Looks lowered at least in the front. Brave little car :) I have also a yellow VW bug, but more for racing on a good quality aphalt. There is a trend dating to early 1960s - so called Baja Bug - which is a Off Road modified bugs. The trend is taken from a off road competition racing Baja 1000 in the deserts of Southern California.

The engine sound feels a bit strange. I do not remember beetles sounding like that in their home country. And I am old enough that I still remember the roalds full of those cars. Until 1982ish, in Germany, if you saw 3 o 4 cars parking at the sidewalk somewhere, 1 of thos 3 cars was a beetle. The Deutsche Post used them a lot. And they were the beginner car of many families, and after the war the first car many families could afford, until the rise of Opel and Fiat took place...

Thanks you, the tires are 185/60/15. It's a good choice considering the torque available in low rpm
