wow i love these neurology videos!. I have recently had a very serious spinal surgery, caused by an aneurysmal bone cyst in T4. It compressed my spinal cord and i lost mobility almost fully within 1 week, i got an emergency flight to the biggest hospital in the country and had a 7 hour operation. its 6 months since but it feels like yesterday. i am now on crutches and just recently got home. my mobility is improving and im on crutches and am able to walk without them at home. watching videos like this are just so interesting and informing. thanks man really cool
You have a way of explaining things better then anybody else I’ve come across. Can you possibly make a video about Multiple Sclerosis? My husband suffers from PPMS and I would LOVE to see your explanation! Thanks.
This is excellent work and superb explanations. In 8 minutes, I was able to understand the basics. I read the entire chapter about the nervous system and listened through my instructor's lecture for 45 minutes and still didn't understand. Thank you so much! You're awesome!
The nervous system is a topic that I really didn't put the time and effort to learn when taking my prereqs for nursing school. I got accepted into the nursing school last semester and it made me want to go over topics from ANATOMY and PHYSIOLOGY. I start my second semester in two weeks so i'm going to put in the work to review the nervous system. Good luck to all the students taking anatomy and physiology right now and remember to take these classes very seriously.
Very helpful video. Set out in a way that is easily understandable and concise, but also provides enough detail to properly grasp all the concepts. Thank you.
your video's are going to be the single reason I get through my physiology & microbiology courses with a passing grade - they're great, thank you so much for posting ! cheers
Recently found your channel and I am absolutely impressed by your explanations, great work! I am currently doing my A-Levels (Germany) with focus on the human body/ health and it really helps to just revise things by watching your videos. However, I've got a little add to this video: maybe it would be better to say that the heart does not depend on innervation through the autonomic nervous system as it works independent (just to avoid wrong spectations). Best wishes!
Hello, wow, your videos are helping me A LOT!!!! I'm writing an assigment for chemistry and biology which translated means "The structure and functioning of the nervous system in relation to pain signals". I'm focusin in mild pain as headache, then I'm argumenting: "The effect and side effects of over-the-counter painkillers vs. Complementary Alternative Medicine as accupressure for headaches"... I have to write a synopsis of three pages. I'm a bit stuck in how to build it. I started by explaining the nervous system, CNS & PNS, then => how pain occurs => I'll talk about the nociceptive system, but then I got stuck again, because what I understand is that we experience pain because external influences on the body are sabotaged and processed in the CNS in several different ways, so when it comes to headaches (I saw your video abouth the different headaches) I don't know how to preceed... About migraine I know that migraines occur because the pain-relieving system is affected and therefore does not work properly, but psychological conditions such as stress also play an important role ... but because these people have a reduced production of beta-endorphins, their pain-relieving system with enkephalin and endorphins does not work optimally. I feel I'm missing how to explain the co-relation about headcache and pain signals to the brain. Any hint please?? Thanks in advance ^_^
you make it way easy ! I've been learning nerves names my whole life sensory and motor branches thinking one for movement and the other for sense and both to the brain direction !!...I love your videos ,your drawing and the perfect spell you have thank you !
Great video! Your videos are always so good! Your channel is one of the inspirations behind my own channel, except I can't draw like you. :) Keep up the great work!
you are amazing I bet you don't do teaching as your profession. why are people that aren't good at teaching teachers where as people like you amazing explainers are only on youtube...thank you so much finally understand
Thanks, orgasms are always good. Yes i have a few videos on biochem. you must search it on my channel. Its a playlist full of biochemical pathways, etc. Good luck!
Got a question - I am sure you must have explained this somewhere - how a signal from the brain reaches the target muscle? There are so many branches in the nervous system, like a signal intended for middle finger, why it does not take a wrong route and reach the little finger? What is the mechanism here? (I am a layman, so the question could seem very basic). Thanks.
Your Videos are Great! But i suggest you do an in depth video based on the Sympathetic and Parasympathetic Subdivisions of the Autonomic Nervous System, ex. Neurotransmitters, Ganglion, and all that other good stuff :)
My question is ~ If the art of the peripheral nervous system is to send and receive information, from and to the central nervous system. Then, what are we observing in an autistic child? The central nervous system is recieving information from the enviroment by way of the sensory canals? When observing a young infant, we can see by the movement of the fingers, that, the central nervous system is being relayed information about the enviroment. Given the amount of frequency distortions in the enviroment, it is not difficult to understand the rate at which autism is spreading through the human form? You are an amazing person.
