This is so gorgeous and such an easy square. I’ve never done a granny square before but I did this one yaaaay 🎉🎉
Thank you so much you’re a legend!!
You’re welcome 😊
Thank you...i love this granny square...big hug from Indonesia ❤️
You are so welcome! I really hope you enjoy it. I have seen a blanket made with just these squares and it is lovely.
I really enjoyed this tutorial. I've been challenging myself lately, and I decided to try this square. It was fast paced, but that's what "pause" and "rewind" are for. I was familiar with all the terms and it really boosted my confidence when I finished the square and it looked the way it was supposed to! Thank you!
Glad it was helpful! Yes that is what pause is for!! There is also a way to slow down the play back speed but then the sound also gets slowed down as well.

Happy to help
Thank you so much for your clear explanation! Love the pattern sooo much❤️❤️
Ps. Yes i think this is not suitable for really beginner. But your tutorial is so clear. Thanks
I am very cautious using words like "beginner friendly". If you see me use those words then you know it is a super easy pattern.
ESTA SEÑORA CUANDO NACIÓ, YA EMPEZÓ A HACER CROCHET. MUY BONITO Y BIEN HECHO. NO SÉ INGLES PERO CON SOLO MIRAR SE SACA EL TRABAJO POR LA CALIDAD DEL VIDEO.
BUEN CANAL.
Thank you.
Lol I liked that magic ring trick.
Thanks. I do mine a little differently but it works for me.
Por dios que hermosura😍😍
Thanks
Alternative of first row with knot , without magic ring ?
Excellent work!
Thanks.
It’s beautiful! Thank you!
Glad you like it!
I really like this granny square! Going to make a blanket with it! Thank you for this video!
Wonderful!
Even though there were a few accidents where you said slip stitch instead of sc it was fine because you go at a nice pace that allows me to see what you did instead.
Sorry about that. I do get tongue tied sometimes. I try to watch the video to check for that before uploading but with little kids I can get distracted.
Thank you~ ^^
You're welcome 😊
I really love this patten, and my granny squares are coming out great. Just have a bit of a problem on the border round. After you do the corner you do 2 double crochet, one into to treble and one in the next space. Is that the same going around? Or do you do the opposite. So before the corner do you insert through the space and then into the treble?
There is 16 DC worked on each side. Not including the corner spaces, you have 1 into the Treble, 1 into the DC, 4 into the CH 4 space, 4 into the next CH 4 space, 1 into the DC and 1 into the Treble. (This equals 12 stitches the 4 missing stitches are into the corners).
Thank you! That really helps
I love this pattern, thanks so much!! Do you think you could give me the brand of hooks that you use? I was completely captivated by your hook the whole video!
It is a Furls Streamline Hook. I love the wood hooks but sense my dogs love them too I tend to buy the Furls Odyssey hooks now.
Thank you for a lovely pattern. I am not sure if anyone else has commented, however at 13:44 you have on the screen for Row 4 (DC, TR, CH2, DC, TR), when it should be (DC, TR, CH2, TR, DC).
Yes, thank you for sharing. A few others have shared as well. Sadly there is no way to fix the video without removing the video.
ESTA NOCHE ES DE SUERTE PQ SOLO VEO TRABAJOS DE CROCHET DE CALIDAD EN ABSOLUTAMENTE TODO. ES EN INGLÉS PERO SE VEN TAN BIEN QUE SE ENTIENDEN A LA PERFECCIÓN. NO OBSTANTE TE PONEN LAS VUELTAS Y TIPOS DE PUNTOS . SOLO CON MIRAR ES MÁS Q SUFICIENTE. Y GRACIAS POR CARECER DE MÚSICA Y PIR METERLE EL ZOOM A LAS IMAGENES. ÉSTO SÍ QUE SIGUE SIENDO CALIDAD !!
I am glad it helped. You can turn on closed captions and change the language there to hopefully help further.
I notice you are called Winding Road 😁 I am part of a group called “WindingRoad2”. We are a husband and wife team…we sing Christian gospel music and have been recording together for 12 years as WindingRoad2. I also love to crochet 🧶 and have been crocheting for approximately 4 years now, although I learn how to do a granny square when I was 19 but never went any further until 2017. I want to thank you for sharing. I look forward to making this one! Be Blessed! 😃
That is wonderful! We wanted to create a crochet blog with a road trip traveling them but the road trip part didn't ever get started. But I do love to crochet on road trips!
This is beautiful. Can you recommend ( or have you designed) a plain granny square pattern that can alternate with this?
I have not.
Love the flower square . What is the size of the finished square ? Thanks for sharing a lovely pattern.
Let me check, 5.5 inches by 5.5 inches.
At 9:22 you are saying (DC, TR, CH2, TR, DC) but it says differently in the screen. The TR and DC are mixed up
Yes thank you, sadly once the video is published I can’t fix it without taking the video down.
I made this square but I started each round with a standing dc instead of two chains.: much neater and easier to close the round.
I very much agree! It is just some people don't know how to do a standing double crochet so I used the CH2 in the video for them. I definitely think the standing DC is better.
Lindo 💖
thanks
Cool pattern, I'm excited to try it. Question: at 06:18, was that an actual slip stitch or was it a single crochet? Which one should it be? Thanks! Looking forward to checking out your other videos too.
It is a single crochet and thanks. I hope you find some projects you like on my channel.
I've adapted this. I've done away with all the stitches that aren't counted and crocheted into the last petal at the bottom to join it
Nice!
I made a fair flower but i lost stitches somehow and the green part was real wonky. I must try again. 🤭🤭 Thank you for the tutorial. I think i am to much a beginner. Sometimes i succeed and sometimes 😅 not so much 😂
You can do it!
I’m going to start this tonight I bought Caron yarn hope it comes out okay..
The size may vary slightly but it should still work fine.
It was gorgeous and fantastic but can I use it to do a dress by doing more of the granny square and joining it together will it be okay
You can use this granny square for any personal project or for a project that is a gift. You just can't use the design to make your own design and sell the pattern, if that makes sense.
at the 6:16 time stamp, you say to slip stitch to the chain one space? is that the only one that different or is that just a single crochet too?
I believe for that whole row you will be working single crochets after each petal.
Hi Jeanhere love this square and your instructions i want to do your square but much bigger do you perhaps have another pattern that is approximately 75cm square. I know you must be busy but would love to hear from you. Thanks regards jean
The best I can recommend is to add a few extra rows to make it large. I will be working on a smaller version soon but I do not have a bigger one. You can also go up a hook size and see how much that changes the size.
Love this square please can you tell me what yarn you used it looks so soft and squidgy
I used red heart super saver. If you are looking for soft and squishy, I like the Red heart With Love.
Wonderful job! How could I make it into a smaller square? I'm a beginner.
Easiest way would be to use a smaller hook or smaller yarn.
I love this pattern and currently using it in my project. But I have a question, maybe someone also noticed it before but shouldn't the written description for Row 4 say: [(DC, TR, CH2, TR, DC)] as the corner is supposed to be symmetrical, isn't it?
You are correct. It has been mentioned before. I think I say the instructions correctly but they are written wrong.
The 16 DC didn’t work for me to get 8, in the second row. Even not considering the chains in the beginning like a stitch.
There are 2 (DC2TOG) in each repeat. so 8 repeats times 2 (DC2TOG) = 16. So basically you are work a (DC2TOG) into every stitch but you are alternating between 2 chain and 1 chain between the (DC2TOG).
@@WindingRoadCrochet Thank you! It’s working now!!! ♥️
Good day to everyone! I just wanted to ask if there is any way to make this bigger? Thank you!
You could use a thicker yarn, or a larger hook. You could also add more solid rows to the existing square.
How many squares did you use to make a blanket? I am making mine but I would like an estimate.
Thanks!
I didn't make a blanket with these. I just designed the square. I would just measure the square and compare that to the finished measurement of the blanket you would like to make.
How do you do your magic circles? I can't find anything on it.
Here is the video tutorial for it. ua-cam.com/video/fwBhdiwpEQA/v-deo.html
Does the chain 2 in the magic circle count as a DC ?
Not for this pattern.
@@WindingRoadCrochet thank you for the clarification .. and thank you for the lovely pattern .. it’s beautiful 😍
How big does this measure when done? I’m looking for something close to 7in
With my tension and an 5.5mm (i ) hook they square WAS 5.5 inches squared.
is it a slip knot or a dc on the petal she says both?????
I would like to help but I need to know what row you are talking about.
Can I do with a 4 mm crochet hook
You can use any size hook you like and any yarn you would like. The finished size will just vary.
Hi I just wanted to ask how many double crochet was made in the first part, is the 2 chain also considered as a double crochet?
Also where did you connect 5he slip stich in the first part, was it at the chain 2 or the first double crochet
There is 16 Dc in the first row. My CH2 does not count as a stitch.
To the first Double crochet.
@@WindingRoadCrochet thank you so much!
Can I use cotton yarn?
Absolutely!
What kind of border did you do for this
The last row is just double crochet.
Can u make a steering wheel cover with this granny square???
I would think it would be too big. Maybe if you used a smaller yarn and smaller hook.
may i ask how thick were the yarns are?
The yarn I used was a catergory 4 worsted weight yarn.
What size of your crochet hook?
Size I or 5.5 mm crochet hook
I just wanted to clarify the green corner squares are 2 DC, 2 TC , c2, 2 DC, 2 TC ..is that right
I believe there is a typo on the one screen instructions.
It should be 2 DC, 2 TC, CH2, 2 TC, 2 DC
@@WindingRoadCrochetthank you, i had seen the correction from previous comment. Ty for the beautiful motif tutorial! I am making them for a lined bag, gorgeous!!
How did you join them?
I didn't make a finished project with this, but since the outside color is all the same you could use a whip stitch to join them or a invisible stitch or I like work a flat slip stitch when joining the piece together.
im stuck at the petals, how do you know whats a single chain hole and what's a double chain hole? it all looks the same to me
The 2 CH space is a bit larger than the 1ch space. If you can't figure it out, just pick a space to start in and remember to treat every other space like a CH2 space.
@@WindingRoadCrochet okay, also is it supposed to lay flat?
Yes it should lay flat but if it doesn’t you can block it to lay flat.
@@WindingRoadCrochet okay, also any idea why Im getting nine instead of 8 petals?
nvm, I think I skipped one of the single crochets and went straight to another cluster group 😭 this is tricky but fun lmao
💞🥰💞
Thanks
How long is it when it's finished?
5.5 inches by 5.5 inches
@@WindingRoadCrochet cool! Thank you so much for the pattern, I can't wait to make it!
❤ size needle?
I use a size H 5 mm hook. This is just the pattern for the square and not a finished project so you could use any hook that gives you the desired size square.
