You ever use Balsa sticks? Bought them last week, tried to pop up a roach and it sank like the titanic. Got the large ones too. I can't seem to get them to pop up. I was only using smelt and roach too.

Hello Mark, this video is a few years old now hence me using my old pike rods. I still have those rods and they are very nice.
They are the fox predator XS in 2.75lb tc. Fox still make some great deadbait rods, the closest to them particular rods would be these.

Hello Matthew, I had two nets in the video. The green net was an Advanta cx 42inch net. The black net I can only compare to Del Boys broom! It’s a net I’ve had for years but it’s had about 4 new meshes, and 5 new handles!! The best aspect of that net is I’ve fitted a fox rubber mesh so that the hooks are less likely to get caught up.

I have never tried Pike fishing this way here in the USA I have all the carp kit and was wondering why you open the bail on your reels couldn't you use the regular bobbins for carp fishing
