Tank and big fat front wheel, not as versatile as the V7 but i rode one month or so back as a nice gentleman let me take his down the road and back. Thanks for your honest opinions in your test of the Guzzi Bobber , Your test is 3 years old now so I cannot expect a reply , but if you do thank you , because I have a serious question for you , or anyone else who knows ! The Bobber has a twin sister called the Roamer . The Roamer has a skinnier front tyre and a one piece seat , both are things I reckon would suit me better . The question is though ; would I prefer the V7 now that both the V7 and V9 share the 850cc engine .... I assume they have exactly the same tuning and gear set , but I am not sure . I am fairly sure that I want either a Roamer , or the V7 850 Special , not the Stone Special , which has dual clocks . Oh for twin Brembos , but nevermind !
    Cheers !

      These bikes seem to sell largely on style & looks but the good thing about them is unlike a Harley, they actually ride reasonably well too. Just watched this again, so deleted my earlier comment as I've changed my view. I like this bike. With the rear seat removed, a sissy bar fitted to take a luggage roll, this would be worth having. The feet aren't too far forward.
    Scooters are definitely better in the city. I love my Aerox 155.

No issue on that Guzzi when you get on the throttle, they've been shafting for decades, so they've got it down. Question, sorry if I missed this in the vid. How was the gas mileage? The Cali much bigger engine, of course, but the gas consumption was noooot goood. How's this one? Thanks!

    Wobbly on lanes? Hmm, Guzzis aren't wobbly, Pirelli tyres are.
    Swapping out the Pirelli for Avon AM26 completely solved the tendency to squitter on my V7 II; also considered an upgrade to BT45 on Bonnies.
    You won't get AM26 for the Bobber but can get Avon Cobra and Road Runner fronts of that size.
    Shaft jacking? There is a little, the side rock is more noticeable, but unlike the germans who then design an add-on thing to stop it, and another add-on to fix that, the italians simply design it out of the system in the first place. The big blocks use a "CARC" (cardan shaft) drive, the small blocks not.

    • @motobob

    • @jeffslade1892
      @jeffslade1892 5 років тому

      @@motobob - I often hit gravel, can't say they don't slip on that but the Pirelli would light the ABS up regularly where the Avon grip so well we don't see the light. The Brembo asymmetric 4-pot floating disc can lock the wheel were if not for the ABS. But I don't expect to see the ABS operating for normal braking on dry roads. The Pirelli would skip sideways at the slightest provocation. The difference goes from uncertain to sure-footed
