Your back bacon is a lot like what we call in the "Colonies" Canadian bacon. We put it on pizza with pineapple. Belly bacon is for breakfast or on bacon cheeseburger pizza or bacon lettuce and tomato sandwiches and the like. I'd like to try the NY Coffee sometime but can't get it here. That Trangia cook set works great. Nice vid. Looks like a nice morning.
Started buying gear for hiking and camping for family and have been looking at all manner of gas stoves but just came across these today. Ordered already really like the look of it. Hope ut can cook for 2 adults and 2 kids
This is the smaller one (which is what I have.) The -27 is a bit stretched for two adults, unless they are modest eaters. The -25 is a bit larger, and is better suited for two or more people.
Nice to see you out again mate I'm just back from a tour of the west coast started at Ullapool , Gairloch , Skye, Arisaig then the red squirrel at glencoe had a great time , one thing mate can't have a breakfast without Stornaway black pudding .
I don't know where you find the time to bring us these informative recordings. You are full of enthusiasm and appreciate what Scotland has to offer 👍 I'm convinced you have a secret diamond mine🤣🤣🤣🤣 atb Taff 🤠
a little tip ...never cook anything in cold pan or oil always heat pan ..thn add oil ...thn add ...try it my scottish freind see the diffo you always mak me laugh
I haven’t seen you for a while Jock, good to have you back. I might suggest a better way to light your Trangia burner is to dip a thin twig into the fuel, then light the twig. It catches straight away and can then be used to light the Trangia cooker fuel. Sorted. I’m sure you knew that? Breakfast looked good. Thanks for a great vid.
I've found the non-stick pan for the Trangia 27 to not be very good at the whole 'non-stick' ability. To me, 'non-stick' should mean I can cook bacon or eggs without any oil on the pan whatsoever, just as I can with a cheap non-stick Tefal frying pan, however, I've found that due to the thinness of the material Trangia pans are made from, and the rough coating of Teflon they've given it, that unless you use a decent dollop of oil or butter etc, anything you put on the pan will burn and stick to it very quickly, and will melt your nylon spatula or tongs etc (something that never happens with a Tefal). I'd like to see Trangia take a leaf out of JetBoil's book and manufacture a thicker material pan like the JetBoil Skillet. Overall, whilst the non-stick pan is obviously a damn-sight better than the regular raw aluminium pan, it still requires a good scrubbing after even a couple of rashers of bacon or a single egg.
Trangia make 2 different thicker frying pans to go with this set, one with a fold over welded pressed steel handle and one with a wire handle. There are a lot of accessories if you look on their website. I think Jetboil took a leaf out of Trangias book with their wind proof all in one cook system, not the other way round.
Addendum - he’s using *olive oil, extra-virgin type,* though in a spray container. Good. I have, or can get, that kind of oil, though not in a spray container.
I had to buy it extra in mine. Note that I have the regular aluminum one as well. The two, combined and clipped together, should work well for doing flatbreads with tomato-paste and mozzarella cheese, or “half-baked, gluten-free pizza.” Here’s hoping it doesn’t cause an upset stomach! Watching the vid, though - I’m thinking one might wish the simmer ring for cooking this meal, that or the gas burner set low as it will readily go.
Why oil??? Butter is the best for just about everything. Real taste, not chemicals. Those eggs are a bit old. Fresh eggs the whites sit up and aren’t watery. Mind you it is the UK and little is fresh in the way of food. 😁
I tried the trangia many times now, just cant get on with it ! Slow, messy, smelly, heavy, the stove cant hold enough to cook a proper meal. I had the 27 kit, kept 2 pots from it and binned the rest.
@@chrisince4644 Did it ! Never mind , don't be embarrassed a lot of people were brought up eating shite. Luke warm mushrooms, under cooked, chewy, fatty, bacon and a couple of eggs, after taking over 10 mins, of having to repeatedly take one ingredient out to cook another laughable.
@@Chris66able I'm sorry for my comment, not all of us can carry a complete kitchen out with us, as you obviously must, please except my sincere apologies. How do you figure the mushrooms were luke warm? I'm sure you know better than this guy how he enjoys his bacon, please teach us all how we should be cooking our food. Seriously, you're obviously at the Gordon Ramsay level
@@chrisince4644 Wow what a weak little man you are. Please show where I say I know how he likes his Bacon, although he obviously eats it the way he likes it, under cooked, warm, and fatty. I feel sorry for you if you think the only alternative to a Trangia is a complete kitchen, and knowing how to cook bacon properly puts me on par with Gordon Ramsey ! Now run along, you funny little invertebrate, I wouldn't want you crying.
@@Chris66able couple of points I'd like to make: Resorting to name calling, speaks to your level of maturity. I can't be a man and an invertebrate, pick one and try to stay on point.

Awesome breakfast bro I have that about 6 days a month if I can swing it. Stay safe.
Brilliant! Who needs a Wetherspoon for breakfast when you can do this.

the video makes me smile :)) thank you!
I made that around about 379 sprays of that 1 cal oil. The pounds will be dropping off you. Just kidding, keep the vids coming👍🏼
Feel like there should be a prize for guessing the exact number of sprays
First prize is a pressurised fence sprayer. Use it to oil the pan. It saves getting a sore finger from pumping 379 times on the 1 cal bottle☝️
Nice little cookout Stuart 👍 Your the Ainsley Harriot of the Shire lol 😃
You made my day l will cook some to on my trangia can't beat it well done enjoy l will cheers from Australia

Now, does the 2.5 liter billy-pot work for washing up, once you heat up the water?
Yummy Yummy Yummy

Yes that would've helped, my visceral viewing missed the baked beans and wanted crispier bacon! I like his enthusiasm.
Look at that bacon 👀 wow
Hi ,did the stove last the whole cook or did you have to top it up with more fuel half way through. Thanks jim ps love your down to earth channel 👍

I’ll keep the “oil” in mind when using the nonstick pan.
Would “olive oil” work, or should I get something else? If so, what kind of oil?
Addendum - he’s using *olive oil, extra-virgin type,* though in a spray container.
Good. I have, or can get, that kind of oil, though not in a spray container.
You could replace the trangia set with a couple of birthday cake candles and a roll of tin foil.
🤣🤣👍👍
did u buy none stick pan ? or was it included

Aren't you out this weekend stuart since it's going to be dry
Always great to see you out cooking Stu.

Do you ever use a multi fuel stove .
The mushrooms didn't look very clean....lol

Pro tip, camera angles looking up are NOT a good idea for you. Everyone has their best side, the bottom is not yours. ❤

Why don't you use some real oil? That spray looks like dish soap...
So this video is about you stuffing your face OH how interesting.
bacon was doing breast strokes ffs
