- This walk in the Cairngorms from the Linn of Dee car park completes the tops to the west of the Lairig Ghru. The Devil's Point, Cairn Toul, Sgor an Lochain Uaine, Braeriach with the addition of Carn a' Mhaim on the route back to the bikes.
A mixed weather day with the bright spell arriving late in the afternoon.
The view from carn a m'haim towards devils point are something else, magic. Great video!

Great stuff once more Charlie.I like your typically understated style.You show really well that nothing is too difficult if you are prepared & have a degree of confidence.Abviously your bags of experience shines through & gives people(including me) confidence to push outside their comfort zone.I agree with some of the other posts.The Cairngorms is quite different from anyway else in Scotland.I Sometimes I fancy Skye,Glencoe or Torridon & at other times a long day on the plateux.Thats what makes Scotland so special.The variety & various different levels of difficulty.And that's coming from an Englishman albeit with a Scottish Father.I get up as often as I can,to walk of course.Well done Chaps,keep em coming.Jamie👍
Hi Jamie, I agree with regards to the variety of regions around Scotland. Terrific contrast of landscape and that's before you add the variations of the seasons. The Cairngorms are unique and present different challenges to get across all the tops.

I remember thinking that maybe I wouldn't like the Cairngorms after visiting places like Torridon. I changed my mind when I went to the Cairngorms and loved the giant hills, mountains and forests.
It does have a look of it's own and that is the good thing about Scottish scenery, it is very varied and each area looks different to the next
I love those days when the rain and clag blow through to leave the most remarkable clear air in their wake.
That's a brilliant route, but no matter how often you walk up there, the distances still remain surprisingly deceptive. Part of the reason I love the Cairngorms so much. The sheer scale of the place never ceases to impress. Nice one 👍

Another great video gents. Some of your commentary and what you were wearing, alluded to that is wasn’t warm for the first half of your walk. I find the Cairngorms have an appeal all of their own, quite different to the jagged peaks of the Western Highlands. The views you captured were stunning, quite beautiful. I have looked at doing most of your route myself, but didn’t factor in Carn a’ Mhaim. A big day, both with ascent and mileage and remaining consistently high for a lot of it. Really enjoyed the video, thank you.
Hi Jonathan, The Cairngorms is quite special and its height and vastness has a lot of appeal. Carn a' Mhaim isn't normally included but that's just the Munro bagging coming out in us as it was a single we needed to repeat. Many thanks for watching. Cheers, Charlie.

Great video in a very special place. My first Scottish Hills experience in the bothy in Aug 1978. Compleated on Carn a' Mhaim Aug 2019. You boys certainly like big routes, many thanks for sharing.

Hi John, We have always kept a reasonable pace through the years but things are starting to slow as the years roll on. Walking as much as possible helps keep the legs in some sort of condition for the bigger days but it doesn't get any easier 😂Cheers, Charlie.

Great vid, sometimes its nice to have a day with dark clouds and cold, makes it more atmospheric and keeps the bugs away
Hi Matthew, I prefer broken skies to the clear blue as it certainly gives more contracts to the landscape. The cooler weather is well on its way now as the day started in single figure temperatures... what happened to the summer 😂Cheers, Charlie.

@@PAADVENTURES1 will certainly do no harm to get more tops under your belt. I would also suggest a Skye guide is worth consideration to hit the Munros in a week. Its a great experience without the hassle of all things safety.

Did the Braeriach traverse a few months ago. Coming through the Lairig Ghru and Chalamain gap was some day . Definitely glad I ticked them off

Hi charlie & Mike, fantastic hike there👏👏 I was over the other side of the cairngorms yesterday at Ben Avon & Beinn a Bhuid, had similar weather Charlie, clear then a few rain showers moving thru, very windy up on the plateaus. It’s always a long day in the gorms and you captured your hike beautifully.
After watching your vid I’m not too sure which way to approach my last 4 in the gorms which are the first 4 you did. Whether to come in from the sugar bowl or linn of Dee. Any helpful hints Charlie.?
Hi Frank, I've completed these four from both the north and south. My preference is from the south but its 50/50. I find the choice of clockwise or anticlockwise depending upon what the wind doing is an easier decision when in at the bothy. Cheers, Charlie
Great vlog Charlie. I’m coming up in a couple of weeks to do your first 3 Munro’s on this outing. Do you know if there is a bike hire shop in Braemar. I think the cycle in will cut time and miles. Staying in Braemar and doing the Lochnagar circuit the same week.

where did you put the bikes
Hello, We left the bikes just before the river crossing about 2km passed Derry Lodge. The path starts gaining height just after this and there's a small crop of trees for locking the bikes. Cheers
