- Its a pretty simple task. But one that need to be done fairly regular. Follow along as I show you how to change the Splinter guard on my Makita Tracksaw. The same basic principles apply for most prolevel tracksaws (Bosch/Mafell, Dewalt, Festool)

I'd recommend brake cleaner or acetone to clean up the glue.
Mineral spirits leave an oily residue which is not great for sticking to. Consider using and alcohol or acetone based solvent to clean up.
I saw you have some scratches on your guide? I have them on my guide rail from kick back. Was wondering if the tracks are still usable.
One hundred percent still usable as long as the knick isn't affecting the smoothness of the gliding motion along the track.
Consider on using Goof Off Adhesive Gunk Remove and letting it sit overnight or using heat gun will save massive time with the understanding of your concept on getting rid of the old adhesive from the Anti-Splinter Strip for the track saw.
Bosch/Mafell actually work differently, with no adhesive. They slide into place.
Why the hell aren't you using acetone, which dissolves adhesive and doesn't scratch up your track
that's a pretty rough job, mate
put it on a table or plywood and cut the whole rubber not just the center
heat gun
Bosch and Mafell do this way better. It is friction fit not adhesive
For me I prefer that system as well the benefit to this system is you can reuse the splitter guard by just moving it over and double sided tape. I’ve done it and don’t care for it but having another option is a definitely a benefit.
Can't with you attaboy. Rough as a badgers arse as we say here.
