I have the theory that the Doctors abilities are related to super high speed thought and information processing. Going through multiple scenerios and choosimg an outcome. Which explains why sanity is a resource only he needs and why we can actually fail missions and replay endlessly without it actually killing the operators that go down.
Imagine having that ability and still unable to save your race. He must have been a broken man even before Babel, held together only by the Priestess. My head canon is that he was born with that great ability, and regarded as a holy man by his race, having a Priestess besides him (who prolly gave up her name to serve). But the doom of his race couldn't be prevented. Kal'tsit were probably the finest among the creations of Doctor's ancient race to combat the threat (like the Eldars/ Kroks/ etc. to The Old Ones in 40k). After the failed war, the creations devolved (or evolved, it depends) into the current races of Terra. The "Singer" form of Mephisto was arguably among the creations of Doctor's race, or the underlings of the ancient threat that doomed the Doctor's race, as Doctor seem to recognize the beast (as stated in the Archive)
My theory regarding Doc's Race is that he is a Phoenix, and that machine is what they use to be reborn after death. This unironically would explain the healing properties of his blood, why he can chug boiling water, and how he eluded death many times with us only knowing about the most recent death. His amnesia isn't permanent, Kal has mentioned that the moment he remembers she will kill us, so it's only a matter of time before we get the whole picture. I don't think Doc is human, however I do think he is part of those old Races like the Nian sister etc, and why they are even fond or partake in RI, even if Doc doesn't himself know why.
Hmm.. there’s an npc in the game who literally is a pheonix. Personally, I’d like to imagine he’s the same race as whisperain. Frail body, being able to rejuvenate after death, which I guess explains for the reason why he wears the coat. But, this doesn’t explain why the sarcophagus didn’t turn him into a jellyfish or why sanity/the fact he’s much more talkative than whisperain exist. So.. I like the video’s theory.
Oh kal is going to kill us if we remembered eh? i laugh at that thought. We'll probaly end up killing her first becuz the dockutah never trusted kal in the past. Didnt the smartest guy in terra have backup plan in case that happend?(yes we have plot armor)
I still consider the possibility that Dokutah could be a human but due to the nature of Terra itself "normal" human properties become abnormal and enhanced on Terra. It would also explain why he constantly wears his protective suit and rarely takes it off, because while some aspects of his biology changed, humans are fundamentally not able to adapt to Terra fully, hence him having to wear the suit while exposed to the outside world.
My theory that dokutah is an artificial and advanced human but the creators that was making him weren't able to modify his life span hence why they use the sarcophagus and they were prob made to reduce the loss of soldiers in some war (sanity system and also explains why his race/not really is nowhere to be seen due to some extreme war or sorts) so his original form is the same thing, he cannot revert to his original state(primal) cause he is made artificially (might also explain why warfarin isnt allowed to extract our blood),and he was prob made to be a commander/strategist due to his blood's healing properties and abilities (this is also prob the same for priestess) Also please dont mind my crap english
There's also other characters that are long-lived. We just saw the High Priest, who seems to have a similar lifeline as Kal'tsit. I don't really get the AUS-Aegir-Abyssal-Seaborne story going on, but some of them are apparently immortal as well.
I also hope we get Vigilo soon. My impression of PRTS was that scene happened before Kal'tsit. As in, the Doctor has been in the sarcophagus numerous times. The story dialogue seemed to suggest that scene was a separate incident from when Kal'tsit put Doctor in there. But maybe that was just my interpretation of it.
My theory for a newcomer to Arknights and not having all the pieces may invalidate my idea. I feel as if the doctor was a normal human, but due to the advanced nature of his people them having a deep understanding of biology would make sense as seen with the coffin in chapter 0 also how his body is very abnormal with his blood seemingly having healing abilities and his high resistance to heat. So I would like to think that the doctor is ancient like Kaltsit but is always meant to be a tacication at heart. I'm gonna use Lostbelt 3 from FGO as an example, the doctor is only awaken whenever someone or something needs his tactics and that would be the core of his person, how he achieves the goal will be different.
Somewhat having the same thoughts here. I personally think the doctor is a human like us just genetically modified so that they aren’t “pure” human like the Spartans from halo or space marine from warhammer40k
Actually, I think Priestess wasn't actually from the Rhodes Island of today. I forget which event, but Theresa actually pulled the name Rhodes Island from PRTS' older files, so that image could be from a long time ago.
@@wyveriusblackfire3834 I think Saria was just commenting how Doc's strategies can appear simple yet somehow effective. Maybe it's a remnant from old Doc's way of just haphazardly throwing the lives of operators at problems.

probably Amiya might have the genetic makeup of that humanoid girl which make them look a bit similar, could explain why she can be healed by doktah's blood.

The past is the past, the present is now, the future will happen in the future, so doctors in the past, present and future are different, everything can change at any time. And because the doctor's memory loss causes significant changes in a small amount of time, if his memory recovers of course he will change too, but with his experience during memory loss, His experience on Rhodes Island together will he remain who he was in the past or change it depends on who determines it, experience can change a person's character, Even though it's short, happiness is a special memory compared to other memories, so even though it's short, it can change something.
Personal theory, Doctor might be doppelganger. This could explain why the bloke has no gender as the race would be able to shapeshift. Their blood could be unique due to being genetically versatile to the point of really healing anybody, and could also be the reason why the Doctor is the only individual that can use the Sarcophagus without any brutal side effects because shapeshifters could just turn back. Their title: Evil Spirit of Babel, can loosely link to traditions and stories which refer doppelgangers as as spiritually evil twins that bring misfortune.
