This show was organized by The Rolling Stones as a benefit concert for Toronto's tourism industry that had been decimated after the first SARS outbreak. When Rolling Stones drummer Charlie Watts approached Neil as he was mentally preparing to go on stage, he initially didn't recognize him, but Geddy did and gestured to Neil, who broke out into a huge grin, took out his in-ear monitor, and spent some time talking to him; even when Charlie said "I'm going to watch you," Neil was relatively unfazed. For three more amazing performances, I'd like to add my votes for YYZ Live In Rio, Xanadu from Exit Stage Left, and Working Man Live In Cleveland. Cheers from Toronto!

This genre of music is RUSH, then there is everybody else.
Great review! I am SO pleased to see one of our youth gets it.

Rush is one of the best bands to come out of Canada! All 3 of them are amazing musicians.

Because the guitar player kept his amplifiers and the bass player was going through the sound board, they added washing machine to balance the stage. He also had chickens cooking. They are playing the Rolling Stones "Paint It Black" at the beginning.

You have to watch working man by Rush live in Cleveland. Also YYZ live in Rio and Neil Peart drum solo live in Frankfurt

You would really love the Rush song "Xanadu" performed live in Montreal Canada in 1981 on the Rush Exit Stage Left tour

On the left side of the stage Alex has a massive stack of amps, Geddy on the right used to have his own stack of amps but soon preferred to just plug into the arenas sound system and he didn't need them anymore, but it left a big empty space that looked unbalanced to the band so they compensated by filling the space with things like dryers, popcorn machines and chicken rotisseries. 😊

Live versions of studio recordings often have different twists and insert intro’s. The opening of this live recording included Rush’s take on the classic “Paint it Black” by The Rolling Stones. Great live version… but, honestly, Rush always sounded great in concert. Really enjoy your reviews, Island Girl (as well as the cool headphones)! Check out “Limelight” by Rush when you get a chance.

Rush are great live. All three bring the goods.
However, it's hard to beat the studio version of this particular song.

There’s a whole inside joke side to RUSH. It takes a little while to figure it all out. They are hilarious, also very famous for their silliness and sense of humor. That’s why the laundry, I’ll let you naturally discover why. 😉👍

I don't understand why, but here they have washing machines, in another video, they have dolls & in another video, they have rotissere chicken😂

Yes, the reason why you recognize the song at the beginning is because you reacted to it a month ago. Rush was covering The Rolling Stones Paint It, Black

😂 You are soooooo ready for 🥁 'Neil Peart Drum Solo Live in Franfurt'. 🤩 Rush played 3hr sets (no opening band) so we always got a Neil Drum solo while they showed Alex & Geddy off to the side 🤣 sipping Tea, or just being silly. 😍 Also why Neil is EVERY Drummers "favorite drummer"!
🤔 Rush definitely kept their fans entertained for 4 decades. We loved every Tour sitting in nosebleed section of Madison Square Garden. 🤯 However the 1st time I saw them, they opened for KISS! I left a Geddy Lee fan. 🤦🏿‍♀️ I feel incredibly old now that KISS has entered the conversation.... 😂🥰🐰
