- This Blair Atholl walk starting from Loch Moraig takes in two of the three Munros of Beinn a' Ghlo. Can Liath and Braigh Coire Chruinn-bhalgain give an excellent walk in breezy conditions.
great to see you both out, thank you so much for continuing to post brilliant films of your mountain days.
Hi majornova, Many thanks for your continued viewing as it's very much appreciated. Cheers
Great to see you both up on those hills x It's very relaxing for us. Lovely x
Hi Patrica, Glad you enjoyed our Munro outing which was terrific and took us away from our local hills for a change. Cheers
One of my top days out. The view along the ridge from Carn Liath to Braigh Coire Cruinn Bhalgain is stunning. Great video as always and a real tonic! Thanks for sharing. All the best Murdo
Hi Murdo, I agree, Beinn a' Ghlo has some terrific walking throughout the seasons and its quite close to home 👍 Cheers
I remember these as being the foggiest ride in on my motorbike to the start , cleared later in the morning for a great walk and bagged the 3 , cheers
Hi 45ltr, Beinn a' Ghlo is a super area and gives quite a bit of fun throughout the seasons. Cheers
Hi Charlie & Mike, good to see you out again, weather lately has been abyssmal. Great day for it yesterday and those conditions looked ideal altho it sounded a tad nippy on the tops. Lovely edit as always Charlie.👍

Frank
Hi Frank, It was great getting ahead of today's storm for a slightly bigger walk than normal. A bit surprised at the lack of snow but that windchill would cut you in half. The short travel time is always a joy at this time of year but if this lack of snow keeps up we'll be heading further north earlier than expected. Cheers
Cracking day lads you couple of hillwalking machines. 😎👌
Hi Kev, It was a cracker, bloody freezing but great to be out. Cheers
The second is said to be the longest name of any Munro but I haven't counted letters! Anyway, it's a mouthful. Don't blame you not naming it.
As usual, a great reminder of a great day. Thanks.
Hi Geoffrey, Its certainly a mouthful and a lot easier to stick with Munro No.2 🤣 Cheers
Nice to see you both out there again 👍
Hi Darren, It was good getting away from our local hills onto the higher tops. Fingers crossed we get more settled days and step up the early season Munros. Cheers
Yeah, I've only beening doing local walls as well, but I'm still getting out there Charlie 👍
HI Charlie, Hi Mike, what a stunning day you had for it. A proper winters day, clear, cold and crisp. Thank you for taking us along. All the best, Dave.
Hi Dave, We had hoped for a wee bit more snow but no complaints as it was a cracker. Cheers
Nice to see you back out there and what a cracking day you had. Fantastic views. I like that area. Obviously been a big thaw on, as I thought you would have encountered more snow. Clearly very cold, but wow, a stunning day. Thank you for sharing.
Hi Jonathan, Yes, we had also expected more snow at this time of year. That could obviously change quite quickly but it looks as if the mild spell is to continue. Cheers
Hi, Charlie my walk of doom, Starting from Blair Atholl camp site, I stupidly wore new socks the compression type then wool socks on top, they rubbed and rubbed and by the time I reached that hut I was in agony, it was also a very hot day, I removed inner socks and climbed Carn Liath then descended to the coll, I climbed half way up but due to extreme foot pain and not much fluid left I had to bail with a 3 HR walk back to campsite, After passing the car park a kind Scot give me a lift back to Atholl, so huge thanks to him! I will be back to finish the adventure with maybe a bivi involved, I wish you and Mike plenty happy walks in 2024. Kind regards Mark Shaw.
Hi Mark, Sounds as if you had an epic adventure. Hopefully, your return will be a lot less dramatic. Cheers
Another great video Charlie. Looking forward to lots more in 2024 👍
Hi glenblaven, Really glad you enjoyed yesterdays outing and we're also looking forward to a busy 2024 for walking. Cheers
Great stuff, as always.
Hi Annie, Many thanks, glad you enjoyed the trip. Bloody cold on the tops but great to be out. Cheers
Ah you bring a little bit of joy to the day …cheers boys .
Hi Neil, Many thanks, glad you enjoyed a wee escape to the hills. Cheers
Very brave you to bag those Munros in the winter season excellent and thank you for sharing your experience with us 🙏🙏
Hi Mohammad, It was certainly pretty cold on the tops with the strong wind bring down the temperatures but the lack of snow made things straightforward. Cheers
@@charliemccartney7055 yes you were lucky not to deal with snow on the ridges and over the scramble. Excellent and very active of you sir👏👏
Fantastic views cracking munro’s cheers
Hi Andrew, Yes, we just managed to sneak the views before it started closing in. Great day.... Cheers
another great video, I am amazed at the "foot" tracks on the hills nowadays or is it just me. many thanks for sharing ATB
Hi John, They have improved a lot of the paths around the Cairngorms National Park and it makes a major difference on tops like Carn Laith where the main route gets battered. The numbers going to the hills over the years has steadily increased which is no bad thing but some areas do need to react to that. Cheers
Assuming you recorded this within the past couple of weeks or so ? its astonishing who little snow there is for the time of year 😮
Nice bright winter day with great views 😎
Good luck 🍀
Hi Craig, This was recorded yesterday and we were also surprised at just how little snow is about. That could change but for the moment it's looking like a poor snow winter. Cheers
Thanks for for confirming Charlie 👍🏻
Quick questions, Charlie, if I may: What is the holster-like object on the sternum strap of your rucksack for and where did you get it? Also, watching another of your videos on walking into Fisherfield I noticed Mike was carrying a small hydration pack at times and a full rucksac at others. Are these separate or part of an integrated pack? Please let me know which make(s) this is? Thanks for uploading. ATB. 🏴🏔👍
Hi Nick, Its simply a leather tool holster, normally for a hammer, that I've attached to my pack which holds my mini tripod and camera while walking. It just keeps the camera very accessible when out and about.
The small pack that Mike uses on specific days isn't a hydration pack but a separate pack which is simply taken on the day inside his large bag. It's a micro pack like ones used by runners that's large enough to hold a few things. Hope this helps. Cheers
