That's the home builders acknowledging with their actions that the houses they're building are out of reach for most people, which one would hope would motivate them to focus on being more affordable, but no - this is what they do instead. I grew up in the 80s and 90s home style communities love them! Even homes from the 70s. Dam HOA & CCR are party poopers lol. I rather just put my tiny home on a property way out in the sticks and drive to town. Born and raised in Washington, Renton WA 1971 to 1989. Most of that time was in Vancouver and Ridgefield WA. Left in NOV 1989 and have not come back but only a couple times to visit, but have not been back since 2012. Now I live in the boonies in Southern Colorado just east of the San Juan and Wet Mountains. Love the view and the wilderness, wildlife, FREEDOM and the lack of population. I miss the green rain Forests of western WA. But not the politics nor the idea of being in an over-populated area.

Born and raised there. Washington state is gorgeous, it's my favorite state, but it's far too expensive now to live there comfortably so I moved away because of this issue. It's also become filled with a ton of egocentric and entitled peeps, albeit there's still a lot of incredibly kind people, there's too much of the "I'm better than you because of my car, house, money etc." Just sayin'.

The housing and income disparity issues are nationwide, unfortunately.

Home prices have been shooting up, which translates to increased property taxes. Have relatives there and this is their complaint. I would not want to be anywhere near Portland for obvious reasons.

If you want to know the truth you need to look deeper into where money is going, I know from experience dealing with School Districts, are they top heavy in Administration? do they spend millions on outside contractors? are they going to take the easy route and lay off support staff so classrooms will only get cleaned every few days, not enough office staff? If you want to get to the bottom on spending first look at the budget, Is the superintendent being paid fairly or is he making more than other like size Districts in Washington , Do you have charter schools which is taking away revenue or has the student population dropped, I'M subscribed because i might be moving up there but i will be retired and not looking for a job unless i want to work part time, But always learn and go thru the Districts budget first, you could be very suprised

It seems to me however that there are no Realtors out there that have the guts or experience to tackle updates on vacant Land in Clark County and building on it. Yes there are fewer buyers that want to do this but it’s still part of the market. Please consider this. Happy Holidays!

no offence but truly like statistically making roads smaller and rerouting traffic outside of cities is better for all people involved including people travailing in there vehicles. Vancouver is a big city but even then the cutting of roads can be better for it to as metro lines can take passengers across town in a far more fuel and space effective manor. i get your intention but there are a lot of upsides to cutting roads. i think we aren't at the point with our public transport to being fully cutting roads but i personally see the two changes at the moment to be actually far more helpful in the long run

WOW…just sayin’ ….how could you have possibly left out the pervasive homeless & drug addiction element in this town not to mention the serious CRIME problem that Vancouver has at this time??? Great video. I have concerns about the Clark County population increasing by 200,000. Traffic on I-5 and 205 will likely be unbearable with that level of increase.
