Every spring, I pick a little grass daisy and give it to my hubby. I've been literally doing this for 3 decades now. I'm going to save this tutorial and as soon as I have the yarn or thread, I'm gonna make him one. Thank you for the tutorial ❤
Hi Robyn how are you hope you're ok and l love your new daisy square tutorial its beautiful l love your designs. I'm going to make a cardigan.from Bernadette from Hertfordshire
That's adorable 🥰 I was thinking it makes great gifts to give to someone. Making one for my daughter for her room. It's cute but very time consuming I can't imagine the time it takes to do a blanket with all of it
I definitely need this in a rose... I want to make another afghan for the CFF and use roses this time around. I just need it to be simple enough because I'll need to make 65 of them (the nickname is literally 65 Roses)
I absolutely love this daisy square. I have a wedding in two months (my neice). So, Auntie Dafty is going to make her a daisy blanket. To stop my granny square edges looking like a dogs hind leg I added a round of single crochet. The jury is still out on this one. The colours for my neices blanket-sage green, white, cream and yellow. I'm going to alternate the daisies with a cream square ( sounds like a summer pastry from a well-known bakery chain that may or may not begin with the letter G ) and join it all together with white. Maybe.
@HookedbyRobin Aunty Dafty ended making the wedding gift, a rainbow striped daisy blanket, and a double bed sized daisy blanket. Plus a daisy bag (made of daisy squares and solid grannys) as a carrier for a goldie dog I made for an Australian streamer friend, the dogs name is daisy... so Daisy the dog has a daisy bag ..... I made a lot of daisy squares (minus the extra round of single crochet border)
You are an excellent teacher! Your explanations are meticulous. Truly an instructor after my own heart. And I’ve been crocheting and knitting 60+ years.
I AM IN LOVE!!!ANOTHER FASCINATING GRANNY SQUARE CREATION!! Just absolutely stunning and quite honest I have never seen this type of flower done in this capacity!! So cool thank you so much for share ur knowledge and love of the craft with us have made several of ur patterns! And many many more to try out, as I’m getting my yarn out now to try this beautiful flower keep up the amazing work and thank you again for all ur hard work teaching us mire peasants❤ Christina Pittsburgh
Such a fabulous flower square!!! Love your tutorials, now I have more squares to make!!! Thanks so much. I think I must make your CAL, reminds me of the 70`s :o)
Yay!!! I’m excited to gather the yarn for this project. ❤❤ I’m an 80’s baby so this reminds me of my childhood in the 80’s/90’s and I love it so much!!
When I first saw the flower, I thought it was a pillow, not a granny square. Now that I know it’s a granny square. I am planning on just making the flower making two of them putting them together stitching up the sides stuff it to make it a flower pillow, I hope you don’t mind
Initially I did yes! My first few versions of this square had the side petals attached on the hdc row but it stretched them out a bit oddly compared to the corners - you can absolutely tweak it to join all the petals on the hdc row if you wanted!
Sooo im new.... i made 15 double crochets into the magic ring but when i count the tops i only get 14? Am i doing something wrong ive counted like 10 times... is it possible to have 15 posts + our 2 chain and only have 14 tops? Do i just do another one and hope for the best 😅 i already restarted this one twice 🫠
I love your videos Robin! you are the best to follow along. I made the unicorn dreams blanket for my daughter and granddaughter and a rose blanket for my Mom. I've made other things as well thanks to you. All this crocheting started a few years ago and was so therapeutic for me through a rough couple of years. I need a blanket now for my grandson. Do you think you could ever do an animal theme blanket sometimes? Thanks for all the great videos!!
Is there anyway to do this as a solid granny square instead of the three dc cluster stitch? Would I just add a dc to the chain loop sc’s or would that make the count off?
I just dug out all my yarn to go threw scraps and find this, Trying to use all my yarn before getting more but I might just sneak a funky color one of these into a blanket or pillow cover so pretty
I bought yarn for this today! How many did you use in your blanket? Or, are the number of squares of each type in the CAL video? EDIT: Nevermind! I found all the details on the blog. Thanks for the fun!
You know... I wouldn't be mad if the design used a square that was smaller than the petals. It would give an overlap and make a bouquet feel. Thoughts?
Apologies for that! There was an issue in my spiral granny video - it had been corrupted on upload and cut off the last couple of minutes of footage - I'm currently fixing it and it'll be reuploaded shortly! 🫣
Made this one to learn a new pattern for granny square, got addicted to it, used spare yarns, decided to make a pouch for my headset and now I just realized that I don't have enough yarn to finish my project 😭😭😭
P.S my three girls are all have Flower 🌺, so I’m always a lil bit more drawn to flower patterns and I just know my girls are going to want a bag with this new patter ❤😂❤
Robin, can you do (someday) a blanket with squares that represents every month’s flower & the background of each square done in the colours that represent that months birthstone? AND/OR - a blanket that represents a design that represents that month (like a holiday blanket)? Thank you 😊 I learned to crochet from your videos and attempt (almost all your tutorial’s). 💙 ✨ Kes (from Nova Scotia)

Oh Robin, this has got to be my fav. of the CAL Pick 'n' Mix blocks so far. I've made so many daisies (sans background granny) If you could do a peace sign block, this would make a great 1970's inspired blanket. Either way, I'm nuts over this block. 🌼🌈🙂☮

Thats beautiful. Is it natural fibres? I would love to learn this and make a blanket. Can I use wool. I don't like acrylic yarn. Please advise.

This soooo cute. Did you consider joining the side petals to the hdc row? Seems like it would work.
Initially I did yes! My first few versions of this square had the side petals attached on the hdc row but it stretched them out a bit oddly compared to the corners - you can absolutely tweak it to join all the petals on the hdc row if you wanted!
I figured you did being how clever you are but my curious side had to inquire. Thank you 😊.

Great performance! If I want to widen the green area a bit, would I just add another row accordingly? Thanks again.
How big is this square in inches?
Using the chunky yarn, mine worked up to be roughly 6 and a half inches

Beautiful.

how would variegated yarn look for the petals? I was thinking of making some for my card club :D
Definitely give it a go!😃🌸
