Etoile is a scion class introduced in Episode 6 of PSO2! We'll be looking at Etoile's skills, weapons, and core mechanics.

I've been waiting for a class like this. I may not be a parry god, but when I do a parry correctly, it feels really good.
Beginner: Don't die
Intermediate: Don't take damage
Expert: Beat Phaleg without taking damage
Grandmaster Golden Sparkles: You were never hit even before unlocking Etoile

Dash+attack with Wand shoots a magic missile. With Double Saber equipped, if you double tap Dash while in air you start gliding. Nice for travelling.

Honestly, when I first saw that Phantom and Etoile came to global, I hopped on the Phantom bandwagon. However, as I've always felt so clunky using techs, I struggled to play Phantom effectively (katana Phantom didn't click with me either).
So I picked up Etoile as a subclass first. And now all I do is Deflect counter as a Double Saber Etoile
That sounds an awful lot like I was. Oddly enough, phantom was the first class I got to max level on JP when I came back to the game last year, but ended up enjoying etoile way more. But since luster came out on JP, I've found myself playing that way more in the past few weeks.

The wand is a lavis cannon.
The soaring blades are a lambda Excalibur weapon camo.
The double saber is a double cannon.

Would Lavis be a decent placeholder wand or best use that Atlas they gave us?
All etoile wand attacks scale with melee power, right?
The Atlas weapon if you affixed with lifesteal, If I'm not mistaken it heals you 30 HP per hit as it doesn't has the healing reduction, so it's one of the best ways to keep alive as an etoile.

I would use an offense oriented s4 tbh. Life steal is pointless if you have maxed damage bouncer (no reason not to).
@@rex_melynas lifesteal doesn't work, it's 1 hp heals bruh. Best way to stay alive as etoile is parry everything and don't get hit essentially. Which isn't difficult honestly. Most of the time at least.
at any rate that damage reduction is way better than lifesteal. Etoile has that regen as well, though it's sorta slow.
Wand will use the higher attack. You can go with either
i started leveling etoile to use as a sub for hunter, now i turned into a full blown soaring blades etoile main
Seems to happen with a lot of folks. They level these things as subs for other classes but end up absolutely falling in love. All four scions/successors are just so well made and an absolute blast to play!
haha, i went from hero main to soaring etoile main as well. Gotta love those parries and excalibur damage numbers.

I really want to use soaring blade badly with Etoile but i wanna focus on soaring blades before i put points into the soring blade part of the tree. Also i found soaring blades the coolest of them all lol

I like how all the scion class weapons behaved differently from their normal counterparts.

I used to play gunner, so although the animations are completely different, the Soaring Blades (SB) mechanics feel a lot like Twin Machine Guns (TMG) version 2.
* For both TMG and SB, PA spam on its own is mediocre damage and needs assistance (Chain Trigger on TMG, and Connect on SB). However, Connect is more reliable since it's so easy to completely miss a Chain Trigger by normal attacking the wrong mob or part.
* Its vertical height control PA is more forgiving than the Gunner's kick PA
* Most of the Soaring Blades PAs hit at the same distance as Satellite Aim
* Both allow you to be protected while attacking (SB with the any time weapon action, TMG with I or guard frames built in to many PAs)
The whole chain trigger thing kinda turned me off from gunner.

It does, just a smaller impact.

Wouldn't hurt.
Yeah, while Hero is the only class that really tries to get you to use all weapons, Etoile is still good to use one, two, or all three. Especially if you focus each one toward specific encounters
Well, they put the description for recast save on over drive for us. I've been confused as to why I was healing my party and restoring their pp when I used it. Now I know that they probably rushed on the classes, probably will get it fixed next week or something.

@@flameninja_ when I recorded this I didn't know the changed names. Thankfully they left the PA names alone across the board.
@@Zeomantic Yea, in the global version they change so many little things either from mistranslation or just because it sounds "Better" to them. I think it's overall fine but I was pretty mad when I thought they messed up the skill trees xD Thank you for the video btw, even though I knew how to mostly play Etoile I learned about how one of the wand pa's can move you forward and home and it made me want to play with Double Sabers and Soaring blades more while leveling.

Etoile is fun, using it as a sub for hunter tho is pretty fucking ridiculous, makes you an immortal freak of nature with 90% damage mitigation.
It's closer to 77.5% damage reduction due to its multiplictive nature, but the sentiment remains. Or 83%ish if Etoile boost maxes out.

Maybe they'll add it as a weapon camo or something on global. On JP, it's an old-type weapon that dropped off Elder and Luther, as well as PD.
I seen players just float with the double saber instead of running. Does anyone know how to set that up. I done it by accident last night 😂
The step slide you activate by hitting the step button twice, assuming you put a point into the skill.

Level two or more of the base classes to 75 and you'll get a title. Then talk to Kofy and she'll have the client order to unlock etoile plus the other scion classes.
what movement skill is best?
Could use the 1st part of absolute quasar or radiant sting and cancel out of the last part with a step. Some people also carry a gunblade and do kickdance dash.

tried this class for fun and woahhh!
probably the most noob friendly class, Dual Sword on demand parry literally make you unkillable even if you just spamming same attack over and over again while parrying.
the passive healing on 50% hp will let you to self sustain without needing to heal on most of content
Yeah it's a great subclass, plus I feel it's better for folks who might not be into the high speed play style of some of the other classes.
Does dexterity count as an offensive mag lvl

Use phantom for DEX mag.
Use phantom as subclass for best DEX mag effect.
how do u "dump ur meter"?
Depends on the weapon. Like for wand, you would hold the weapon action down to charge protect release, then let go when the bar is empty.

What's the best weapon for a complete moron at dodging? I need to find a way to be tanky since I suck at dodging.
Probably wand. It isn't nearly as dependent on counter-attacks as the other two. I'm not the most artful dodger myself either.

Far as I'm concerned Etoile is just garbage. Only class that can't cast resta, shifta, and deband of the 3 but it has the nerve to call itself a support class. And not only can you not use resta, no one else can even use it on you without giving you only 1 heal. Fucking lol. Went back to hero fuck this garbage class so not a huge loss but i'm just pissed I wasted some EXP +1mil to get it to 50 only to see that I cant even use arts.
