musicfog.com Tommy Emmanuel makes it look so easy with "Sanitarium Shuffle" from the Music Fog sessions in Nashville. Recorded during the 2010 Americana Music Festival & Conference.
Not only is his playing abilities awesome to watch, but he is also a delight to watch play. He truly enjoys what he does. He makes this world seem a whole brighter. Thanks Tommy.
I was here for something completely different, and then I came across Tommy E. Here's to watching in 2020! Love that contagious smile and personality by the master performer.
Tommy you are my favorite acoustic guitarist,my favorite electric is Jeff Beck.I've had a couple of heart attacks with stents and 2 small strokes but I still try to play as much as I can because it makes me feel peaceful! I would give anything to play with either one of these guys on top of my music.
Wow! I've been watching videos of this song for years, as it's my favorite song of his, but this is the first time I've seen this one. It's my new favorite video of my favorite song of my favorite musician now. Thanks for sharing
Not scary. I can play 5 tommy songs. The only reason people get scared is because of the practice time required. Practice, and learning muscle memory is key to playing tommy songs.
@@john-ob7bv Ummm, well duh. That's like saying, I play basketball at my local YMCA and not being afraid of playing LeBron James....all you gotta do is spend a lot of time practicing. Not quite the best analogy.
Look at how he does like playng, it is incredible, since he plays this tune by years... He is really amazed playng his own tunes, and this is the key to amaze public
There's a video of Tommy doing a sound check at some festival. Eric Clapton was standing at the edge of the stage with a look of total respect and awe for what Tommy was doing. Technically he is as good as the best classical guitar players in the world and more creative than most of them. His version of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" is a work of celestial majesty.
Couldn't agree more tangobayus about " Somewhere Over The Rainbow ", especially on the " Live At The Ryman " album, no one comes close to playing it like Tommy does.
I don’t think Tommy even thinks about what chords to play or anything. He just wills the guitar to make certain sounds and his hands just say, “okay.” Amazing arrangement!
I wish i didn't know, anyhow who are we to judge a man we don't know personally? Unfortunately many graet artists may not be so great at other parts of life. anyhow i love Tommy's music and presence on stage.!!!
Yes, everyone has their own problems....... Get real dude, you can only get this good by making that kind of sacrifice... In order to gain something, you gotta give something up... To get anything in this world, you give up something, regardless of the price. That's how life has always worked... Every man has a price he's willing to pay...
@Bringmehomesally I meant the comment about counting himself to be a joke. Obviously this man is a master of his instrument, and this is a beautiful piece of playing. I meant the comment about throwing my guitars in a chipper to show how impressed I am by his playing. I didn't do a good job of conveying what I meant, apparently. If I offended anyone by my comments, I apologize.
@guitarvocs Do you really think that he needs to count himself in?! Heck no man! It's the legendary TE! I bet he was just counting off just for the folks that we around him to give them the idea of the tempo. Go ahead a throw your guitar in a chipper and do us a favor. Look how this man plays, and how much he loves it. If you get turned off by someone counting in as MANY musicans do, than what are you? Better off, dont throw your guitar in a chipper and try counting yourself in from time to time
Just curious.. Did musicfog.com. come as a result of , "the day fingerpickers took over the world" ? I remember the lyrics, " It was overcast, you could barely see! "
No, actually the name Music Fog was drawn from the similarity of "falling down a rabbit hole." You watch one of our videos, then another, then another, then an hour goes by.....you're in a Music Fog!
Not only is his playing abilities awesome to watch, but he is also a delight to watch play. He truly enjoys what he does. He makes this world seem a whole brighter. Thanks Tommy.
I love that grin at the end. It's almost like telling everyone: "Beat that!"
I was here for something completely different, and then I came across Tommy E. Here's to watching in 2020! Love that contagious smile and personality by the master performer.
Just so much talent. How many hours, days, months of years of dedication to his art! Wow!
That's a good name for that composition because it sent me straight to the nervous hospital! Serious talent...simply fantastic!

blessed for being alive at the same time as he is couldn't have said it better myself
One of the greatest guitarists. Him and Django!
no doubt that beautiful shirt was made for Tommy by an adoring fan. Looks great on him. What a nice symbol of their appreciation for his playing.
When you see something beautiful God has made, you should notice it and thank Him. Thanks Lord for the gift you gave this man.
holy-moly... I had a dream the other night I was playing a guitar like Tommy Emmanuel... My fingers ached all day long after that...
That's poetry..Brilliant comment.
simply as good as it gets......the solo acoustic act to unseen realms !
Wow! I've been watching videos of this song for years, as it's my favorite song of his, but this is the first time I've seen this one. It's my new favorite video of my favorite song of my favorite musician now. Thanks for sharing
You can tell that’s one of his favourite guitars. He’s worn it in to a perfect fit. They’ve obviously played together a lot.
never ceases to amaze me what can be done on a guitar . 6 strings and 7 notes
yep, just the 7 notes!
Definitely a guitar hero! Tommy ---- amazing!!!!
ive seen him live, what an experience. :)
Been playing 58 years, that was the hottest lick I’ve ever heard
THE BEST,period.
Unreal. That's some of the best pickin' I ever heard.
Has the "Gift" and worked his butt off to refine it. He is amazing!
you dont have to be a guitar player to see that this is awesome, but if you`re guitar player you`ll realize that this is scary
YUP I almost sold all 3 of my beauties bc of this video ... keep on rockin

Truly TE was born to play guitar ...He mind is wired for it and he uses that developed skill... Great player and great showman
Just great to see and hear him playing
I don’t think Tommy even thinks about what chords to play or anything. He just wills the guitar to make certain sounds and his hands just say, “okay.” Amazing arrangement!
Just wanted to come back and say thanks for sharing free tabs.

A BIG THANK YOU MR TOMMY EMMANUEL
This man is amazing.
Soooooo inspiring❤
It's called practice, drive, dedication.
Impresionante TE, ROCK ON!!
Masterclass!
If those strings are 13's it's no wonder he can "bend steel in his bare hands". He can also "change the course of mighty rivers"...or so I've heard.
...and move a mountain with a pinkie... so I´ve heard...
just WOW!
woooah man crazy af !
The mic is an AKG C3000
gotta love those ii-V's.....well the are tritone subs, but still ii-V's and sounds neat
1 dislike, probably has sore fingers and a bad sense of rhythm. Tommy rocks.
crosshairstare he plays over 300 gigs a year
Guys!
His guitar is old and ugly. Inacceptable for those who prefer watching unboxing-vids.
As everyone knows: new things are ALWAYS better!
He looks like he is having serious fun.
not a beast- THE BEAST
Pure fun!
He's always smiling.
ай, молодца!!! гитарист классный!!!🎶🙋 Спасибо!!!🎸🎶🙋

Привет из Улан-Удэ Россия 🎸 Байкал рядом с нами, приезжай в гости!!!!!!

CAUTION: WATCHING THIS COULD MAKE U INVOLUNTARILY SMASH UR GUITAR INTO A MILLION PIECES!!
It might sound "wrong" to u.. But its not... He uses that exact notes in many songs, its just a technique of his

Probably flamenco, but beside that he can play ANYTHING!!
Just curious.. Did musicfog.com. come as a result of , "the day fingerpickers took over the world" ? I remember the lyrics, " It was overcast, you could barely see! "
No, actually the name Music Fog was drawn from the similarity of "falling down a rabbit hole." You watch one of our videos, then another, then another, then an hour goes by.....you're in a Music Fog!
oh, and guitar tapping like erik mongrain for example :)
1:52 wow that sounds evil and fucking awesome o.o
lyrics start at 0:42 "Da dadaaa da da daaaa da da da da.... Ba Baaa baaa da da da dA DA DA DAAAAH !"
My guitar does not do this at all wtf
Has anyone notice the last chord is?
Anyone tell me what kinda guitar he's rocking out on?🎵
It is a Maton
Mike B The GOOD kind. lol.
Come on Tommy admit it, you made a Faustian bargain at the crossroads.
bluto212 You’re right, the devil sold his soul to Tommy to be able to play like him.
More like "Insanitarium Shuffle"!
Came for Metallica, stayed for Tommy Emmanuel
Please what’s the brand of guitar he’s using?
Samuel Asmah he plays Maton guitars ( Australian guitar makers). But I guess he could play anything!
He using a Maton EBG 808 but you probably know that by now🙂
He had the right shirt on for that twangy guitar song lol
you could write a book about that lol
1:52 all those beautiful wrong notes
This is what happens to a guy when Beale St. Drives on ;)
