- This Is BAD NEWS For Toyota Rav4 Owners!
-----------------------------
We all know that the Rav4 is one of the best cars to ever be made but everything has its own pros and cons. It has been dominating the market for a long time but there is a reason why Toyota is upgrading it. As much as we all love the current Rav4 model, we need to know that this generation has to be up to date with the rest of the competition. And that is a good thing, at least on paper. But this is also bad news for us for two main reasons. Watch till the end because, with the new upgrade, these new problems are coming.=

Is the Toyota Rav4 the best SUV on the market?🤔
It's very reliable and with today's car prices it's even more important to buy something that is not going to cost you a fortune on the maintenance side.
Sorry it’s ugly end of.❤
Yes, I am going to get the Rav4 in 2 years. I love how big it is. I want toyota to make them even more reliable like they used to be 30 years ago.
@@MilkyWayGalaxyy i got rav4 2017 and wanted to upgrade but i dont see a bit upgrade from rav4 maybe the 2023 or the new next gen of 2025 but im not rush since my rav42017 still kicking
Consider Suburu Forester or Subaru outback
Reliability, 10 year guarantee, and holding its value. Plus it has all the comfort features I need , acc, lane assist heated seats and steeringwheel, ventilated seats , 360 cam ,android auto. Dont need anything else
This video is an extended comercial for Rav4.
Wrong!
It's because the Rav 4 is the most reliable vehicle in its segment and it's finally decent looking.
I bought a Rav 4 hybrid knowing it would be more reliable than any other vehicle in its class and most people that buy Toyota's boring car line up buy because of reliability. It's what everyone mentions when buying a Toyota.
Agree. However, I would rather just get a basic model with AWD and Automatic. All other things are not important to me.
I didn't see any promised bad news in the video. I don't want a car filled with unnecessary and unreliable features. It's great news, that Toyota will keep it simple 🙂
They are both very reliable, but we are just about to buy a used Rav4. The Toyota dealer
is only about 300yds from us, the Honda dealer 15 miles.
Update: We now have our Rav4 and are very pleased with it.
Due to the CAN bus weakness in the current RAV4 I cannot get a good insurance quote. It can be stolen without the key in about 90seconds. Quoted 1800 for the RAV4, compared to 1100 for a CRV. 😢
Shoot. 2023 coming in December 2024?!? I figured there was something “off” with this review when they mentioned 2.0L engine - we just picked up our 2024 RAV4 XLE with 2.5L engine yesterday. And here I was thinking we maybe got a model a year behind - turns out the 2024 was just released about November 2023. It’s so new I can’t find aftermarket rims and add-on fog lights. My only gripe about it is the LED dashboard could have been higher resolution… it’s 2024 afterall.
I own a 2018 RAV4 SE gas powered, and I have 52,000 kilometers on it (31000 miles) and I think I'm going to keep this thing till it dies. I see no sense is all the added bells and whistles (distractions) car manufactures are adding to cars these days. If I need to be controlled by a computer on the car, that steers me from crossing the line on a highway, I shouldn't be "driving". As long as the A/C, heat, and radio works, I'm happy. I have been driving Toyota's since the early 70's, and they are by far, the most reliable vehicle out there, regardless of model. My wife has a 2012 Toyota Camry XLE V6, and it has 200,000 kilometers on it (120,000 miles) and it's barely broken in. We haven't spent a nickle on it other than oil changes, breaks, tires etc. It'll be interesting to see how long the Rav4 will last, so I'm going to stick with ole faithful, to see if she expires on her own, before I do. I don't need to follow the Jones, and as long as the car looks decent and gets me from A to B...reliably, I can't see why I would want to dish out $40,000.00 for another car, with possibly more electronic headaches down the road.
We own a 2019 rav 4 in the UK now has 53k never had a problem stunning car.
A barely 5 year old car with 53k miles shouldn't have any problems. You set the bar too low.
I went from a Subaru to Toyota RAV4 HYBRID,
Some good some bad things I don’t like,
Not real AWD.
Blind spot monitor doesn’t work every time.
Good things
Better MPG
More HP
Still thinking I about going back to a Subaru
53k is peanuts
@@car24dude Id like to go Subaru, but its just not as close in terms of reliability to Toyota
Same
What market are you in?
Are you saying H model and Cruiser model?
I've had '06, '15, and now a '22 hybrid. I love it!!
the truth is newer models are not like the old ones. In every product from computers to cars to motorcycles. 2003 RAV4 i still go up in the mountain never had a problem and i have it like its new. The downside is that it burns a lot of fuel. I'd love to have the new adventure rav4 btw need a new car. i hope the new one be like the old one cause you can easy have it for 20+ years
I love Toyota! I have had a Corolla and a Camry. RAV4 will be my next vehicle.
My 2019 Toyota Camry hybrid has been driven for five years and has more than 40,000 kilometers. I bought it for 35,000 Australian dollars. The current second-hand market price is about 30,000-32,000. Another 2016 Camry hybrid is 34,000, more than 80,000. Kilometers, sold for 28,000 in 2022, Toyota hybrid is practical, fuel-efficient, powerful , cheap to maintain , second-hand incredible value preservation, easy to sell , it is really worth recommending👍, it need take one to two years to order a Toyota hybrid , and I have ordered a Rav4 in two years ago, will get it in this May.
I waited 18 months for my 2.5 l PHEV. I’ve had it 6 months now. Pleasure to drive and 0-60 in 5.8s which is surprisingly quick for a big chunk of metal. No problems at all.
What market is this? I never heard of those models.
I finally found a dealership that agreed to sell for MSRP. Had to wait though.
tbh i dont need more fancy car i just wanted a car that you can rely thru the years and im happy with my toyota rav4 2017
Exactly,i bought a 2014 for those reasons,I don’t need new I need time tested and proven technology.
my Toyota Rav4 2017 got stolen last week, I'm not thrilled with the 2024.
My Mom and I just purchased a new RAV4 gas XLE. I hear a hum coming from the AC when starting the car. Is this normal?
me watching this video after selling my kidneys buying this car 💀
Me watching this still driving a 2005 rav4 D4D ☠☠☠🤣🤌
I just got a 2024 xle…felt.
I mean, look what we had in 2000. why do we need so much more "design upgrades"? Or MORE technology? We as humans have been going to and from work for so very long..... as long as we have music, sight and reliability what more do we NEED? I for one don't live in my vehicle. I just need need it to go to work and back while i make bank.
Love this comment. The constant need to continue "updating/upgrading" everything is bananas. Leave me my personal agency.
One of the best examples of incessant "improvement" is video game graphics and gameplay. Okay, they've peaked. Graphics don't NEED to get any better. We don't NEED new systems. We just need better games, because lo and behold, modern games generally suck. Riddle me that.
3:40, I love my 2016, not a ton of changes in the newer models as far as interior. I feel the new (2020-2024) models are are pretty modern, I dont care for the tesla looks, which is where i feel they may be going watching this video so far
I have got 2021 hybrid with 50k and so far has no issues 🤞
You set the bar too low.
I want the plug in hybrid but more than $50,000.00 U.S. dollars seems a little high for a compact suv.
36k$ so cheap since the base model of RAV4 is 70k$ here in Norway
We bought a new 2018 RAV4 XLE hybrid. Perfect car in every way but the redesigned 2019 forward have many more problems than the previous generation. They are not as reliable. There are better choices out there today in the same price range.
Name two better and more reliable.
Name two problems.
Important is that you can place spare wheel in this car
At 7:52 that is Honda not Hyundai
I don't think these vehicles are very reliable anymore, unless you get one that is made in Japan. I hear people complain about road noise and hard seats.
7:12 You mean 2023?
Cool kids on the block like them Kia's , lol.
Toyota Landcruiser was the best ever but the price was out there.
CR doesn't like the emergency handling.
CR doesn't like anything that I like.
In Canada (where they make the RAV4, the Toyota dealers are telling customers that they will have to wait from 2 to 3 years for their gasoline-powered RAV4 to be delivered, and up to 5 years for the RAV4 hybrid. 5 years ??? It will be a totally different design by then from the design that I originally ordered.
Looked at one recently in the US and they said a month. And had them in stock just not the right color. So its odd they cant get them in Canada.
Toyota dealer said Toyota focused on US market more than Canada
From Toronto. I ordered a gas XLE November 2022 and received it May 2023. Ordered another gas Limited from same dealer in December 2023 and received it about 5 weeks later mid-January 2024
From Toronto, I ordered a 2024 RAV4 XLE (gas) in mid October 2023 and received it on Feb 24, 2024. So the waiting time was around 4 months for me.
Got one in 2 days, with 20.000 euro discount, 4 years old
My Brother just bought a 2024, developed an oil leak at 600 miles. The oil pan was leaking. I have a 2004 Matrix, never had a leak in twenty years. Not the same Toyota. 😢
Oh brother… anecdotal evidence is worthless. In aggregate, they are still extremely reliable vehicles - by some accounts the most reliable available in North America.
@@williamfrench9973I guess you don’t have one - already had a fuel pump recall, there’s over a million views on how to replace the coolant bypass valve because it leaks coolant into the circuit/actuator and the valve gets stuck - dealer charges $1k to replace it and it’s not covered under warranty. I have 37k miles on this pos and I am not happy.
Very rarely do Toyota’s have reliability issues.
The Rav4 is the best idea toyota made
2024 Mazda cx5 is a better choice IMHO .
I mean RAV4 cost like 70k$ were I am from and in USA it's like 30k$ do big difference
US prices are usually quoted without state taxes
I'm a fan of Toyota, but I wish companies would quite calling this particular type of vehicle a SUV. At best, they are a cross between a minivan and a station wagon. When I think of SUV, I think the old Ford Excursion, Chevy Suburban and Toyota's 4 Runner and Land Cruiser. All of these vehicle have something in common, an actual frame to tow.
I think of Rav4 as a Crossover
@@ambivertical I know car manufactures coined the name, but a crossover from what? A station wagon or minivan? And what is it crossing over to?
A car and suv.
Exactly it’s a CROSSOVER between a fwd unibody car and an actual suv rwd body on frame. I call my rav4 the station wagon Camry on stilts😂
Because you can get an AWD in LE format with good features for 29k!! And it is Toyota reliability! Try and get any suv for that money and quality! Can’t do it. But a Nissan with their horrible transmission and you’ll know why this is the best seller. We have one and it goes anywhere you want. Go AWD only because the price is almost the same.
Best rav4 2020-2023 ?
We’re not buying this will wait for next year 2025 this has too many negative good luck to the owners
yes you should be sorry, the safety recall in Dec last year still not rectified up to the present moment which is 5 months already, in the past, toyota is not like that, they fix problems fast but now, don't know what they are doing at all. Toyota is not reliable as in the past anymore.
I don’t understand all the bells and whistles they add to cars either. Don’t think they’re necessary. Reliability and music and cruise control is all I care for.
Yes, rats just love to eat the wiring and anything else made of Soy or Corn in your Toyota. No, the Damage is all on you--do get the $100 deductible and expect to have to drive a rental for 2-3 weeks. Which will cost you hundreds more $$$$. Plus, do expect to have to go through this at least 3-4 times a year. Is this the best SUV --Sure when it is out of the repair shop.
IHAVE A RAV4 PETROL.YOU CAN STICK THE EV UP YOUR JAKSY.
😂👌
Looks like it's been designed by a four year old.
Stop using metric units. It offends us normal people in the U.S.!!
USA offended, rest of world, no problem 😂😂😂
