You really need to see this in the metal to appreciate just how beautiful this bike is. The finish is superb, the quality of the paint, the brightwork, the nuts and bolts, all of it is spot on. Mine is coming this week (in red). Proper old school quality
Hey Mr Fish great review & I’m now the owner of that ACTUAL bike. Absolutely love it & as you say it’s so smooth in every dept & looks the nuts. Have already started modifying it & will be the getting the tank done in the 1969/70 Candy orange flake colour scheme. Keep up the good vids 👍🏻
Excellent video... Own 2014. I love hearing, and watching videos on it, just like this one... The excitement is in your talking about it... Unless you've ridden one, you will never understand the way he did an overview with such detail that he gave... If you you ride one you will be tempted to purchase. It doesn't matter if you like this style of bike, or Honda, or whatever might be your like, or dislike. It has it all, and does it all, from top to bottom, from handling to breaking, to acceleration...
I agree. Mine sits outside under a cover on the drive and I use it all year round. It still looks like it just came out of the showroom. Build quality is superb.
Really enjoy your "real world" reviews. I get bored of seeing professional motorcycle journalists reviews. Also, I like how you give your opinion on the features, as apose to rattling off the specification. Thumbs up!
I think cleaning my bike is part of the fun of owning a nice bike! This bike has been my dream bike since I first saw it in 2012 and when I finally get my hands on one it will be my daily commuter and everything else. Thanks for the video man! That was awesome!
Thank you for riding it at a decent pace and not like an 85 year old. Then giving your opinion on handling and brakes. Sorry but some of the reviewers on UA-cam are lovely wholesome people but seem to have forgotten where the throttle is 😢 Great review
I bought one of these new earlier this year and your review is spot on; and you’re right about the indicator lights on the dash, you just can’t see them flashing. You can change the info on the dash into imperial units.
Great video, finally a good cb1100rs video! answered all the questions I had, thanks! Been interested in this since the vanilla cb1100 retro came out. Subscribed!
Excellent review, really enjoyed it. To be fair i think you are spot on with your conclusion. I have a CB1100RS and its lovely, its my sunny day 'best' bike. I have an old Pan1100 that imuse for everyday stuff. The RS is too nice to use in crapy weather IMHO
Great review on a great bike. Personally I like the big tail light at the back as it captures the 70/80s for me, and agree with you regarding the bars. Got my polish and Autosolve. Right off to get one!
19:07 - 19:17 it remains me movie "American beauty" its so SPECTACULAR. The end makes me confused, any bike will be wet and possibly dirty if ridden in rain, so what is the difference beetween Honda cb 1100rs and any other bike?
Great review. I own one of these bikes and love it. The observations you made, good and bad, were absolutely spot on, although contrary to what you said, I ride mine all year round and in all weather. I must admit I'm one of those people who actually enjoys cleaning bikes, but I would say, for a naked bike, this is surprisingly easy to keep clean and looking like new....probably in part down to the superb build quality.
Honda & Kawasaki have perfected the air cooled motor, i own a 1983 honda Goldwing standard, this would be a perfect modern stablemate, i'm old school rode bikes in the 70's think ABS is the best modern update, as for rider modes all available at the twist of a throttle. Love your road tests & evaluations.
Very reasonable price for a 2nd hand low mileage one now. I've just bought a 2018 model for 7k ! With ALL that quality and craftsmanship ,looks and comfort .....Bargain!
Dont know if anyone gives a damn but if you're stoned like me atm you can watch all of the new movies and series on instaflixxer. Been streaming with my gf recently =)
I like everything about this bike. But, of course I’ve only seen them on UA-cam. It looks lovely. I’m getting tired of my Harley. I’ve had it for 11 years and I am ready for something that handles and performs better without getting a sport bike.
Great review, awesome bike! I am currently researching for my next bike, at the moment riding a Rebel 500 which I love but already outgrown.. Two machines on the top of my list: This RS, and the Bonnie T120. How would you compare those two and which would you pick?
I love my cb1300 sa7 but am seriously considering adding one of these to my collection......thanks for the positive review it’s a shame the cb1000 big one didn’t catch on back in ‘93 as the bike press killed it dead in the water but all the big cb’s are related and deserve better press.... very impressed by the new 5four ltd edition as well cheers enjoyed the review
@@Mrfish2015 Was just an observation, not a criticism. Know that storage space can be hard to find on today's bikes. Not like the old days (which I know is a well overused expression) when a lot of the bikes I had, Kawasaki H2's, Suzuki GS1000, GSX1100 and the like had tail pieces that would accommodate a few odds and ends.
Thanks for the nice review. What a great bike! Nice looking and great sound. Awesome ! I want to buy one or these but wondering about the air cooling. Is this bike great for traveling? I don't know if it's motor get hot in the trafic ? Do you have any info about that. Thanks for sharing and good continuation.
So what about the EX? Would you recommend an EX to a mature late 30 something as a first bike? License expired Stateside and in process of renewing. Love this review! Youre videos are fun to watch!
@@Mrfish2015 - Bit of an assumption their Mr Fish. Owners might disagree with you on that (and some journos). EX has wider bars and skinny tyres and handles a treat. Never tried the RS but I have an EX.
Nice review. I ride the CB1100 and agree with the joy of riding it. I also agree that it could be a drag to clean if you ride in all weather. Somehow the owner would have to get over it - possibly using a second bike :D . Yeah, the lump feels so right. I will add that although the lump is air-cooled, it purrs just as well at -25C + windchill.
I'm thinking of buying one or the other but haven't ridden either yet. Living in New England I'll I have to wait until spring. Currently riding a ninja 500. Which would you recommend?
Nice video! I took the RS for a test ride but bought the EX (which has wider bars!). Had it for 13 months now and ride through the year but I confess to being a fair weather rider... It is heavy but I love it to bits - a first class bit of machinery! Cheers Tony
My experience with 4 cylinders is almost non-existent. I ride a 1170cc boxer twin. Just one important question: Is it smooth throughout the rev range? With twins you normally get a range (e.g. between 2000 and 3000) where the bike surges and is uncomfortable when ridden at a constant speed within this range. Is this the case with the CB1100. I'm only asking because 95% of my riding would be at a constant 40kph at about 2500 rpm. By the way, great video!
the rear light is harking back to the 70s when honda rear lights were exactly the same on the ex model the clocks have the same green background as the old 750 that is point of this bike, retro, stunning bike dont ruin it by hacking off the rear end....

Yeah, just take a hacksaw to the rear mudguard of your brand new 10,000 Pound bike. Am i the only one who hates the modern trend of ruining your bike as soon as you get it. I mean, this is a retro machine that's been built with care and attention so it looks a lot like the ones of yesteryear. Why not stick some bar end mirrors too. BublakVTX air cooling fins are a pain to clean and the whole bike is too pretty to abuse it’s not designed for winter use I would guess
Been riding mine all winter on the coastal roads of Suffolk. Still looks like it just came out of the showroom!

FOR THE ALMOST CIVILIZED, THIS BEAUTIFUL BIKE IS A GREAT CHOICE...
Great video. Totally agree with your thoughts on this bike. It's a shame it's not available in Australia. If it was, I'd have one for the weekend.
In Australia we used to put a Gear Sack U shaped frame and large bag. Brilliant.
Go for the EX with the wire wheels.

Damn !!! it is beautiful and it sounds amazing !
Great review as always! I´m torn between getting this or the Triumph Speed twin. Really cant decide between the two.
i really wish they make a 500c version of this bike, weighing no more than 200kg at least. even with a premium price i think they would sell well.
I almost agree. For me they should make a 650cc version .
Cb400
Would be called Cb500RS maybe with the twin from the cb500f, commuter that’s still pretty maybe
They should make it in 550 and 750 that's Honda's traditional sizes
honda are amazing and i still think my 1998 honda cbr1100xx blackbird is still the best bike honda ever made :)
Great video Mr Fish deciding between this and a Speed Twin👍
My OCD couldn't cope with the cap on the key chain blowing around and potentially damaging the paint. Why do that?
Only place I had to put it and I don’t have OCD so not a problem for me , sorry

They should have done chrome springs on the rear shocks, looks like some bloke upgraded them lol, yellow just looks off
There is another one , the EX I think, which has chrome rear shocks, spoked wheels etc, looks more retro than this RS
