    I have heard that the oil pressure light comes on way to late on the vxr resulting in damage before the warning comes on. And when starting the car after filling the oil back up iv always thought a good idea is to take off the coilpack plug to build pressure in the engine before trying to start it up as there were a few not good noises happening there which sounded like damage occurring

    Sorry to see this, nothing worse than something that you've modified to improve the car fails. Not sure if they still sell them but i got a good kit from gizfab the lines bolt on as additional to original they give you double banjo bolts and found the lines long enough to fit where i wanted the cooler to go.

      Gutted for you too mate, it sucks doesn't it! Tbh I'm glad it happened now, a few miles from home not on the track day I had booked 3 hours away. Definitely don't want to oil down a track, ruin it for myself and everyone else there, and be stranded miles away from home.

  • @ALs_Autos
    @ALs_Autos Рік тому

    It was only a matter of time running stock rods and the anti lag etc anyway, time to make it stronger man 🤟 surprised there was no safety function built into the ecu master, sprogley intake is not great heard a lot of similar issues

    • @JamesBalazs
      @JamesBalazs  Рік тому +1

      Yeah was just betting on it surviving about a year before I could forge it when I was ready - unfortunately it's decided it was ready to drain my savings on its own 😂
      There is an oil pressure cut-off but its usefulness depends how you look at it - if your ECU kills the engine on a blind bend on a 70 road, you might end up with a written off car stopped there rather than just a blown engine if it lets you drive it to safety
      In this case, and on track, it would've been helpful. On a different day, who knows 🤷‍♂️ I'll probably be turning that on though when I get it back, blowing a stock engine is one thing but ruining a forged one has to hurt even more

    When I have these kits I sometimes find the hoses are not long enough to allow a lot engine movement..

    • @JamesBalazs
      @JamesBalazs  Рік тому +1

      Yep I found the same - if you want to mount it central the hoses don't reach, and if you mount it further to one side to give extra slack they hit the headlight so you can't really win. Theres very little engine movement in mine since it's on vibratechnics mounts but it could cause problems on a lot of cars.

    Personally i would not go to rusty. Had a mate that had and engine done by them and it lost compression 4 times. He has gave up and went to RnD who started there life’s as engineers in machining which says alot about their ability

      Tbh I'd never heard a bad word about Rusty before now, searched owners groups and all their reviews are 5*
      Sounds bad, but it's already with them and I'm guessing RnD would've had months wait leaving me without a car if I'd taken it anywhere else really.

    Varför starta upp den när inte LMM är kopplad?

    • @JamesBalazs
      @JamesBalazs  Рік тому

      It doesn't have an LMM/MAF, it's on a standalone ECU.
      At high flow rates MAF readings are relatively inaccurate, whereas the standalone uses a wideband oxygen sensor to fine tune fuelling rather than MAF.

    Don’t waste your time with those Barb fittings for an oil cooler, get the right AN lines with the fittings and delete the rear oil cooler… absolutely waste of time those kits, shame Giz doesn’t do his kit anymore because I have that one and it’s the proper stuff!
