- I’m not quite sure how many vlogs it will take to share my experiences and memories of the UK tour with Beth Nielsen Chapman. There were so many discoveries just from traveling in a foreign country plus a packed performance schedule... the days are best described as FULL. Touring is a total blast and a lot of work. There are miles to travel, gear to move, meals to fit in, learning to live with strangers, and of course wonderful moments of making music.
This vlog covers some of the first days, rehearsals and early performances along with some time I got for a little sight seeing. At the beginning of the trip I got to run around London some while my folks were still around and take in some of that incredible city. There is so much to see and love there but getting up to North West London and spending time around Abbey Road was definitely profound. Even the simple things like learning how to navigate the tube, bus and trains, the languages and accents, the fact that cars might be coming from any direction all added to what can only be described as a magical and life-shaping experience.
I’m 18 years old and I’m a professional musician, songwriter & artist based out of Nashville. I play lots of instruments but the ones that I’m hired to play most often are drums, cajon and bass. I’ve been posting music related videos on UA-cam since I was 9 years old and began playing professionally at 14. I’ve always loved music and I’m grateful that it’s also become how I now make a living. This channel started as a combination of my fascination with drums and UA-camrs and it’s now turned into a much larger music and music business diary. My goals haven’t changed all that much over the years and stay pretty simple. I’d love to keep making music and hope to keep getting better at it.

I first went to Europe and the UK from Boston, when I was nearly 40 years old. It was also the first time I had ever flown on a plane - all made possible by my career choice. I still remember being amazed at the same things that amazed you. Your vlog brought back some of those memories, and made me smile. I'm fairly certain that more eye openers await you in time.
I have two travel tips for you, for avoiding jet-lag, one of which you learned on this trip. First, whether flying East or West, set your clock for the destination time, and get your head around that ASAP. When you reach your destination, if you find yourself wanting to sleep when locals are starting their day, stay awake until their night-time, and wake up with them the next day. If you find yourself wanting to stay awake when it's time to sleep (especially on the plane), then close your eyes and at least try to power-nap. Second, if you have a choice, it's easier to fly West than East. You don't lose time flying West, you extend time. It's like you're trying to out-race sunset. Flying North or South keeps you in the same time zone, so there's no jet lag, other than engine noise ringing in your ears. Some good noise-cancelling headphones on the plane can do wonders to prevent that. A good sleep mask, and air cushions for your seat, lumbar and neck, also negate the effects of international air travel.
Have a safe trip back to Nashville.

Mia your the Best, When I was in the Navy I spent a week there. I learned what "Tea Time" was. Funny they drink warm beer. I went to a Pub and the bartender said OH your an American bloke? I said yes, he said I'll go in back and find you a cold beer. I really liked being there.

we played that because Beth, (the artist I'm touring for) was one of the writers of the song. Faith recorded it and had a big hit with it tho, you are correct :) One could say that Faith played Beth...
PS ....Mia ... fascinated by the pendants you wear through the video ...No I'm not a pendant fetishist! 😉 ... just a part time jeweller and I hand make a lot of mineral and gemstone jewellery. One of them looks like Amethyst crystal? What was that one at 5:09? They look really nicely made.
