This made me cry, I’m from a village in Eastern Europe, I grew up with in my grandmothers house, left the country when I was 10, and now at 27 I’m still travelling around the world, seeing this made me think about my grandmother and how I should visit her asap, my next flight will be Lithuania so I can see her again

9:30 I'm a grown up man and that lady Yelena literally made me cry with her generosity. She met complete strangers, foreigners, closed her shop to make them tea and cookies just because they remind her of her sons. WOW! Something you can only see in post comunist countries in my humble opinion.
@maurice2014 and no that same generosity cannot be found in the same big towns tourist go to its off the beaten path for the most part, yes it does happen in hig areas but you are less likely to have this experience unless you do the lesser known experience.
The mother must have been so happy to see someone who looked so much like her deceased son. Must have felt like fate for her and another chance to see him. gosh it made me cry buckets. ❤
That's probably why she immidiately invited them for tea, seeing someone look exactly like her son, though not the deceased one, probably moved her a lot.

Gosh I cried. Really. This is one of the most heartwarming and wholesome things I've seen in a long time. That sweet grandma just got her eyes' operation paid because she was kind without expecting anything in return. Just by sharing kindness and love so her new visitors and herself didn't feel lonely. Just by letting the universe do its job. Happiness really is a choice for sure. What a lesson. I hope to still be able to meet her one day and tell her how I got teared up watching this
I may be late to the party, but wow. Didn't expect to tear up today but I did. The fact that the old lady just took you in, no questions asked and treated you like family, and that you went ahead and paid her surgery, that's the sweetest thing I have seen on YT since a very long time. This was literally SO heartwarming, to see an unknown country have such sweet people AND to win against the best football team in the world is amazing, even with the country being poor, the people have a spirit that not too many people have.
Little fact, country is not poor, they are rebuilding their city center which was not shown here and have backing from a bunch of rich sympathizers. last time i was there they started building quite a few modern tall buildings. my mom was there recently and they are starting to look more like a city than a backwater town

It’s not necessarily that people don’t show it, but you just need to travel and talk and interact with people. That’s the idea behind yes theory there’s goodness everywhere just need to find it.
American here. I just visited Transnistria the other day, and It was the most beautiful experience I’ve ever had. The people there were so kind, and I got many hugs and made lifelong connections and friends there. It is easy to visit, and I highly suggest everyone should go! :)
Also American. Wondering, did you have any issues crossing border? I just learned my girlfriend is from this place. She just told me earlier Moldova. Now I find out she was born in Transnistria and family is still there 😄 Looking forward to it, but a little anxious about Russian troop presence.
I have a buddy from Transnistria. He travels on a Russian passport and most of the time when people ask where he's from he just says Russia. It's too much hassle to explain the truth. He has that same giving energy you see in this video. If he visits your house he repays you by fixing something that's broken, or doing whatever clean up or heavy lifting needs doing. I am so happy to see a video that shows his country in a good light.
Russian people in generell are super lovely and helpful people, especiall the women but men too. See, each country has amazing , heartwarming people and traditions thats why we should give and take just the best of ourselves into the world to make it a better place for all of us :) PS most russians will also invite you to their home and actually give you lots of amazing food, alcohol if you want to and a place to sleep for how long you want to. Same goes for arab and turkish people, they all sit togather and me as a german in the middle of them eating from 1 big plate was such a good feeling , like family, like home, but with "foreign" people. Thats what friendship is all about.

@Deep Melodic ProdZ as russian who lives in Russia, I can tell you that attitude of Russian people towards black people is strange. the strangest thing is that we dont really have a word for black people and the hard n word is somehow stayed for a word meaning black person but when we say that, we dont mean the same as American people there is not much racist component in it russians treat it as just a word. second thing is that black people often participate in anecdotes and shit like that. also because of our ussr mentality, a lot of people from older generation started not liking black people because of blm lootings and because ghettos are usually the most criminal places in USA cities, they just don’t have internet to see what are the reasons of it and etc. just want to say that if you are black in Russia, you will be feeling safe and calm, but sometimes people will point fingers at you because you are so different and say the hard n word but not meaning to somehow offend you. also you will get a lot of interest from younger generation and some of them will ask you for a photo or insta. (tbh when i myself first saw a black person, I behaved kinda same way because im not from Moscow and these things are rare af)

I went to Moldova and then went to Transnistria 14 years ago. People were so friendly in those parts. They are quite poor but have big hearts. Had nightmares with the border police entering both Moldova and Transnistria. Glad things have improved.

I have a friend whose family is Transnistrian. He returns annually, and intends on bringing me over for a week just outside Tiraspol. I truly appreciate the work on this video.
ive noticed a trend that basically every elderly person, that we see on camera at least, is the kindest person out there. while its obviously not only elderly people. to know they have lived through so much and still came out as giving, and accepting of others. is just nice to see all of the older people being seen and heard, when the sad reality is so many older people are just sort of forgotten by everyone around them, especially if they outlive all of the people they grew up with and built their lives with.
Many of euro-descendant countries have this horrible culture "against" elderly people. If you take a look at latinamerican or asian cultures, you can see so so much respect and care is given to those older people, because at the end of the day it is them who are the wisest and that is something we should take care of. Really hope more people thought of family that way.
Well I am an Indian who had been to this country for 24 hours back in April 2024 and trust me guys the people I met were so welcoming; I was lost in the city and had no internet. I wanted to head back to Chisinau to my hostel and I had no clue on where I needed to board the bus, a shopkeeper got to know about my situation and asked one of his pals to look after his shop and accompanied me to the bus stand and spoke all the way on how good he felt that I had visited his country. These are the moments I travel for; a small gesture but it made my trip most memorable one❤

I tried entering Transnistria on December of 2022. I had my camera and a couple lenses - a 24-70 and a 70-200 (chonky boi). The big lens immediately caught the attention of the military at the border, they then asked me lots of questions about my visit and then just rejected my entry. I´m just a guy who loves traveling and doing street photography when doing so. I was so intrigued by the place and its history and was quite sad when I couldn´t enter. I´m trying again this December, anyway. Thank you for sharing!

It actually seemed like it. Here in europe, people would absolutely FLIP their shit if given the equivalent to what she was given. Her reaction at the end when given the money makes me think she is a very very wise woman. She realizes money for what it probably is, nothing. And also realizes the true worth of life, which is spending time living, together with people you love.

That sweet grandma just got her eyes' operation paid because she was kind without expecting anything in return. Just by sharing kindness and love so her new visitors and herself didn't feel lonely. I may be late to the party, but wow. Didn't expect to tear up today but I did. The fact that the old lady just took you in, no questions asked and treated you like family, and that you went ahead and paid her surgery, that's the sweetest thing I have seen on YT since a very long time. It kind of reminds me of my childhood when visiting my family in Poland in the late 2000's/early 10's, but amplified tenfold

American here. I just visited Transnistria the other day, and It was the most beautiful experience I’ve ever had. The people there were so kind, and I got many hugs and made lifelong connections and friends there. It is easy to visit, and I highly suggest everyone should go! :)

I have a buddy from Transnistria. He travels on a Russian passport and most of the time when people ask where he's from he just says Russia. It's too much hassle to explain the truth. He has that same giving energy you see in this video. If he visits your house he repays you by fixing something that's broken, or doing whatever clean up or heavy lifting needs doing. I am so happy to see a video that shows his country in a good light.

See, each country has amazing , heartwarming people and traditions thats why we should give and take just the best of ourselves into the world to make it a better place for all of us :) PS most russians will also invite you to their home and actually give you lots of amazing food, alcohol if you want to and a place to sleep for how long you want to. Same goes for arab and turkish people, they all sit togather and me as a german in the middle of them eating from 1 big plate was such a good feeling , like family, like home, but with "foreign" people. second thing is that black people often participate in anecdotes and shit like that. also because of our ussr mentality, a lot of people from older generation started not liking black people because of blm lootings and because ghettos are usually the most criminal places in USA cities, they just don’t have internet to see what are the reasons of it and etc.
just want to say that if you are black in Russia, you will be feeling safe and calm, but sometimes people will point fingers at you because you are so different and say the hard n word but not meaning to somehow offend you. also you will get a lot of interest from younger generation and some of them will ask you for a photo or insta. (tbh when i myself first saw a black person, I behaved kinda same way because im not from Moscow and these things are rare af)

I went to Moldova and then went to Transnistria 14 years ago. People were so friendly in those parts. They are quite poor but have big hearts. Had nightmares with the border police entering both Moldova and Transnistria. Glad things have improved.

ive noticed a trend that basically every elderly person, that we see on camera at least, is the kindest person out there. while its obviously not only elderly people. to know they have lived through so much and still came out as giving, and accepting of others. is just nice to see all of the older people being seen and heard, when the sad reality is so many older people are just sort of forgotten by everyone around them, especially if they outlive all of the people they grew up with and built their lives with.

Many of euro-descendant countries have this horrible culture "against" elderly people. If you take a look at latinamerican or asian cultures, you can see so so much respect and care is given to those older people, because at the end of the day it is them who are the wisest and that is something we should take care of. Really hope more people thought of family that way.

Well I am an Indian who had been to this country for 24 hours back in April 2024 and trust me guys the people I met were so welcoming; I was lost in the city and had no internet. I wanted to head back to Chisinau to my hostel and I had no clue on where I needed to board the bus, a shopkeeper got to know about my situation and asked one of his pals to look after his shop and accompanied me to the bus stand and spoke all the way on how good he felt that I had visited his country. These are the moments I travel for; a small gesture but it made my trip most memorable one❤

I happen to have visited it in 2007, just before I left my home country Moldova and had about the same experience. 17 years later and I sense nothing much has changed for these people. I am literally in tears. This showed me that humanity still exists like the kindness and love they radiate is unbelievable and the way they make you feel loved amd wanted is just great. I would like to visit this country so much.
There should be more people like them, not only the 2 hosts with hearts of gold but also the locals, who were so friendly and lovely that I cant even begin to describe it. These kinds of videos makes anyone feel good about being human. Why arent these more popular than the negative news? They should be.
I tried entering Transnistria on December of 2022. I had my camera and a couple lenses - a 24-70 and a 70-200 (chonky boi). The big lens immediately caught the attention of the military at the border, they then asked me lots of questions about my visit and then just rejected my entry.
I´m just a guy who loves traveling and doing street photography when doing so. I was so intrigued by the place and its history and was quite sad when I couldn´t enter.
I´m trying again this December, anyway.

It actually seemed like it. Here in europe, people would absolutely FLIP their shit if given the equivalent to what she was given. Her reaction at the end when given the money makes me think she is a very very wise woman.
She realizes money for what it probably is, nothing. And also realizes the true worth of life, which is spending time living, together with people you love.
It seemed like she was lonely and missing her family. She probably has many grandchildren who all moved away.
