Sometimes life just has other plans for you, and it's amazing when it works out! Going with the flow is the best way to travel. That emergency passport took you on such a great adventure. Not only did you get to camp in the Sahara, which few people can say they have even seen, but you also got rained on in the Sahara which is rarer still...and you experienced it all on your birthday...PRICELESS! And you formed friendships for a lifetime! A fun fact about Morocco, Morocco was the first nation to publicly acknowledge American independence, allowing American flag-flying ships in their ports on December 20, 1777. France was the first in general as Louis XVI said he recognized the US on December 6, but he didn't sign the treaty.
This is so freaking cool. One of my favorite quotes from Brad Sham is that “you never know the end of the story while you’re standing in the middle of it.”
Luke shows us, that where ever you go in this world, there are some fantastic people, that welcome you with open arms. Well done Luke, love the videos, love the people you meet.
To think just a couple of hundred miles away people were being murdered by the government of Morocco. How on earth did you just not mention that? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Western_Sahara
I am a believer in that too. We missed a flight to Barcelona so we went to Rome. Since we had already been to Rome, it was way more relaxing than if we had gone to Barcelona. The stress of a new place.
He ended up in one of the most controversial places on earth. With one of the sadist stories of genocide and violence and he didn't even seem to notice.

Things always happen for a reason . Without visa rejection you wouldn’t live fascinating experience in the Moroccan Sahara . Much thanks for the Moroccan guy who hosted you . Hospitality is deeply rooted in Moroccans
Ye specially when real refugees come and they rob them when they are sleeping. Netherlands, Belgium go look it up before you go nuts and call me a racist conspiracy theorist!!!!
Your videos are healing I also believe that everything happens for a reason, especially while travelling when I had similar situations to yours and ended up having amazing unexpected experiences !
I think if you used and uploaded your filled American passport details/scan then the visa would've been approved. Even if the US embassy punched holes in your old passport, I'm sure you must've had a scan on your PC. If you showed up at the border with your emergency passport you would've been ~85% let through. India's visa application uses a lot of AI and it must not have recognized the rare US emergency passport and sort of auto-rejected. Visiting the Indian Embassy in Europe would've been the better play. Either way cool adventure! Highly recommend India, its an amazing place to travel to for sure.
As an American who has lived in India for 3 years now on a business visa, I wouldn’t try that. Ive lived in 4 other countries before this, and traveled to about 40. I can say from my experience that India is so far the biggest pain to enter/exit from. If you’re not using a diplomatic passport or in business class then the process will really test your patience and that’s with having all your affairs in working order.
@@azero2 I have also been to India a few times - but on a tourist visa not business. I personally always had a good and smooth experience, but I’m sure it depends on the agent you get. Maybe business visa people get more scrutiny or you went to a country that is a security risk for them. Not sure
I love seeing a young person out there learning the joys of going with the flow! It's amazing what can happen when you just take it as it comes. Great content, subbed!

Oh wow 😮. What an amazing adventure you had. You are blessed you found fun, wonderful people to celebrate your birthday with in a beautiful place🎉👏🏻. Thanks for sharing
I just came across this channel and immediately noticed how when you’re in public you’ll often cut the clips right before a person looked towards the camera and some right before their entire face is shown. I know it’s not world changing but it’s still a hell of a lot better than showing every strangers face for good chunks of time or with them noticing the camera then becoming visibly uncomfortable. Like You’re travel vlogging but in the way that it’s supposed to be done. Just Film the scenery and travels while also being respectful to the people and culture around you. Mad respect dude! UA-cam did me a solid recommending this channel to me.
You are young and in your prime, this is the perfect time to go exploring, adventuring, and visiting/traveling. Good for you buddy, and thank you so very much for sharing all of your experiences in reality!
Awesome, Luke. I've had the pleasure of getting lost in Morocco a few times and I absolutely love the country and the people. I'm glad you had a good time!
I have no idea who you are, and have never ever seen any of your other videos, but for some reason, the UA-cam algorithm recommended me this video. Wow. I was blown away. This video is absolutely AMAZING. I hope you do get to do your planned trip to India soon, but either way, it looks like you had a blast in Morocco!
You are incredible and resourceful. The situations you find yourself in are incredibly tricky to navigate and it's amazing you share this with us all. A true inspiration
This video popped up out of nowhere for me, since I hadn’t followed or known of this channel previously, and I was truly inspired by this video and subsequently this channel. The video was incredibly personal, where I felt almost like someone standing on your shoulder observing and experiencing what you’d had, and makes me wonder about how I’m currently living life…in an internship, finishing up college, and wondering what I will do with myself.
For someone with zero chill, you absolutely amaze me. The way you make it all seem so easy and natural, to make connections with people like that. I went on a spontaneous weekend trip to stay in a campervan with $15 return plane tickets and I spent the majority of the trip on the verge of a panic attack, assuming everything would go wrong. It didn't, of course. I want to live more like this. I will say though, as a woman I do get a little scared sometimes, I don't think I would be so brave but part of that is to protect myself. so idk..
To be honest it's perfectly normal to feel the way you feel in the modern world; but you can ask yourself "should it be that hard" and sometimes the answer is "no". My gf had the same thoughts about travelling and safety in general, turned out it was not only plain justified fear, but with a good load of anxiety added on top of it. She's still working on it, but says she didn't even know life can be this much easier before she looked for help on that.
You're so lucky to experience something like this most people will never be able too. Don't take anything for granted, I feel blessed that my grandparents took me to see 42 states. We'd travel every time we would have time out of school. I remember all of it even though I was young.
It's actually really cheap to do international travel like this for I did that by teaching English. One doesn't need to be wealthy to go, but you just need the time away from work and not have other constraints like family telling you can't just up and go do whatever you want. I'm a single guy all my life so it was very doable for me to see the world. I'd still do it at 50 if I had more than $1000 a month income. That used to be enough money to be in other countries without keeping an apartment in the US where I'd leave things at my mom's then a storage after she passed away 10 years ago. I used to get $300 one way flights going thousands of miles on Expedia and score $5 to $10 a night rooms either by meeting locals or using Hostelworld website. It's as simple as get a passport, carry some cash and cards, read up and watch videos, apply for any necessary visas, then book flight and just go.
@@Worldofourown2024 It's not just money though. I'm sure it can be easy to travel cheap but as a woman? I would never be safe doing this. Especially like just getting a place to stay from some random person online and in morocco? It would be so dangerous for women. AND ESPECIALLY when travelling alone. So as much as I'd like to do this, even if I had the money I couldn't
@@inka-on6mt I've met lots of single women backpacker international travelers. They can travel OK by not being flirty and dating, but by just being themselves like a dude does too. People know if you're out to foolishly get in trouble or if you'r'e being wise and level headed. However is Middle East countries like Egypt, solo Western female travelers are not very well respected and do often get harrassed with tit pinching and such. Me, a solo male traveler, was heckled and harrased to no end, but never physically touched. Egypt was the rudest country. I do imagine it would not be safe for a solo female to go alone to North African and Middle East countries, but woudl be fine most everywhere else.
@@patriciamartin7268 No, I don't either. Most Americans never get to see the Grand Canyon or take a trip. I imagine most Americans never driver more than 40 miles from home, but car trip to go camping or fishig is about the extent of most Americans vacation in all of their lives. I too want to travel and participate in life, but it's the money and debt economic system that prevents us from really actualizing in life.
Absolutely gutted by the previous video's removal, especially considering how your videos always inspire me despite any possible life problems to look forward to potential travels and doing something new, they are generally such feel good wholesome inspirational videos. This video started so chaotic 😂and ended even more chaotic, but in an unexpectedly beautiful way. So happy to witness your experience on a path less traveled by many of us watching.
Wow! Wow. Even living vicariously through you, through this UA-cam video, I feel like I've just experienced the kind of incredible adventure that Hollywood movies, reality tv, and even some commercials try to replicate but never truly succeed in delivering. This is a unique video, of its own right. The title drew me in because I wanted to know what a Purple US Passport could possibly be. The video kept me in, because it had something special in it. Something special which I'm not sure could ever be described accurately by any title. I have a "Favorites" playlist from the days of yore, when early UA-camrs asked you to "Rate 5 stars and favorite the video." This video has earned a place in that list. It may not be any sort of recognizable accolade to you, but trust me, you, your adventure, and the video you've given to us, to me... this video touched my heart in a very unique way. --Thank you.
i love your willingness to explore the lesser-known parts of the world and show a completely unbiased view of your experience. your life is truly one of ideals, nothing you do is a waste of time, every second is cherished.
You know, I do believe this to be my favourite video of yours thus far, for the sheer normalcy of its slice of life presentation. There is nothing magnanimous, but thoughtful, soothing, and compassionate in tone and style as you continuously bob and weave through the threaded chapters of your tapestry, a quintessential ode to the journey. Keep up the good work. :)
This is really wholesome and inspiring. I hope to travel the world like that myself soon, and it feels good actually seeing that even if something very big goes wrong, it is possible to experience incredible unplanned adventures because of it. Happy birthday man!
I click on this video thinking I would just skip to the answer and get out. Instead, I literally paused what I was doing and watch intently filled with emotion like I was watching a movie. What an awesome video. Better story structure than 90% of the movies out there
after clicking on this video I was thinking this was going to be another one of those videos... I was completely surprised. He is a great story teller and this video just feels good. I cannot explain it, it is wierd. I hope he does not stop and continues to grow himself as a content creator, director and dreamer. I will be watching more videos and I think I will not be let down. I dont know if his channels are the only funding he has for his travels or where it might come from. He is making every dollar count for sure. Keep it up. Still just blown away....

He missed out the part where he mentioned that no other country on earth regards where he visited as Morocco as the Moroccans drove most the population into the desert after their brutal invasion in 1975 leading to a brutal war that continues to this day. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Western_Sahara

Amazing video once again Luke! Honestly one of the most authentic and meaningful storytellers and UA-camrs on the platform. This is the shift back to content we need more of.
I watch A LOT of content on UA-cam. This is HANDS DOWN the best video I’ve ever seen. Seriously. Just from the standpoint of making lemonade when you got handed lemons (passport sitch) and saying “f it - I’m going to Morocco” then seeing the trust in mankind and seeing the spirit of adventure and just embracing it all. Dude. Amazing. There is just something that brings people super close when they trust each other like this. Absolute blind faith. Sometimes it doesn’t work but when it does - magic. This was magic. I spent about 20 years after college traveling through Africa, China, Japan and various other spots. As a woman, of course, I had to be a bit more careful, but traveling alone allowed people to approach me when they wouldn’t if I had been in a group. It’s important to be flexible and able to handle ambiguity, but also be open to speaking with anyone and careful to be respectful of other cultures. Most people are just people curious to know who you are and what you are doing. They want to share their world with you.

@messagemeontelegramriffhar9790 shut UP bro! you're weird!
This is so freaking cool. One of my favorite quotes from Brad Sham is that “you never know the end of the story while you’re standing in the middle of it.”

This unexpected friendship with these beautiful people is so wonderful.
Luke shows us, that where ever you go in this world, there are some fantastic people, that welcome you with open arms. Well done Luke, love the videos, love the people you meet.
It's back! So happy to see it again!
Loved it both times i watched

this made me smile from ear to ear. what a gift for storytelling and capturing reality. We need so much more of this on UA-cam.
i can’t put a finger on all the emotions this video made me feel, but i’m crying, this was so heartwarming
To think just a couple of hundred miles away people were being murdered by the government of Morocco. How on earth did you just not mention that? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Western_Sahara
I'm a firm believer things happen for a reason! It's nice to see you had a great time and adventure with new friends in Morocco!
I am a believer in that too. We missed a flight to Barcelona so we went to Rome. Since we had already been to Rome, it was way more relaxing than if we had gone to Barcelona. The stress of a new place.

You mean Western Sahara ?
Your videos are healing
I also believe that everything happens for a reason, especially while travelling when I had similar situations to yours and ended up having amazing unexpected experiences !
Highly recommend India, its an amazing place to travel to for sure.
clever
Not sure
India has shit on the streets, what kind of AI are you talking about?
I love seeing a young person out there learning the joys of going with the flow! It's amazing what can happen when you just take it as it comes. Great content, subbed!

I'm from Morocco and I agree!
Wow. I'm a 58 yr old woman in Canada watching this. This was amazing. So many feels... Truly special, so happy for you. Thank you for sharing.

Same experience for me! I just watch Luke in awe of the way he lives his life! He is definitely an inspiration to us all!
The scariest thing in this world is your own thoughts, perspective and attitude. Try to change those and you will watch the world change
This is so far the most heart warming video, I have watched on UA-cam. ❤️
Saving this epic video from algorithmic failure 🙌🏽
PS “I wish I understood” #relatable 😂
great seeing your comment :)))))
UA-cam can try to take the video away, but they can NEVER take away the experiences you had or the friends you made along the way.

I agree. We don’t have the money to travel. Not even to take a vacation inside the US.😢
@@patriciamartin7268 No, I don't either.

Wow!
And for the record, now I want to visit Morocco, so thanks.
This is really wholesome and inspiring.
I hope to travel the world like that myself soon, and it feels good actually seeing that even if something very big goes wrong, it is possible to experience incredible unplanned adventures because of it.

This is so amazing! I would love to travel the world like you do but it's so different being a woman. You are so inspiring!
