there's a big difference between the super snake and the demon. Both are fantastic cars but the difference is that the SRT group re-engineered the challenger from the ground up. They shifted A LOT of weight to the back, added a trans brake, messed with gearing, suspension, added street legal radials to it, and much more in the designing of the demon. This resulted in the 0-60 and 1/4 mile times it has.
The super snake is a mustang with 850 hp. Yes its got better parts on it we all know, but its not a re-engineered car. It's a heavily beefed up car with a lot of power. I'm not hating on the car when I say that. That's just what it is. It's a glorified normal mustang with 850HP.
That's the key difference. And that difference matters if you're talking about 1/4 mile times. The Demon is an 840HP glorified Challenger yes...but...it's actually been engineered specifically for the purpose of the 1/4 mile which makes it's times faster than a super snake and faster than the glorified Camaro exorcist Hennessey spat out a few months ago.
Will the demon beat a Super Snake or Exorcist from a 40 roll? Probably not. A roll isn't where the Demon's strengths are. But that launch engineering is what separates it from its competitors and is why its untouched.
You guys need to understand that when you all are arguing about which car is faster. It's situational. If its at the strip side by side, the demon will win every time, if its a roll on the highway, the super snake will probably win.
I just hate to see all these arguments with no facts or reasoning behind them. They're biased and aggressive for no reason. Here's the reasoning and here's the facts. If you are a Ford fanboy like me, and a car guy all around, maybe next year is our year guys. But we cant sit here and deny the inevitable facts. The demon is by far the fastest drag car out of all the american makes. SRT was let off the leash with this car. Dodge finally said "fuck it" and said "do whatever you want", and this is what they did.
Now i know I've upset all of my mustang guys out there like myself but i'm not done yet. The 428 engine is being brought back by Ford. It's been rumored to be in the upcoming Raptor but there's a chance that Ford as well, says "fuck it", and sticks it in the new GT500 and slaps a good old blower on it. So we might see some ridiculous new products come from ford here in the next couple years.
Having said that, Dodge also patented the word "angel" so I'm assuming this will result in a Challenger Demon and Charger Angel? Or possibly a sports car? Barracuda return? Who knows. But the world of performance cars is going to get even better going into the 2020's.

Sadly the full comparison cant be done on 1/2 or 1 mile bc of 168 gov. That's because of the soft tires its using, it can't stand the centrifugle force which is a lot But if it had normal tires u reduce the 0-60 so u have a choice of either 0-60 time vs Top Speed Time

the dodge demon is advertised at doing 0-60 in 2.3 but it has ran it in 2.1 seconds before making it almost 1 second faster than your car. don't get me wrong Shelbys are very nice especially yours but when you see the demon pull a wheelie, you contemplate your purchase. also your car wouldn't hook up, I know it was an unprepared surface but I've driven a dodge demon on the street with it hooking up. maybe ford needs to relook what gearing they put in a 1000hp car?

The stock 2013 GT500 beat charger hellcats while it was rolling on skinny 265 rear tires. A nice set of tires had it beating the challenger hellcat. Funny thing is that Chrysler (dodge) has the 3 fastest muscle cars in the world and one of them is a suv! The dodge demon is a production car and the super snake is not the demons is the fastest v8 production car in the world with a 2.1 0-60 and running a 9.65 1/4 mile while the super snake runs only an average 3.5 0-60 and a 11.5 1/4 mile. So until I see it this is not a demon killer

Blacklist Motorsports why can’t the general public buy this? This is not an invite only car. You could argue it is a built to order car, but many people order their high performance cars from the factory. The issue, IMO is that many people can bolt on the parts themselves, and skip Shelby’s surcharge. Not that they can’t buy it, They just don’t.

Well the trans brake will prove to still be an issue with matching the Demon in a 1/4th mile. This Super Snake with a trans brake? No car could match it in quarter short of a Alpha 12. Hennessey even admitted his 1000HP Challenger probably couldn't beat a stock Demon consistently due to its launch advantage

still would not be a true comparison. He would need a full conversion to automatic with an entire, suspension re-adjustment, strip the interior and have a 6 gallon fuel tank.

Yes the Demon might win in the 1/4 but right after that the Supersnake would blow by it. The reason is the Demon is geared for low end acceleration and only has a top speed of 168 mph.

On this video it wasn’t pushed to it’s limit. I saw a roll race of a 800hp ctsv and a super snake. The super snake walked it with no problem. The challenger demon Will get walked as well, simply because it’s 200hp less.

Oswaldo Castillo, I was thinking the same thing. But I checked that the mustang supersnake comes with 850hp. But only transmits 756 hp to the wheels. Which means this is not factory stock. So this guy has obviously done his supersnake up.

Most cars have a roll out time calculated in their 0-60. With roll out it’s 2.1 seconds.

Doesnt count. The real 0-60 is gonna be on the street, and itll be no where near the 2.3 they said cause that was drag strip time. ANY CAR thats rear wheel drive able to get around a 3 second 0-60 on the street is damn impressive, and almost at the limit of whats capable with mechanical grip with a rwd car. I have been a MOPAR Man since I was a kid.(in the 70's) I am so excited about the New HORSEPOWER WARS! Trust me I love to see that Challenger mopping the floor with the FORD and CHEVY(s) WORTHY OPPONENTS make battles exciting. I'm happy to see FORD is on the field. I like to see even CHEVROLET throwing down. Chrysler needs to come up with another RETRO BODY-STYLE. The Challenger is BAD-ASS for sure, but that's all they really have. That STATION WAGON they laughingly call the Charger is too BIG and LONG. I hope the guys at Chrysler bring back the GTX and leave it a 2-door. It would be nice to have another 2-Door vehicle that can do battle with Camaro and Mustang.

J S No doubt Chrysler products have a questionable reliability record. That doesn't take away from the fact that the HELLCAT Challenger is a high level BAD-ASS car. That being said, the HELLCAT is the ONLY NEW Chrysler(car) product I would consider purchasing. I would definitely step up to a Jeep or Pick-up.

TheGogetassj this came out in 2013 so if anything the demon is copying the supersnake...when he ordered this car there's an option for a Shelby widebody, I'm saying he should've got that so he can get wider tires and put on drag slicks...and btw you actually can put race fuel in this car because with the supersnake it has a much better fuel system/injectors in case people wanted to put race fuel in it...sooo

Ray Rocco if you don't mind type in Cobra Jet it is 80% Mustang GT 5.0 platform and they've done basically what the demon has done it's considered a production vehicle but without a VIN but supposedly you can get that registered and get it in and does 7.8 second quarter mile

That’s about all demons are designed to do, they suck at handling. This is why I’d take a Mustang or camaro over a demon, dodge sucks at the handling aspect, plus they fall apart.

Uhhh C6 ZO6 does 0-60 in 3.7ish....with only 505hp 470 torque.....sorry ford....with 1,000 HP I'm not impressed

I know right, and the Ford Gt beats the C6 corvette.
GTR does 2.8ish with 500ish Hp.
