  • In this video I show you 3 types of copying - 1. Copying Preset Rhythms; 2. Copying User Rhythms; 3. Copying Variation Patterns.
    Editing a pre-set rhythm is a great way to customise the keyboard to your own liking, without having to start completely from scratch, but you will need to copy and save it into a User Rhythm. Then you can go ahead and customise it without affecting the original pre-set.
    You may also want to copy a User Rhythm, so that you can keep your first edits, and develop it further in another one.
    Finally, I will show you to copy a pattern within a Rhythm. This is very useful when you've created your own rhythm (which could include bass and chord parts), and then edit and vary them further with other variations and fills.
    But there are some issues you may encounter...watch the end of the video!

    Hi Stewart,
    I recently purchased a Casio CT-X5000 and while I'm loving it, it is also quite complex, sometimes rather counterintuitive, and the manual is not always as helpful as it could be.
    I'm LOVING your videos on the CT-X3000, which is very similar and many of the functions operate identically. I just wanted you to know that your clear, calm, and precise presentations are very helpful and very much appreciated. I am slowly going through them all, in the order that you've posted them. I will continue until I've gone through them all. Hopefully more will be forthcoming.
    Again, much appreciation and gratitude.

      Thanks for the feedback. There are a few more topics to cover, such as tone editing, so stay tuned! All the best.

    Very helpful tutorial videos Sir. I really appreciate very much for your patience and effort in making tutorials just to make us owners of casio ct x3000/5000 keyboard learn on how to use and operate such keyboard. I look forward watching your next tutorials particularly in creating new user rhythm like love song/ballad with all variations and fill-ins. I really gain more knowledge through your tutorials Sir. Keep up the good work. Thanks and God bless.❤

    Thanks for the help, the x3000 manual is one of the most badly written manuals I have ever read.

      Maybe it was written by AI? It certainly doesn't have much of a "human" voice.

    Hi, excellent videos, I was able to copy a rhythm and paste it into a new user rhythm but I can't edit it, when I'm in edit mode and I press record the screen says "FIXED", how can I edit it?

    • @StewartWallaceSJWMusic
      @StewartWallaceSJWMusic  2 роки тому

      Hi Francisco. You will need to delete the part completely, and then you record your new idea. You can't edit a fixed part, but by deleting it you can add your own parts to a copied pre-set rhythm. You can do some mixer level editing, without deleting the part completely.
      Check out page EN-82 for a chart that shows "Part Data Status Indicators" which explains it in more detail.
      I hope that helps. All the best.

    Thank you very much, your tutorials are very useful. I want to know in 4/4 beat 2 bar rhythm, can I copy only 2nd bar into 4/4 beat 1st bar. Please confirm. I want to separate 2 bars.

      Mmm🤔. Unfortunately, I don't think that's going to work in exactly the way you want. However, there is some freeware (with suggested donation) called ReStyle which allows you to do some moving and splitting of AC7 RHYTHM files that can't be done directly on the keyboard. Check out this UA-cam video from Chandler Holloway, who describes what the software can do - ua-cam.com/video/0HgqYbe31v4/v-deo.htmlsi=fFwMV4lGjc2x1-uz
      I don't think it's exactly what you're after, but it does give some extra functions that might help you. 😎

    hello! I would like to change variation and play fill -in at the same time or first. Is this possible?

    • @StewartWallaceSJWMusic
      @StewartWallaceSJWMusic  2 роки тому

      Hi Carlos,
      I'm not entirely sure what you want to do, but there are basically three ways of controlling the accompaniment patterns while you play.
      1. Pressing the variation button that you are playing will add a fill and it will stay on that variation.
      2. Pressing another variation button will jump to that new variation, without a fill.
      3. Pressing the variation button that you are playing followed by another variation button will play a fill and then move to the new variation.
      I hope that answers your question!

    Hi Stewart, one question please, why this keyboard had only 1 output for external speakers (for live), is there any way to change it to stereo? The others keyboards had 2 outputs L and R, please help me, thank you bro

      I wanna play on live and I don't want a mono sound :'(

      Great question! Something I hadn't really thought about until now.
      On the CTX-5000 you've got a stereo headphone jack output plus two separate mono (L & R) jack outputs. That allows you to feed the signal into two separate mixer channels for balancing, EQ, and FX.
      However, you only get one headphone jack output on the CTX-3000, but it is STEREO, so you can get a L/R splitter cable converter that will separate the output allowing you to then go into two separate mixer channels, just like on the CTX-5000. Although you now lose a headphone socket, there may be a headphone output on your mixer which you could use. Of course, you can also turn on the keyboard speakers and hear the sound from there (unless you're playing in a really LOUD club).
      You want to search for something like "1/4" 6.35mm Stereo Plug/Male to Dual 1/4" 6.35mm Jack/Female Splitter Adapter Cable Converter". You will also need a couple of 1/4" jack to jack "guitar" cables, to plug into this converter on one end and into your mixing desk on the other.
      By the way, Mono jack plugs are sometimes called TS - Tip, (one black circle), Sleeve. Stereo jack plugs are sometimes called TRS - Tip, Ring (between two black circles), Sleeve. (Your phone might have a TRRS socket which is for L & R audio and microphone signals.)
      I hope that makes sense. Let me know how you get on. Keep making great music!
