I was raised in Florida and have been here all my life. Back in 2013 I took a 4 day trip to Washington state because I wanted to see what it was like. I flew into SEATAC international airport then rented a car and drove all the way to a red lion hotel in Port Angeles. Spent a few days and nights there while I toured the area and drove around highway 101 on my way to Olympic National Park. The day before I departed I rode the black ball ferry line across the straits of Juan de Fuca and crossed the international border into Victoria Island, Canada. I have to say I really like the scenery of Washington state. I am seriously considering selling my home in Florida as I am tired of hurricanes and the costs associated with them and moving to Washington state when I retire. The only drawback is the price of housing is considerably higher than it is in East Central Florida where I live now. I am also tired of the corrupt GOP politics dominating the state of Florida and would only really consider moving to state with a democratic (or center left) governor or a democratically controlled state legislature.
Thank you for commenting and watching! Glad you love the beautiful state of Washington, it is truly wonderful. Feel free to reach out if you have questions about living in the area or buying a house
Hi, how are the mosquitos in SW WA vs Seattle area? And as for the people, would you say the majority are pretty even-keeled, or is there an abundance of the diesel trucks vs rainbow flag crowds? thx
Thanks or commenting. Honestly have not noticed a difference for mosquitoes. We don't have that many here in the city. If you go out camping for example near Mt Hood in the summer at night you'll get some. Diesel trucks vs rainbow flags - are you referring to the general political landscape? If so, it's pretty balanced here. More blue in the city and more red in the outer cities of the county.
