- In this video I will be testing out the KISS dip powder kit I found at my local grocery store for only $11. Normally french nails would cost me up to $30 so it was only right I test this kit out to see if its worth it. This KISS dip kit gives you a perfect french line with out even trying. You can find this kit at almost every grocery store or drug store.

The "brush on gel" is just nail glue so that's what you use for the tips. Also for anyone who likes this you don't have to buy a kit you just need acrylic powder and brush on nail glue.
What I prefer a lot more though is gel base coat and acrylic powder. You do 2-3 layers and cure each layer

No you need the activator as some glues won't completely dry by themselves

@@lailawyllie8861 No you don't need an activator for the glue to dry, like you don't when you're gluing nail tips. Actually nail glue dries in seconds as it's mainly cyanoacrylate. I used this method before I got my hands on polygels and acrylic
This is the best kit ever. The pour over method for the powder and a 4way buffing block to buff when finish makes the results look more professional.
I love getting them done at the salon but press-on’s and dip powders are really helping the game change up. Learning a new skill while saving a lot of coins
Plus… no awkward conversations at the salon cause you’re at home plus wearing whatever you want cause you’re at home
If you read the instructions it says that the gel is what you use to glue the tip on. Also, there's a tip that says to first apply the gel on the base of the nail and not the tip and dip it into the powder. That way you will start out with a more level base. Which means these thicker tips are great for durability as well as longevity. 😊
Read the instructions, the sponge is a brush to brush of the powder and the brush on gel is glue.

Yes I tried this kid in the sponge does help with taking a pad off but I realized that when I use the sponge it doesn't get all the powder off really it's like it's all still in my cuticle so I honestly use a kabuki brush and that works just fine

I love how kiss grew over the years they used to never have the big nail file. And they also used to never have that try at least where I live. I love kiss it’s the OG nail brand I used to use and now I use dip well.

Thank you so much. My son is getting married in six weeks and I wanted to get my nails done but I can’t find a nail tech in my area that does nails properly. They are all square beyond the cuticle and there’s no curve down. I have several friends who get theirs done and they all look like a beginner did them. Now, I can do it myself.
You have to file the nails down first before you apply the dip so it won't have those dips in the nail

@@livstevens6177 it does say that but in my experience with this kit it doesn’t perform very well as glue. I had better luck using actual nail glue. It’s still the kiss brand.

Just brought the key today. I have never ever done my own nails, well not acrylic ones anyway. I'm hoping I can really concentrate and try and do them as best as I can and if I can do them good. I'll continue doing them myself. Im excited to give this ago this evening and nervous I do not want to mess it up. Fingers crossed I can get my nails done well.

The spongy is a lint free nail wipe, or at least that's the purpose. They hold a lot of cleaner/alcohol and clean very well, and actually leave 0 lint

Not to be mean but u we’re supposed to put the activator befor u but the gel and powder it’s to keep ur nail from lifting…
I have this same kit and I'm looking at the directions.and it doesn't have that step? It says to put activator after you do the brush gel and dip two three times if you want. And then you put on the activator then you file shape and buff then reapply the activator at the end as well. Pushing ur cuticles back and filing I thought helps from lifting. But I'm just reading the directions lol. So does putting the activator on first really help more?
No, the activator hardens the gel and powder layers so you can file and buff them. If you were to put anything else first, it would be a dehydrator and a primer.

Nope not needed. Cuz the activator I believe.
What could I use if you may know to get it more pinker ?
If you have a pink acrylic powder. You can use that. All dip powders are simply colored acrylic powders. 😊
