Tipcal Canadian, let’s use the cheapest crap available. Why not just spend a little more time and money and do it the right way. I take the panels of and take it to my local body shop and he paints the whole body for $300. And the look brand new.

It would have cost $1000 just to get the panels cleaned up for paint at a shop.
This was the budget golf cart build.
Besides, we only get a few months a year that we can even use these things

I have a mobile golf cart cleaning service here in central FL which I basically go to the seniors property an clean it up for them.
I get a lot of questions asking who can paint this section or who can paint this rear, I see a need for that so my questions are
    1. Can I do this outside the same way I clean them, or do I need a shed?
    2. Where can I learn this
    3. What’s the prices of products you use, also with older carts, how do I know which type of green or white paint to buy?

You could get a decent job doing it outside as long as it's not windy and not a lot of dust in the air
Im not sure on the color match for Factory cart paint. I'm sure someone has a paint code for it
As long as you, and your customer knows it won't ever look factory perfect.
You'll need to paint the whole panel as well. The factory panels will fade over time so a perfect match is almost impossible

True. But it looked great from 10 feet away. It was my favorite golf cart I've had so far

Man we just painted my dads cart and it looked great after the first coat then after the second coat it started bubbling in places. The humidity was around 50 percent, would that cause it? We have put so much time in bondoing in the cracks and what not and it looked BEAUTIFUL Sunday but after yesterday’s layer its bubbling in certain areas. Were using candy red. Thanns

Only option is to strip it and go again.

Hi Gears and Tech, just curious, what grit sandpaper did you use to remove the clear coat before painting? Thanks.

    Why no primer?

Wasn't needed. The body had 3 different layers of paint on it already.
