I’ve already seen this at a festival and it was one of those movies I immediately wanted to see again after it had finished. I honestly can’t wait to watch it again - it’s so so good! 😁😁
"Maybe we are only two people but this is how things change." These words said by Oleg Penkovsky( one of the main characters) struck me. I finished watching the movie just an hour ago and I'm literally impressed. "The Courier" has left me speechless. It's a masterpiece that everybody should see. I totally recommend it. Wow. ❤️
And he was young Peter Guillam in the film version... which I approached with gigantic trepidation and resentment - the miniseries was a perfect thing of beauty and there they were not leaving well enough alone - then to my astonishment, the best film was to see all past decade unfolded before my eyes.
To anyone wondering if this is a good movie, yes it is! It just starts slow but its real pleasant to watch. It taught me so much about loyalty and trust to anyone who deserves it and that it only takes one person for change to happen.
I love Benedict Cumberbatch and his period pieces however most of his movies are period now and almost always "Based on a True Story". I would like to also see him do more modern movies because he is a great actor.
benedict has acted out some of the most intelligent characters (sherlock, dr. strange, alan turing). really interesting to see him take on an average character.
I saw the movie today. Not only was Benedict superb the whole cast was perfect. It was an emotional rollercoaster & will stay with me a long time. Beautiful film. ,
LOL XD More like, "We need a POSH and very ENGLISH dad bloke," thereby excluding Wales (boyo Michael Sheen), Ireland (Cillian Murphy), Northern Ireland (Liam Neeson), and Scotland (David Tennant).
Can we just appreciate Oleg Penkovsky and Greville Wynne for what they did to avoid a nuclear war between US and Russia, and not only to praise the actors (which of course they did an excellent job), but I don't see any comments regarding those 2 legendary men.
Wowww this looks absolutely incredible - as a Russian speaker myself (having studied it and lived in Russia) this is right up my street! Also anything with Benedict C is always a winner
There are quiet European enclaves on private islands in the Pacific, served by native help glad to have cash and bling, with fresh produce flown in every day from New Zealand. A Shangri la. Conversely, there is NOTHING in Stalin's or Mao's or Biden's or Xi's 'best efforts' to create a Utopia. What about small groups? The Shakers died out, and the Quakers are like the Mormons, you do as you are told. Is that the Martial Utopia? A masked Utopia with troops, tanks and razor wire running around the Capitol? Utopia that can only be found by owning nothing and being happy? For me, Utopia is in the gravitational neural position between Self and no-Self, between Ego and Ego-less. Even a plant has Ego, in reaching above Others, towards the Sun. 'Be in the World, but not of it.' Feral. In the gaps. 'Utopia' is an absolute social construct that collapses when the resources run out, when the native help stop doing the laundry and the flights from New Zealand end. Imagine if fresh produce flights from China and Chile and trucked produce from Mexico were halted at the border. Imagine the bare shelf supermarket aisles. They say it takes only 9 days from Utopia to World War Z. We'll find out October 1st when Biden-Harris National Worker Evictions and Student Loan Repossessions begins, under Wide Open Borders. Halloween, Bloody Halloween!🎃
Looks cool and Cumberbatch is always a joy to watch! Rachel Brosnan is also a joy to watch and not just for her acting ability which is superb! She is delicious eye candy!

After being Alan Turing in The Imitation game, another world war character in The Courier. 'Seems like Doctor Strange is really working on his Time Stone.🧛♂️
If it wasn't for Oleg and Greville who knows how the world would've been today or if we would've still be here. May they rest in peace! I wouldn't have the courage to do that.
Some time ago I would consider that a preposterous idea that Benedict could pull off John Cleese, but after Liam Neeson's crazy performance as BadCop/GoodCop in Lego Movie, I will never discount the abilities of great actors to be in a zany role. I should have realized that even further before with Kenneth Branagh in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.

Oh good; it's about time there was a film about Greville Wynne (who my father knew well). And it looks like Cumberbatch is a superb piece of casting. I hope Penkovsky gets some good coverage in it.
Outstanding movie - and the true Penkovsky-Wynne story is even more fascinating. I read somewhere that the maps used in the story are actual documents from the Cuban missile crisis - declassified of course.
