- DIY Testing Kiss Gel Nail Kit. I decided to try another nail kit. This one is the Kiss brush on gel nail kit. This kit is for those who just want a simple short nail extensions. It can also be used an overlay on the natural nails. Super short nails aren't really my style but I do love how these turned out. See how I did these easy gel nails step by step.

You motivated me to buy this nail kit with your tutorial. I didnt even open the instructions, just followed your directions. They came out PERFECT!!!! They look like salon nails! You rock.
How long they lasted ?
@@NakitaCherie I've had them on for 3 weeks. They are just now looking like they need a fill. I will see if they come off gently. And then I can redo.
The tips began to lift and easily popped off after 3 weeks. I buffed off the left over residue. I'm sure you could just soak your fingers for easier removal, but I was in a hurry.

@@emmamargaretmaeve9257 I trimmed off the tips, and the rest peeled off easily. Whatever was left, I buffed off. Then used nail polish remover to clean up. Not painful at all like other false nails I've tried. Total of maybe 10-15 mins.
It was funny cause she said “how could you mess this up”, so I went out and got it. I ended up getting my nail stuck to the counter 😂😂😂😂

What did you when your nails grew out?
Shateka Provo these didn’t last for me more than 7 days each time I did them. I’m hard on nails, I wash dishes a lot, cook, clean etc and rarely wear gloves. They didn’t get the chance to grow out..going to try the brush on gel nails using her tutorial next. I also only used two coats, maybe 3 would have made them last longer...
I just used this kit a few days ago. They actually turned out pretty well for my FIRST try! I did cut the corners and filed them into an oval/almond shape.

I used long tips and did 3 layers of gel and they turned out like acrylics! Its been 4 days and they're still perfectly fine. Make sure to buff them out really well before polish so they don't look all lumpy.

you must not do any work around the house then lol. i used this kit with the clear tips on and they didnt last good any longer than 48 hours.

How long did they last ?
I use the Kiss ready to wear press on nails and I LOVE them (I did a review on my channel as well) but I'm actually so excited to try these ones now. She totally inspired me too. The press on ones are easier but this may be longer wear because of the brush on gel. OMG I can't wait to try it.
I tried these once before but watched this to see if she had any tips for keeping the brush from stiffening

She skipped telling us VERY important info, and is not the best teacher at ALL! She COULD be; but she seems more into zipping thru than breaking down & showing EACH step. She assumed a lot about her audience. Sorry, chica ... we need each step clearly shown, explained, and with questions answered, thank you. That's fundamental, period.
Your glue brush is hard because you have to let the activator dry first because the activator is activating the glue on your brush causing it to harden. I use a piece of towel to wipe off access activator before doing the next coat.

I got this kit way back when, before I really got obsessed with nails(like 8 or more years ago!) and girl, I STILL have that brush cleaner and use it to this day! Lol I’ve since moved on to professional products and have really expanded my technique. These and Kiss’ acrylic kits tho were really what helped get my foot in the door to the nail world and are great for beginners! A tip to people just getting started tho, definitely invest in a good brush and don’t get any of the brushes from Sally’s, they are terrible!
Even the short acrylic brushes in the kiss box are better than the Sally's brushes. I agree with you

Okay so I bought these to act as a saviour since everything closed for this pandemic. Girl mistake proof?!
1. I watched your video 5 times then step by step.
2. I chose the wrong tip. My hand was shaking like I was having a seizure. Thing fell 3 times.
3. Glue bottle fell as I was putting the brush in... hand got stuck to the bottle.
4. I lost count of what coat I was on on what finger.
5. I got cotton stuck to a nail had to redo the whole thing.
At the end it turned out like her video y'all but, I'm stressed 😂😭. I got the other hand to do.

This kit is awesome but it can only handle one fill if that the material starts to crack and I think it’s just bc this “Gel” that they reference to is actually glue
yes that's very true. i purchased the exact kit last week, put the clear tips on and tell me why after 2 days the bottom corners were cracking up and lifting. they are very pretty but definitely temporary.

I bought the brush on gel nail kit and used this video rather then the instructions. I even put on three coats like she said. Nails came out so much better then expected!!!

You soak them off in 100% acetone and _gently_ push the "melted" product off of your nails. Don't forget to use a nail oil, cuticle cream, or even lotion or Vaseline on your skin before soaking to protect it from over-drying in the acetone.

@@shivairas6717 Absolutely do not do this. They are _far_ too thin to ever need an e-file. Gel resin is brittle, as well, and the rotation of the bit could cause pieces to chip and take layers of the natural nail with them
Soak pieces of cotton ball in acetone put it on your finger nails wrap aluminum foil to hold it in place 5 minutes twist rub it off. Done.

After over 6 months... Before getting a new kit, (I just rather do my own nails, It saves me money:). I watched the video again. What I found out is that I can use the cleaner to clean off the old gel brushes I have. So don't throw away the old brushes. Don't use nail polish remover either. Use the cleaner that comes with the kit. It worked for me. I love watching your videos.
The intro gets me every time hahahah 😂 but Love it 😂❤️

I got the polly nail gel and they work sooo well and look more like acrylic that stick one but the difference is no tip to snap off and it doesn’t ruin your nails xx

This is probably the best $5.00 I've ever spent.
I found this product at the local dollar tree store. I'm currently in the process of finishing my nails. Right now I'm at two coats & I'm in between drying. Here is how I used the product.
1. I figured out which nails would fit my fingers & filed down the sides of the ones that were too big on the sides in order for them to fit.
2. I took off the tips & filed the tops down.
3. I used super glue to glue the nails down to my nail bed by adding one drop to the clear strip at the bottom of the nail. I the press down & the glue distributed to each side.
4. I then put super glue on the side of each nail to make sure the sides are secure. This will cause super glue to leak a little but it's ok.
5. Let it dry.
6. I then filed the sides & the top of each nail.
7. I got the tip of the file on a toe nail clippers & used it to separate my nail from the super glue under the nail.
8. I then buffed the top of the nail where the tip & my nail meet with a nail file to make sure it was smooth with no bump.
9. I then applied gel activator to the nail.
10. I opened the brush activator & put the top to the side.
11. I then opened the brush cleaner & dipped the brush cleaner brush into the activator bottle.
12. I brushed the activator on my nail on top of the wet gel.
13. I placed the brush cleaner brush back into the brush cleaner bottle.
15. I closed the brush cleaner bottle the bottle upside down & shake the bottle.
16. I open the brush cleaner bottle & wipe down the sides of the brush bristles on the bottle three times to be sure the bristles don't become hard.
17. I repeat step 9 - 16 on all ten nails.
18. After the first coat on all ten nails I then close the brush on activator bottle turn it upside down & shake the bottle.
19. I repeat steps 9 - 16 when applying a second coat.
20. I let nails dry 20 minutes after two coats.
21. I repeat steps 9 - 16 until nails are to desired thickness.

Tried this kit and it’s super easy never had my nails done before but wanted to get my nails done for an event and didn’t want spend a lot of money cause i can’t have fake nails or polish on where i work. They came off easy with 100% acetone. Had my nails on for 3 days and had no problems would have lasted a lot longer but due to work had to take them off. Definitely recommend

This is very simple and cute... nails on a budget...
As someone that used to do this as a professional you really want to make sure you apply the tips correctly,by doing the rocking motion,this way you have less air pockets.when you do house chores and if you get water under there that's how you get fungus. Other then that they seem really good just want to make sure you do 3 coast of the gel,that's where you'll get the strength for the nails.
Now when it comes time to take them off,use pure acetone,soak w cotton and wrap w tinfoil,this way it can eat away the gel.
After watching this video I literally went on Amazon and bought 2 because this looks so easy and I’m not very good at acrylic and it just takes way to long to do. I’m so excited for it to get here! I love watching your videos so much 😇❤️
