  • Prokinetics (things that regulate motility and the MMC) are incredibly helpful for people with IBS and SIBO. In fact, they're borderline miraculous for bloating, abdominal distention, and post-meal fullness. But, there are a gazillion herbal prokinetics out there... How the heck are you supposed to choose one?! Well, it's a good thing for you that I'm such a nerd- I share my research in this video so you can make an informed decision!

    I’m so glad you mentioned being careful of what’s on Amazon. If you check the FAQ or (if you’re a practitioner) your agreement with the company, most of them forbid selling on reseller sites like Amazon-Biotics, Standard Process, Apex, etc. What’s on Amazon is not from the companies, so you have no idea of their storage type (how hot or cold), or how close to expiration they are, or even if it’s the right product.

      Yes, I totally agree. I bought what I _thought_ was Bind (activated charcoal with natural synergistic herbs), and it had one very subtle difference in the ingredients. I reached out to the company that makes Bind and they said they do NOT sell on Amazon. Um...$50 down the drain for not doing my due diligence beforehand, but I learned my lesson.

    Very compelling-I was discovered to have POTS and I wonder if it’s the underlying reason for GI dysfunction (but I’ve also had bowel endometriosis so may not be just that). I had wondered if an earlier stage of endometriosis was messing up my vagus nerve, then later after the POTS diagnosis doing research I discovered there is a connection to acetylcholine receptors. hmmmm. Definitely coming info here as always!

    Dr. DiNezza, I saw one of your UA-cam videos dealing with people with SIBO and Celiac disease not having to continue taking enzymes. My gastroenterologist diagnosed me with EPI/ Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency approximately 2 years ago. He was able to control the stomach pains and help me evacuate after meals With the Pharmaceutical enzymes he prescribed; however, inflammation, diarrhea (sometimes), and constipation (sometimes) persist. I must mention that before the enzymes I had to always be near a restroom because I had no idea of when I was going to have a bowel movement and now I have somewhat better control of that situation. Your UA-cam video interested me more than others because I would not like to depend on these pharmaceutical enzymes (Zenpep), not only because they derive from lab pigs but also because it is a real drag having to take them with every meal.. Should I change to natural enzymes like you mentioned in your Video? Do you still do Zoom meetings? P.S. I would like to mention that my doctor mentioned that I did not have Celiac disease and am almost 90% sure I do not have Sibo.

    • @cougercruiser
      @cougercruiser Місяць тому

      You can't be 90% sure of anything without a test. There are many people with SIBO that have varying degrees of symptoms. Some have constipation, others have diarrhea, bloating, dehydration, back pain etc. Take the Triosmart breath test to ACTUALLY know you don't have sibo. You don't even need a doctors prescription to order the test.

    Hi Nicole, how long do you normally wait to see if one is effective?

    • @gutmicrobiomequeen
      @gutmicrobiomequeen  5 місяців тому +2

      You can usually judge if it's working within a week! Most typically, people notice a difference in 4-5 days.

    I took Motility Activator and it caused me massive headaches, the doctor told me ginger too much ginger is the problem.

      That’s odd because I have seen studies saying that ginger helps treat migraine headaches. I know that the pure encapsulation motil pro product has tons of ginger extract compared to any other.

    Why the h do we have to watch a zillion UA-cam videos about our health to try to figure this out ourselves? Why don't we have reasonably priced health care professionals who have this knowledge and we can trust them to give us good advice? I don't have to watch a zillion UA-cam videos to learn how to fix my car. I take it to a reasonably priced mechanic who fixes it for me and I can trust that he fixes it.
    Our medical care system is a failure.

    I had weeks of relief taking several grams of choline daily before almost normalizing. I guess from what you just said and my experience with B-vitamins that it works by helping make acetylcholine but other nutrients are necessary too. It seems like B-vitamins and similar can fail to give *sustained* results because the are only part of the necessary metabolic chain and so the weakest link changes when only part of the chain is supplemented.
