I fkn love how raycon saw this guy destroying their product with a rock and went yeah, let's send him a couple more
Environmentally responsible of them to send him a slightly faulty product. Surprised he didn't 1-grit the janky one.
But he compared wired earphones to wireless ones, apples to oranges. Also compared it to HD600 initially, apples to oranges again. I know Raycons ain't worth the money, but the comparisons don't make sense. I feel like he is not really reviewing it, he's just hating on it.
p.s. i ain't paying more than $50 for a earphones so i don't care about raycons, but i do like watching reasonable reviews. This did not seem to be one.
I beleive that this was meant to be an adendum to the original Raycon video, where he compares them to other wireless headphones, the same model of which is mentioned near the end of this video
@@sepg5084 Some Dude is correct, this is just a followup vid.
But in addition: Raycon's entire premise is that they deliver a premium sound for less than premium sound amounts of dosh. They're aimed at people that don't want to, or can't, pay for the wireless buds that cost in the hundreds. $20-30 for KZ IEMs, and a $10 dongle if you need one, and they actually deliver on the high end sound for low end cost premise.
@@sepg5084 I think you completely missed the point, he was just saying for $20 even though its wired you can get a pair of headphones that sound better than $90 wireless buds, so if you are in the market for good buds at a much lower price, which seems to be Raycons whole selling point, that they are cheaper than all the coipition, your better off getting a pair of wired buds for $20 for better quality build and sound. idk how you missed that you must be as smart as a box of rocks.
I love how Raycons are like "We hate those brands that cost more because of the name only!", and proceed to charge more for the name only

It’s really bothering me the way you spelled eagle...
That is some top tier american spelling
I love that one of their big marketing points is “half the price of leading brands for the similar audio quality” and then this guy pulls out the $20 earbuds 😂😂
Loads of people don't like the kz ones and prefer the heavy bass of other brands, and see it as higher quality because of it.
@@baronvonlimbourgh1716 Considering the very generous amount of bass on most KZ models I don't see what you're talking about, KZ has an extremely mainstream sound and I've heard very few people outside of the audiophile community criticize it, and they generally think they have *too much* bass (and treble)

Me too 🤣 love the mic tests
The real kicker for me is how they advertise how you’re paying less for the same quality when you’re… you’re not
They should really just advertise as '(attempting to have) as much hype as Beats, but cheaper', which is almost certainly the market they're going for.
Youre paying for them to advertise to you more basically. Any company that sponsors youtubers and other social media people like raycons are more interested in spending most of their budget on advertising than the product itself. Dunno what pisses me off more, that they do this, or that suckers fall for it, or better yet, UA-camrs take their money to push their crap
Yep, it’s unfortunate but the only option for what Raycon advertise “cheaper with same features as premium brands”, there’s only Chinese brands. They are selling on Amazon for much more than what they sell for locally as well, but still a lot cheaper than anything with the same feature list, albeit at worse sound. Raycon is not even close to what those offer.
@@archkull Made in China and Chinese brands are not the same. Airpods are also made in China.
I know Raycon probably just visit Chinese manufacturer, choose a model then rebrand it as their own, yet the Chinese brands still offer superior products to Raycon at lower price. It suggests that Raycon went to China and still choose an inferior product to rebrand.
@@lc9245 I dont think I made my point correctly,
The reason Raycon went to China was to get the cheapest generic thing to rebrand.
Any time a company you've never once heard of, or saw any of their products on shelves before just pops up with a seemingly never ending budget for advertisements telling you how they are very good quality for great prices, you have to wonder where they are cutting corners to be able to spend so much on advertising. They choose inferior on purpose, because they only want cheap to make the most profit from the people they trick through their ad campaigns.
And maybe this is just my personal opinion, but a company that buys the mass produced product of a factory, where any other company can also buy directly from and do the same things, go and put their shitty logo on it, and then sell it to consumers as if they're doing anything involving effort, isnt a real business. Its a scam at worst and a stupid importer at best.
If I'm buying chinese products no matter what I do, I'd rather actually buy it directly from the chinese manufacturers or companies directly, saves me money.
13:24 I will say, though, Taotronics' customer service is top-notch despite that. I reported that the left one wasn't working and, within 2 emails, they sent me a full replacement set free of charge. Yeah, the reliability stuff is annoying, but I am fully willing to deal with that over the issues with the Raycons.
I can vouch for the customer service. My pair of p10's stopped working in the right ear bud. I got a reply in a few hours. Top notch customer service.

My theory is that they do send the good ones to reviewers, but even the good ones suck
They're probably the same models, but no one they send them to are musicians/audiophiles like Dank is. People probably do pop them in and think they "sound good" and are built well because they haven't had as much exposure to as many models as Dank has. Plus getting money helps sweeten the deal.

Dude, you have no idea how much I want a series where someone honestly reviews sponsorship products. You got the Raycons, but I'd love to see someone do stuff like Skillshare, maybe Hello Fresh, etc.
Skillshare is just payed youtube. Better organised and you don't have to wade trough loads of old vids, and vids with production values so low that it is hard to follow.
You can find all that suff on youtube already but skillshare makes kt very easy and you know the vids come from actual profesionals and production values are pretty decent at the least.
And if you are learning something new like editing or something it is certainly worth the couple of bucks to have all the stuff easilly available.
Hello fresh is also actually pretty good for what it is. It just is expensive but everything that is delivery of convenience always is.
I found it a good way to get into cooking that goes beyond heating up some stuff from a can, cooking some pasta and throwing it all together lol.
It's all easy to make for novices, everything you need is in the box and it actually is pretty tasty.
But it is made to fit a certain people with a certain lifestyle, and i'm sure it's the best thing ever for them. For me after a couple of months i just went to the store myself to get what i needed, and still do today. When wireless charging, the raycons start to smell like burnt plastic lol.
Wireless charging in general sucks. It's less efficient, you lose some of your charging as heat, which means it takes longer to charge and it heats the battery up more, which reduces long term battery life. Just the way the manufacturers want it, so your battery dies sooner and you buy a new phone sooner.
All that, and it's not even wireless. There's a wire going from a power supply to the wireless charging base. I can bypass all the disadvantages of this technology by just taking that wire and plugging it into my phone instead of the charging base. And then when I'm done charging, a wire is easier to tuck away and recover the desk space than a charging base is.
@Harrison Gist wireless charging works by electro magnetism, which induces the charge from the charger into the coils of the phone. This, however, as said by mjc0961, is incredibly less effective than normal charging because, unlike cabled charging, it does not connect directly into the circuits, letting a huge amount of energy escape ( whose a part becomes heat )as it tries to penetrate through glass (which also creates heat), and, as you know, heat, specially in small, fragile parts, is not a good thing.
Ps: I'm not an expert in this area, but based on my knowledge from school and college, I think that's how it works.
@@RykerSpeaks I have never had a charging port break because of the charging cables. Maybe the inverse has happened but charging cables are overall still the better method.

I have a similar problem except the only kind that stay in my ears are anything shaped like Airpods. The squishy, round, bud bit types just slide right out of my ears constantly, no matter the size!

The way he flashes a whole paragraph on screen always gets me.
Nothing in this world makes me laugh as hard as “ohhh my pkcell”
Ikr 🤣
How about the AAA battery?
I love the NA-NO
"...so I threw a pug in there, but oh, those are dense mate.'
When I hear someone say "The RayCons has nice bass" I mean.. yeah it has.. bass.
When you got new speaker/headset an you discover new sounds in your tracks.
I was under the impression that “pay less for good sound” was under 100 dollars.
Yeah. That should be Grado's moto.
@@EddieOtool arguably
Got some random xiamoi buds for convinience. His descriptions sound exactly like my buds. That cost 30 dollars.
I use a pair of earphones that i bought for 50 egp (2.5 freedom coins) and they sound ok
@@trashman1605 what is your point of reference though? as in best pair of headphones you ever heard?
the mic testing stories are genuinely a big part of why i watch these reviews
I've spent 2 years travelling Australia and after listening to those stories I'm once again not fully convinced that Australia isn't a completely made up place
@@kaih7647 its no wonder people like flat earthers think it doesn't exist
I actually had trouble understanding what he said there as English is not my main language. But I love how austrailian english sounds like
@@ohlookachime the trick to understand aussie English it's to just shut your brain and let the words come and go, and hopefully, you understand half of what they say
the way he goes on a huge monologue only to end with "I'm in jail." makes me laugh so hard
mine actually heat up while charging wirelessly and one of them is so quiet i have to put my sound up all the way to hear the right bud…
"Listen for the bongo man"
I did with my AKG-702 and wow, there is a bongo man! He's rather quiet but he definitely is there.
Congrats, you are now known as "Australian Headphone Man" all over the UA-cam now. (check the comments of the songs you shown)
feels like highschool vibes lmao
Sat here with my TRUSTY KZ’S and pointed at the screen saying: “LOOK IT’S UNCLE DANK!”
same i got the es4s only because he said they were so good
@@realsillycat yeah some reason the ones I got were red and blue?? I asked for black but idk I actually turned out to like the dual colors.
Sameee. I have my lovely pair of ZSN Pro X's and when he put the box on screen I pointed at my screen too!
@@ImsChanatip nice, how long have you had them? Is the wire holding up?
@@sumoddball
But his currency had kangaroos on it! My currency only has U.S Presidents.
Raycon is about to assassinate this mans.
I have noticed that with most headphones and earbuds where they squish all sound into one. I recently got the AirPods Pro 2 and i could hear beats and notes i have never heard even after many years of listening to that same song
How funny that UA-cam would recommend this just after my in ear headphones broke. Considered Raycon for a bit but got me a pair of KZs now. Thank you heaps.
Which KZ pair did you get?
@@wccrispy probably the pros because he said he saw this video and bought the kz's and even then the kz's pro are less than 20 dollars and are better than the ogs
Wait so you didn’t want wireless??
Ehh I mean wireless is good and all but wired is still good lile a good example are the kz's themselves their wired but they have quality and they cheap af
@@xxobcodelolxxgaming5335 yeah ik if sound quality for the money is all one cares about then wired earphones are obviously going to be the better option, but a lot of people pay extra for wireless just for the convenience and portability aspect. Comparing wireless to wired earphones of the same price sound quality wise is unfair and is like comparing a laptop with a PC of the same price in terms of performance
Raycon: you wanna try our new earphones?
Dankpods: so you’ve chosen death
Also i cant unhear bongo man
Raycon: well fuck this. *BLOWS THEIR ENTIRE HQ*
I don't need headphones I just like watching people talking about audio equipment
DankPods is like the Gordon Ramsey of Audio in general.
Honestly 100% I respect RayCon for reaching out and just asking for an honest review. That’s shows 1. Confidence in their product (even if it’s unfounded at points, it shows that they want their product to be publicly either praised or criticized, leaving room for improvement) and 2. Willingness to improve
This actually shows the difference to me between something like RAID: Shadow Legends. RayCon is showing they want to improve and make good on their promise of good sound for great value. Idk I just don’t see RAID running around telling game reviewers to please review their game, not expecting anything.
Raycon is smart enough to know that all advertising is good advertising and by watching an honest bad review, which pretty much means there’s no chance they say “this product is shit and fuck everybody associated with it,” in 6 months when you’ve completely forgotten you ever watched this video, you’ll need earbuds and you’ll think of Raycons because they’re advertised by youtubers pretending to personally endorse them everywhere and you’ll think you saw someone who knew what they were talking about say some good things about it at some point. This is just free advertising for them, even if it is negative.
so the marketing worked
Honestly 100% can't understand why there are fake people like you. Raycon is 100% dishonest and instead of spending money on product they spend it on ethnic endorsements. Wouldn't doubt for a second if you and your baseless upvotes were compensated.
@@suserman7775 wow ain't you a rude twit
I mean, RayCon is, for one, a legit company with no shady business (or at least not as shady). I think reaching out was if anything a tactic to reduce the blow, his original video got millions of views, and although it wasn’t the first critical video it was definitely more straight forward than others, some reviewers essentially sugarcoated their criticism while this guy deservedly trashed their product.
As for the improvement part, i think they’ll improve as much as the industry lets them, as far as I’m concerned, they’re a private labeling company, which means they don’t actually make the product and instead only slap a logo on them.
