    This video we showcase the Cajun Bandit riser ring and do a hanging rack of ribs using B’s rubs for seasoning. Finished product came out so good - didn't need to add any bbq sauce.

    Really like the hanging rack too! I just ordered a rack similar to that but haven’t used it yet.
    This inspired me to plan on a hangin rib cook on my 22” WSM.

      Thank you for watching. I have to say the rack of ribs was in my top 3 of favorites of all time. They came out so tender and delicious. Thank you for commenting on my health- I can’t say enough about my Doctors - although we may never know what caused my heart to loose pressure- through the miracle of medicine and prayer - I have recovered and only have to see my Doctor once a year now.

      Not sure if you remember me, but I remember when you we’re going through that ordeal. I went through that myself. Heart only pumping at 25% after a valve replacement. I’ve since improved also with my heart pumping at 55%.
      I know how you feel. Looks like we got many more years (God willing) of cooking and making videos 😎👍

    That’s a really cool extension ring, I can see all sorts of possibilities for something like that. The bones came out great Louis! I’ve got the gateway hanging rack and it does work a charm. Hope you have a great memorial weekend!

      Thank you for watching. I love the hanging method and now I am finding out that it really is not necessary to wrap as long as you keep monitoring them.

    Louis This is a 5 Star video I am a Big Fan of Phil's, I purchased one of those rings to experiment with.
    One thing I wanted try was using firedial on flange for water pan. You proofed it will work, and now I might want to try water pan also, more experimentation. I have not used my Wsm yet because of all the experimentation on the kettle. My wsm is an exact duplicate to Phil's. I would like you to check out aura kettle zone system. It is like one layer divide and conquer like kamato Joe. You put that in kettle with Cajon bandit ring you have something special, I will put stainless dog bowl use one of Craigs naked basket from woodshed bbq, use snake around dog bowl, It's like easy clean Wsm. Other things I would like to try with ring is rotisserie. I want to experiment with ring and upper section of wsm. At least now I know clearance is perfect with extension ring and firedial. Your Ribs came out Fantastic.
    Last curiosity these ribs how do they compare to your rec tec. I have to go next video on someone's doing wings on his Ribulater.

I honestly thought that a pellet grill produced the best ribs -- until now - these actually came out better than the ones I have done on my Rec Tec. I want to do some comp style baby backs now on the hanging system to see if they would fly for a comp style.

      Louis at R shack BBQ I don’t think I’ll ever give up my WSM. I may put new legs and ash pan under her, a dome thermometer, hinge lid, lid seal, stainless door, Amazon even has probe port grommets and handles on the center section. Thinking of a charcoal basket like the one Arbor Fabricating with minion insert an a couple stressed steel cooking grates. I’c give up my PB Classic first before the WSM. Keep my 25 year old Genesis 1000, my PB Series 3 pellet cabinet and my 10 year old WSM. Those 3 would do me well on my 8x10 patio here at the apartment. You take take my friend.

    Love that riser Louis. It’s nice that you can hang the ribs and still use the water pan. Let me know if you find a good deal on a 22. It’s time for me to upgrade. Great looking ribs and I’ll definitely check out b’s rubs. Have a great weekend brother.

    Excellent cooks. really like the CJ products, but unfortunately there are not really affordable to order. Maybe one day i can make me one :)

    There’s one like this on Amazon that actually has a door on the front of it so you could open it if you need to. Do you think that would make it too flimsy it looks pretty good?

    Did you make that expanded metal bottom grate that you placed over your charcoal grate? Or did you buy it somewhere?

      Thank you for watching. Yes I did - I found the expanded metal at a metal retailer in their remnant area - then traced the charcoal grate with a marker and cut it with my hand grinder with a cut off wheel.
