Watching “Little House on the Prairie” before going to sleep helps a lot, lol

I would love to see a video on the vagus nerve and heart rate variability. Very interesting
I believe that working on my Vagus nerve stopped my post-covid tachycardia.
Can you share with us your technique of work with the vagus nerve ?
Me to!
I had a neck injury that gave me cervical imbalance and degenerated my vagus nerve and hence I have GI issues. Love that someone finally talked about both issues together! LOVE.
Hey! How did you solve it?
Oh wow I had no idea that a neck injury could do that. I have a lot of digestive issues and a neck injury from when I was 12 and fell off a horse.
Listening to psychology in relationships transformed me in 1 week. But i had to revive this knowledge after 1 year. It changed me. I cut off many friends and some family members. It helped me a lot with overall general anxiety.
Narcissists
Empaths
Codependency
Trauma bonding
I hope this helps anyone. Gratitude was not the root cause for me.
Absolutely. You were living in such a Toxic environment. I hope you are surrounded now with loving and decent human beings.💜 Enjoy the rest of your life and don't allow the past to intrude into your daily thoughts too much!
Yes, ma'am!! You're addressing those root causes!! I love this video. ❤️
I'm very grateful that I have come across your videos. You have helped me immensely with my crohns.
Thank you soooo much for educating us, Dr Nicole! You ( and drs like you) are our only hope, and we’re all rather desperate! Most GI drs just don’t know. So grateful Dr Nicole, please keep helping us!?!
Thanks for the acupuncture shout out! Relaxing the nervous system is what I do every day with my patients. The stomach gurgling happens before I leave room often. Thanks so much for the great videos.
#1 Factor for all ills? STRESS. I know it's easier said than done, but it's critically important to reduce/eliminate stress from one's life. To that end, it is helpful (and necessary) to understand the "human condition" and how our Ego works to thwart out best intentions during the course of our lifetime. I highly recommend that everyone read Eckhart Tolle's, "The Power of Now" (being in the present) and watching his videos. My spiritual journey (nothing to do with religion -- in fact, I'm an agnostic..) was triggered by an event 3 years ago. I do just about everything you mention in your video every day; in particular, the gratitude journal and meditation. I have essentially zero stress in my life and I believe that is the biggest factor in keeping me healthy and not on any medication.
I had a awakening in February 2020 WOW let's collaborator minds please????
Did you do a video on vagus nerve and heart rate? I have gut bloating which causes palpitations for days at a time, and on and off for weeks and months..... Your info on vagal tone sounds spot on.... I have been very miserable for months and have had a palpitation and indigestion flare up to coincide.
Thank you for your videos! Yes to the vagal nerve video, singing and massage always make me feel better, dancing alone while no one is watching is pretty rad too
I love going to grocery store/dept store parking lots and offering to take carts back for people! In didnt know I was stimulating my vagus nerve 🤣
Dr. DiNezza, first, I want to say thank you so much for putting together this wealth of no BS information. I'm a mold exposure survivor with years of massive gut dysfunction. Hubs of clear information, based on real science, and critical thinking like the one you've created are truly the backbone of my recovery journey and prop up my hope that I can recover someday. Second, YAY JAPAN!!!! It's my big recovery goal to be well enough to go to Japan and eat (dare I say) anything I want. I watch a lot of Japan travel videos as well for doses of joy. Thank you again!
Hi Lauren, can I ask what were your symptoms for mold? I have severe weight loss down to 56kgs/125lbs from 75kgs/167lbs, constipation, bloating. I'm positive for methane SIBO and have intermittent gallbladder/bile flow pain. I'm curious whether I have mold as a root cause?
Btw, I travelled to Japan years ago. Tokyo and Osaka are so amazing! 👌
Yeah; the heart rate variability video would be awesome.
I am grateful for your channel and the effort you put into it :)
Helpful information. Thank you!
Thank you! This is a wonderful podcast! I will put into practice a few of the activities for improving the vagal nerve!!
Thx for these great videos, really appreciated.
acupuncture helped with my anxiety & obsessive behavior (ocd). noticed it after my 6th session.
it really does move around the gut, and u feel u need to the toilet. it balances the body, and some how the blood sugar gets balanced even after you stop, i dont need to eat every 3-4 hours, and i can fast for 8-24h which i couldn’t before.
if you have hot flushes men or women (feeling over heat or cold )in the body, acupuncture can definitely help.
Amazing video, thank you so much
This info is pure gold! Thank you so much for discussing emotional aspects and how they can affect vagal tone and digestion. ❤
I just have to say you are amazing! I have done a lot of work and a lot of research etc. and your message is incredibly helpful to me. Thank you for doing what you’re doing.
Thank you so much for this video, I never really thought about thankfulness, empathy and joy related to my gut health.
Thank you for making these videos!! I‘ve felt so alone throughout this whole journey.. this is the first time I feel like someone is helping & supporting me . Thanks ❤ I will be forever grateful.
I love your videos! You’re adorable :)
Needed to hear you talk about working weekend and needing to just chill and watch some Netflix; I’ve been pushing myself hard lately and haven’t given myself the downtime I know I need. Just hard sometimes when you have momentum with things and want to get stuff done. I’ve been using Wim Hof breathing for about a year as it’s apparently good for vagal tone and has been helping me chill out when I get too stressed.
Dr. DiNezza -- I love your perspective. Thank you so much for offering your insight about so many digestive topics. I am a health practitioner and notice the same pattern in myself of working to hard + constipation. I loved this video and plan to take all your advice to heart. So much is common sense and things we know, but easily forget in this modern, fast-paced world.
This is such a GREAT channel!
All your video are so useful.
Thanks for the great advice
I love these very achievable tips and tricks!
Oh and my favourite Vagus Nerve exercise is singing and playing the guitar!
Yes, please do a Video on HRV and the vagus nerve
You are such a gift, thank you so much for your work! Greetings from Germany :)
Nice one. Thanks. meditation/pranayama and mindful eating helps a lot.
1. gratitude
2. empathy
3. helping others
4. connecting with nature
5. connecting with living things
6. yoga
7. meditation
8. acupuncture
9. deep breathing
10. singing or chanting
goal: relax, de-stress
How long can it take to tone the vagus nerve enough to get rid of slow gut motility!
Very glad I found you! 😊
As a 55-year-old woman I had to pause the video and Google BTS and butter lol just to make sure I didn’t miss some thing about a dairy product last year lol. I absolutely love your videos, and it’s a blessing I found you!
5:58 - Gratitude, Empathy, Helping Others
Thank you so much for this video! It's something I suspected I needed, but now I know I need to pay attention to my vagus nerve. The body is wise... thank you so much!
🥰🥰🥰🥰 Go forth and tone that vagus, woman!
Please keep helping us ur so sincere ❤️
I have a few hundred more ideas for UA-cam videos for ya'll 🥰
Hi Dr, so kind and new way of a dr talking to help people. You are so great having a different way that is the right answer to lots of us. You are super doctor love love love you are working on all areas that can heal us. Thank you Dr yes please dr the heart rate and the vagus nerve 110% yes please. Love bernadette xxx❤❤❤
I’d love to see something on brain retraining, neuroplasticity, like DNRS program.
I’ve always liked helping others but that was taken away, apparently I’m supposed to take care of myself but what people don’t realize is helping others is helping myself. Nobody understands me, so annoying. Also getting people that play with my heart and mind out of my life would help tremendously!!!
Thank you for a wonderful Video. My Vagus Nerve was cut during Parathyroid OP, and I am struggling with digestion and pain since. Your explanation helps a lot! 💕
Thank you awesome video awesome information stress has so much to do with everything. Oh, help us.
I'm helping myself here, but also thinking of a friend, who should tap into the interoceptive channel of attention, so as to stimulate the vagus nerve and the whole rest/digest aspect of the autonomic nervous system, parasympathetic etc really crucial...thanks for sharing this kind lady
Excellent Video, very similar stuff what we do in Yoga and Meditation - gratitude, empathy, Volunteering, meditation 🧘♀️
I like your videos. Learned a lot. And you are funny!
Yes, please do a video on HRV tracking and which products you would recommend. Thanks!
I'll def be making this one! It's just a matter of when- I have SOOOO many videos I want to mKe for you guys! 🥰
@@gutmicrobiomequeen hey Dr DiNezza can you please share the grateful app that you talk about in the video :) ?
Your a personal hero of mine, just so you know...takes courage to be all open like that, so tip my hat to ya
Love listening to you and your enthusiasm and great info! Yes I would like more info on tools to measure hrs/vagel tone, etc!
Thank you!
I agree with the TENS unit.. I tried it and it did make me feel worse even on the lowest settings.. It's something that definitely needs more research.. The best thing for the Vagus nerve is Lemon Balm
You're amazing!
Love the video about these lifestyle or things to put you in a good mood and reduce stress. Have you made a video about what minerals and or vitamins run the vagus nerve? I used to pass out every now and again. My doctor just kept telling me it was the vagus nerve causing it. I just did a Google search and found that magnesium and zinc help run the vagus nerve. I just learned recently that there is some link between choline and the vagus nerve. I limit high sulfur foods because of hydrogen sulfide sibo. I just realized that those foods are high in choline so I was choline deficient. And choline helps absorb magnesium and B12. So Id love to hear a deep dive on those things. Copper also helps recycle magnesium and helps create many neurotransmitters too.
You're the best story teller I've watched till date...(i have very chronic burping like 100 at a time) hope you'll suggest something
😂 same. Sometimes I feel like I am gonna choked.
Many thanks...
I was recently diagnosed with gastroparesis.....my Dr wants to put me on medication and told me I couldn't reverse it......I have refused the medication and researching what I can do to reverse this.....Thanks for the video.
You're welcome 🥰 I hope my youtube channel and podcast (the IBS Freedom Podcast) help you get the clarity you need to heal! If you haven't checked out my videos about prokinetics be sure to watch those next 😘
You look gorgeous and a great teacher!
I'm 72 now and suspect i have had SIFO, SIBO or similar from the age of 6 when i was apparently mistakenly given a large overdose if antibiotics. Thats just a little background to the actual question.
At the age of 21 in 1971 I had VAGOTOMY and Pyloroplasty as treatment for duodenal ulcers, that was standard practice at the time I dont think the importance of the Vagus nerve was fuloy understood at the time.
Question Is there any way of stimulating a severed Vagus nerve.
I can appreciate it may be difficult to answer the question as the procedure has largely been discontinued hence the apparent shortage of information.
Absolutely love the work your doing by the way, that will continue irrespective of the answer.
Yes please, more on the vagus nerve. Nike Skye recommends a vn stimulator, like Modius. What are your thoughts please? Love your videos. So good of you. Great if you good speak a wee bit slower. Foggy brain!
Me too please
I would also love to see the vagus nerve and heart rate variability but only if you don't get constipated over it. Take your time breathe deep
Just found your vids, great stuff! Do you have any thoughts/info on hypnosis for IBS? I think I have functional dyspepsia which is harder to find information on... I did read that hypnosis helps for both IBS and FD. I do the things you mentioned in this video as part of my whole life self care practice. I am getting better utilizing EFT tapping. Not sure if you'll see this but wanted to try. Our guts really tell us where we are...
I like your style! But I "love" your information (from my cortex) :) Aloha
Japan will not disappoint. Technically I was born there, but can't really remember that far back. However been back a number of times and can say that Japan is preternaturally beautiful; like, the foliage is extra detailed or high fidelity--astonishing really, and wait till you hear the bamboo clanking into bamboo, mesmerizing
I would like to know more about HRV
Do you have any advice for herbs or teas to help relax the nerve and help ease stress
i have a CES device called Oasis pro, i plug it to my ears, and it created brain waves for relaxation, sleep , concentration. (alpha, delta, theta, beta, 100hz).
delta is good for digestion, i guess it influences the vagal nerve.
it also helps with falling asleep.
100hz is great for stopping obsessive thoughts, and increasing serotonin.
i recommend buying it, tho it cost 350.
I listen to UA-cam Rife frequencies for Vagus nerve healing etc, and they are amazing!!
Call me crazy, but naturally empathetic people tend to have more digestive issues in general. I think it's easy to internalize a lot. I didn't realize this until seeing it in my daughter.
Hey, thanks for the great vids. What test do you recommend to check for SIBO? new to your community
Breath test
You are amazing, thank you so much. New sub. I have histamine from hell mcas and allergies but still happy and trying to find my way. Never defeat or going down. Thank you. Yes yes yes.
"Love"...is the answer.
Thank you for your shout out to acupuncture. I’ve found it immensely helpful in so many ways. I was having some die off symptoms from sibo treatment earlier this week and my acupuncture sesssion made it a lot easier to eat and finish my meals.
What do you think about progressive muscle relaxation?
I would like to find out if Vagus Nerve stimulation is helpful in Histamine intolerance & Inflammatory foods reaction . Are Kidneys function improved to make more DAO ??
This is very informative. I suffer greatly with IBS, Gastroparesis, possibly SIBO, and SI. Need to find a G.I. who will be willing to send me for the necessary tests. I take miralax and drink prune juice daily for the constipation. My depression and anxiety are through the roof, so I'm in counseling. I really like what you said about the gratitude journaling. I am going to start doing that, as well as the happy videos. I am going to check out your other videos as well. Thank you and God bless.
Best of luck, Marie!
How are you now? My digestion was great until I accidentally took a large dose of anti-inflammatories and gave myself reactive gastritis. I was put on very strong PPI'S for about 6-8 weeks. Now my stomach isn't digesting. I have gastric delay and am waiting to see a specialist 😒
The thing with digestive issues is it can fluctuate back and forth, from diarrhea to constipation. Having undergone strong, toxic chemotherapy is what started my own issues. Most times I am not able to absorb fats properly. I notice that meat is easier than veggies to digest and causes way less distress. Intermittent fasting and clean eating has helped, but it takes time to have everything finally swing back into balance again!
Good luck, everybody!
Learn how to slow down your brain waves your enate smart body will help
Talk to your cells in your body. believe it, one day your going to have to believe you are the answer to your so called problems .get out of victim mode .lead by example. that's the only way to change the world 🌍.
What do you know about the Safe and Sound Protocol? It was recommended for my son by his mental health therapist.
If your vagus nerve has been effected by cervical neck instability due to weakened ligaments and disc injuries does that mean the vagus nerve is compresed/irritated - under stimulated?
That's Niki Skye, was Gatrix!
Interesting you talk about Japan. I moved there (here) not quite a year ago and was just thinking again about how to find holistic medicine out here. You don't do long distance house calls, do you? 😅
I do work via Zoom (both privately and in FODMAP Freedom)! The info for how to work with me is at www.fodmapfreedom.com/social 🥰
Ps. Japan 😍😍
Pss. You might also look into finding a Kampo medicine specialist near you!
I have struggled with SIBO on a few occasions over several years. May have it again with a recent stress flair. I do practice yoga and meditation. I just got prescribed breathing exercises.
Can you check out cervical instability on UA-cam from caring medical. They have information on how your neck can effect your Vegas nerve and gut
Ya, but what about thumb sucking? Has anybody tried that after adulthood to combat medical conditions? Im new to the channel, n I wonder there is a video about the thyroid gland, the tonsil, spine etc as important characters in the sibo game, where the spine is like a dinner table, and the "Vagas" nerve is the Maid, the tonsils is the taste tester, and the thyroid gland is the cook, something like that, with the taste buds being the junior cooks, the esophagus being the restaurant, the bacteria being the customers, and the large intestine being the billing counter, HLC being the currency or something. If that's the case, everything makes sense now.
(Long story short, my spine messed up, I lost my balance, couldn't walk for 2 weeks, but then I found my way out, now I'm in the half way journey thingy, trying to unlock my entire nervous system so that my spine works fully like it used to before my hypothyroidism went extremely bad, leading to severe symptoms, including bone weakness, intolerance to cold, indigestion and everything)
Thumb sucking did work for me, I was being instinctive. It helped me grab my entire spine with one finger so easily, and it helps with more saliva production, and somehow induced this great relief and posture correction. I noticed that during my healing process, the acid reflux had a meaningful role, if the acids had excess carbohydrates, somehow I felt bad, and when it had excess fat, I felt good and I'm still trying to figure out if it impacts the thyroid gland or no.
Does the vagus nerve cause excess flatulence of gas? How do you fix that ?
Do you have singular appointments?
Love ❤ be blessed by the divine
I have a hiatal hernia.
I believe it messes with my vagus nerve.
I have it also. Did anyone confirm that it's affecting the vagus nerve ?
You are totally underestimating the power of gargling.
i've you been to Japan yet? Interesting ways to stim the vagus nerve.
I used to get acupuncture 3x a week and did have some benefits but at that time, I couldn’t turn my brain off and so I just laid there feeling incredibly stressed out. It was miserable. Hahaha
Have you self-experimented with a vagus nerve stimulator device?
Does sauna help the vagus nerve?
I want to go with you to Japan
Haha, I was finding great things to be grateful for until you mentioned hair and feet. My hair is thinning, and I need a pedicure. Thx, lol so do you have videos on hair thinning
Honestly though, I am super grateful for this video. This is the third video this morning I've watched since I found you. This is the first hope I've had for a while, ❤
MORE VIDEOS PLEASE ABOUT HE VAGUS NERVE, HOW ABOUT HOW TO INCREASE GHERLIN TO INCREASE A POOR APPETITE :) :) :) THERE IS A LOT OF ISSUES WITH LOSS AND LOW APPETITE THESE DAYS.
Beside gargling Yogis use their thongs to roll it back up to nasal cavity touching or almost touching Alfactory Nervous plexus & in Yogic scriptures it called Kechari Mudra .
It is a part of advanced Hatha Yoga.
Also so called Kriyas, body clinsing techniques like Basti, Kunjar, Neti... Wind purification. ..
Modern medical science just has different than Sanscrit , English or Latin names for it
Thanks for important presentation on Vagus .
💚
Helping people.....? Caregiving for my mother stresses me to the max!
Can the vagus nerve regenerate?
