Hey Lath, hope everything goes well for you. As for FtD, I loved that giant HEAT missile the satellite fired. You should totally make a ship designed with a giant missile like that to aim for the biggest, slowest craft on the battlefield. Make it like a giant sea based SCUD missile. Fires once and then uses a small assortment of advanced cannons for its self defense afterwards. Mighty expensive, mighty inefficient... but mighty cool, and ain’t that all that matters?
I watched a video on the next update, and boy, there are going to be ships with huge missles, and you will be able to give the A.I. on craft custom voice lines, from anything. Now you can have a battleship that just spits out Chaos Space Marine voicelines everytime it fires it cannons.

I feel like the kinetic missiles are a cheap alternative to a four shot railgun. You have four missiles that basically go in a straight line, they hit pretty much the same spot, & do a decent chunk of damage. A nice & easy early game version of a much more expensive weapon. Downsides are pretty obvious, but they're doing the job versus the Deepwater Guard, so they're serving their purpose well. Lathrix, we all hope that you & your family have a better future than the past few weeks, & although Drunk-thrix is creative in his designs, please don't drink too much & look after your health. As a quick idea for a build: make a flyer which just has a quick charging, quick depleting, short range, spinal mounted Lazer, that goes on continual strafeing runs. You can either go for a big tanky flyer, bit like the envoy or that bomber from last series, that has a really big laser for taking out big targets in one go, or you can go for a little flyer, which you can spam an just have swarm the enemy. Should be pretty good against the onyx watch, with high armour pentration.

Sir Admiral Mosley's Journal Entry Two: Reports have come in of our attempt to remove some of the enemy from our territory, We sent in a Shrike, I believe, and we lost contact when the entire tail of the aircraft was blown off. This discovery was made after the Rapier we sent to accompany the Shrike stalled due to engine troubles. The shrike gallahanting ahead cost us a very expensive aircraft. Expensive for us at least. The first thing to be destroyed was the Rapier's missile launcher, which practically neutered the craft of the ability to defend itself. Then we heard an explosion in the captain's deck then all that followed was static. I don't know why we even bother. I fell like we're a straw man, made only to be pushed over to make someone feel good about themselves. We're the damned laughing stock of Neter. The next encounter was something new, we finally stopped pratting around and scraped up a ''fleet'' of a Shrike, a Corsair and a Flying Squirrel. I would say we're a Mickey Mouse Operation when we're not even Betty sodding Boop. The Shrike and the Flying Squirrel charged into battle, without going into formation as the Corsair just laid around the back and came in last. The Flying Squirrel died almost immediately and the Shrike missed their only chance at downing the airship. The Shrike lost a chunk of wing and started to circle as one of it's tail wings were destroyed. Both the Left wings, side and tail, were destroyed, and no the Shrike wasn't all right. The Shrike eventually lost control and crashed into the ocean. As always. The Corsair's Stern Radar and missile systems were destroyed as it just floundered like a fish. The BO was deserted immediately and it's a wonder we weren't caught. We're just going to head to the Main Fort and just hide their. We left the Turret in the BO on Auto-Pilot to give them a scare. I doubt it works at all now. Captain Sal is an idiot. I swear, he always pulls something like this. Instead of forming a decent fleet to do a sort of defensive line and hold them off, grinding down their numbers in a war of attrition, he just sends glorified sailboats and biplanes, hoping that it could repel these airships. Nope. Never Works. What can we do? Do we run? Where do we run? We might as well raise the white flag. Every day it's normal to have two or more of our bases go quiet. That shouldn't be normal. They have lost nothing and we're losing everything. And here Sal is, throwing Playground insults to a Iron-Willed Tactician. We stand no chance. We might as well run. I'm setting up a small boat now with some of my followers. We're going to the Lightning Hoods. I'd rather be turned into a toaster than die with Sal, who has the diplomatic skills of gangrene. Just heard something from the Onyx Watch, apparently there's this new submersible the New Guy's got. Yes. I shall from here on out refer to this new individual as ''New Guy''. Apparently it has teeth and spikes and looks like a lizard. Reminds me of my childhood. Well not the Lizard part. Anyways, the point is that the Onyx Watch lost to a Submarine more than three times smaller than it which looked like and Angry Lizard. Like a Komodo Dragon. I'll call it the Komodo Dragon from now on so it sounds less embarrassing when we inevitable lose to it. And now the final report of the day before I run away to the Lightning Hoods. The Corsair went silent almost immediately, we lost contact with the Strat Bomber after, I assume, its comms were knocked out. We lost contact with The Kalmar after it's bridge and presumably the captain were destroyed which only left Captain Sal left. We lost contact with Sal after we heard some sort of loud noise in the Bridge, which probably means it was destroyed so that means that Sal is dead. Sal is Dead. So yes. This is the perfect time to rally some support and run off to the Lightning Hoods. The thought of an Omnissiah really appeals to me so I won't have an issue there. I pray that I will write again. Praise be to the Omnissiah.
i just realised, the Orion Drive (hypothetical nuclear space propulsion) is basically rocket jumping with nukes... Lathrix's dyslexia actually did something... slightly less useless XD
What would it take for Lathrix to make a seabed-crawling tank? Maybe only a bottle of alcohol and a formal challenge? Hold that thought, he would at that point make something far different.
I'm not very good at the game, but one thing I'd always wanted to make was a water skimmer armed with a continuous laser turret and just have it circle the enemy at rapid speeds, widdling them down block by block.
Something I think would be cool is a swarm of small flying things. They’d fly at the target and drill into them. Probably wouldn’t be efficient, but it might look cool. Name them Locusts or something like that.
there are two types of Lathrix. Drunkthrix, a built ship that has creative design both the craft and weaponry. cost-efficient from the capability and size of the craft. Sleepthrix, build a large station and a large ship, an overpowering a certain type of weaponry, Expressing Psychopath behavior, desperate need of Coffee or Sleep. also Workaholic.
you should give the envoys a couple drones each so when they do fleet combat you have them and a bunch of tiny ships attacking like a cool scouting fleet.
Question: Wouldn't the missiles be more precise especially against small and erratic targets using APN instead of target prediction? I'm thinking about 1.5 gain.
Make the Envoy II: Many very small EMP mortars, and then one high armor piecing advanced cannon with low damage. It just pelts them with EMP to shut off weapons then prays it cores them out.
Piranhas lean more towards being a conveyor belt than circling- unlike sharks, which circle for getting visual ID/trying to get a flanking attack/to corral shoals of fish, a piranha mostly relies on scent to identify corpses or dying animals and uses vibroreception (basically passive sonar) to synchronise with the rest of a feeding frenzy. They're actually very orderly fish; each fish goes in, takes a chunk, and swallows while it circles back around, and they do it in consecutive order with basically zero fuss, which is how they eat so fast. By using teamwork to locate and eat their food, and using their vibroreception to ensure they all know it's time to dig in, a shoal of piranha can locate and strip carcasses much faster than a lone fish that weighs the same amount. They're actually kinda like bombers now I think about it- they both get close, attack, and then circle around to reload while their buddies dig in. Could be inspiration for a future design? I like the idea of piranhas as laser bombers.
"My beard is down to my chest" I now need a photo of this. Like so he knows we need a photo of his beard, not his chest, his beard, lets not be weird..

Lathrix: oh hey, tequila
Also lathrix 2 seconds later:MUST BUILD UNDERWATER BOAT THINGY
Between this and his Honorbound play through it might be the best time to watch Lath.
i just realised, the Orion Drive (hypothetical nuclear space propulsion) is basically rocket jumping with nukes... Lathrix's dyslexia actually did something... slightly less useless XD
"and now we have a submarine."
That, sir, is an abyssal. (or ironblood...)
Moving on.
What would it take for Lathrix to make a seabed-crawling tank?
Maybe only a bottle of alcohol and a formal challenge?
Hold that thought, he would at that point make something far different.
Wow, I'm really on time today, lol. Thanks for the video Lath!
I like how whenever lathrix builds something the reason is usually alcohol
Hi Lathrix,
thank you for another FtD-episode.
Time to take a break. Manny thanks for providing such great entertainment
Love the idea of a larger more badass Envoy. Or maybe just a support Envoy, that sits at range with a big gun?
you should give the envoys a couple drones each so when they do fleet combat you have them and a bunch of tiny ships attacking like a cool scouting fleet.
Question: Wouldn't the missiles be more precise especially against small and erratic targets using APN instead of target prediction? I'm thinking about 1.5 gain.
I've looked at this game for a while now - I'm definitely getting it now, what a lovely playthrough!!!
Make the Envoy II: Many very small EMP mortars, and then one high armor piecing advanced cannon with low damage. It just pelts them with EMP to shut off weapons then prays it cores them out.
I love it when you build regardless of its redundancy
submarines in ftc will never make sense to me, ive watched more than 3 hours of tutorials and i got no clue.
Hey Lathland, thanks for the video! Hope your mother will get well soon. Stay safe and healthy yourself!
Spooky sneaky submarines send shivers down their keel.
"My beard is down to my chest"
I now need a photo of this.
Like so he knows we need a photo of his beard, not his chest, his beard, lets not be weird..
This is one of the few creators who can get drunk and make a better video because of it well on camera, but you get what I mean
Local British man gets drunk and somehow steals 1 US Ohio class nuclear submarine.
I've been watching your stuff for a while, through the Stellaris videos.
And at this point, I've had more than enough chuckles to warrant subscribing.
So congratz to you, Lathrix, you've gained a new subscriber this day.
While I do love all the creations that Drunkthrix has brought into this world, I am getting a bit worried about you, hope you're not overdoing it with the alcohol.
Torpedo's are just missiles from our friendly mer-people.
Need a fleet tender, a reasonably nippy supply and repair ship to go back and forth to service the fleets and possibly ferry excess resources back to the shipyards, so that the combat vessels can just keep combating.
A super sized Envoy named the Missionary or the Diplomat, and just one of them as a capital ship, no more.
