She must have been an amazing mom, she does so much for us. Imagine what she did for her children growing up. Such a lovely soul she has. She reminds me of my mom when she was alive. Watching Maangchi gives me comfort, I'm in my early 20's but I still miss my mom so much. Love the videos, keep them coming! :)
I love that Maangchi took this a step further by bringing along some fans, as well as taking the time to stop and explain what to look for when buying ingredients and how they’re important to Korean cuisine. I’ve been following Maangchi since the early days and she always puts in 100% effort. Her shining spirit never seems to waiver and can be found in every video, short, and blog post. My grandfather used to eat raw potatoes with salt. I hope a Korean sweet potato is much better raw than a Yukon lol.
I've been watching Maangchi since I started watching UA-cam 😁 She is practical, creative and fun! She also explains things so very well and takes a lot of the mystery out of Korean cooking. Her personality is so vibrant🌞 I think she is my Korean Big Sister 😸 🙏Thank you Maangchi!!!
I love grocery stores too, in general. But going to ones from different cultures is always more fun, because you get to see all new products. It's like a treasure hunt. Thanks for these videos, it'll help my pantry. Of course I watched 2-4 first 🙄 lol

Maangchi I am so excited with u to see with your Korean store I am so enjoying my first time in I see your video my mom also see your video she likes your video I love Korean guys people
To the girl who loves hot and spicy, I guessed red pepper flakes too (oops). I am making kimchi today. Yesterday I bought 60 lbs. of some of the most beautiful Napa Cabbage. If Maangchi looked in my refrigerator right now her heart would beat so fast I'd have to call a doctor. I think that is an excellent supermarket! It's so big, bright and clean. I can't wait for part 2. Thank you Maangchi. Especially for the part about short grain rice. I've been using long grain all this time. Now it's time to chop cabbages!
Waterlilly 1 She is just as super cool and fun in person! It was a really fun day..we all ate lunch with Maangchi at the end of the day at the store. Best day ever! ❤️🥘🍚🍲
You're so sweet and kind to take your readers and viewers for food adventures! I love how you really are here for all of us with your recipes, advice and delicious food community :) Thank you dear Maangchi
I've been wondering "who are the people that are hitting the dislike button in maangchi's videos" like who doesn't love maangchi?...they must be living on some hate planet.
wowww you are the best!! i was so confused when i went shopping for the ingredients for my first kimchi :D i found everything but it took me over an hour! :D so thankful for your videos
Can't wait for part 2. Thank you for teaching us some of the various names for the produce and the difference between similar items. Within driving distance we have 3 major Asian supermarkets (Korean, Japanese, and Vietnamese based) plus lots of smaller store options. Knowing some basics before you go is so nice!
안녕 하세요! I am a filipina living here in Korea. I am your avid fan long time ago while I am still in the Philippines. I studied some of your recipes so that when I came here in Korea I can cook for my korean husband. I had the passion also for cooking. I am your new subscribe. A new youtuber here. I got my inspiration from you. Keep sharing more cooking videos. 😉
Maangchi oh my goodness I love you sooooooo much!! I just started to follow you. I’m totally obsessed with kimchi. I spend so much money on buying it prepared but I love all your kimchi recipes. Thank you for coming into my life. I can’t wait to make kimchi like you taught me. 🙏🏻❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
My moms best friend is half korean and when I was 13 she gave me kimchi that her friend made and it started a whole new life for me. Her friend was very impressed when she met me and took me to an Asian grocery store and helped me pick out good staple ingredients to use. This helps more too to learn more about my favorite cuisine ❤
Thank you for taking the time to film this! It is very helpful! I know how to read Korean but sometimes I don't know what it means so in the store I can feel confused. Love you Maangchi! 😍
I just bought Chamoe at my Korean grocery store yesterday! I had no idea what it was but I was curious to try it. When I saw you holding it in the thumbnail I was like 😃. Thank you for the info 💗
Love that you are doing more diverse video content! I would like to see you also do videos about Korea traditions, culture topics, but outside of the kitchen like this video. You are an engaging host.
I lived in Seoul 40 years ago and didn't appreciate Korean food. It was the garlic. My mother does not like garlic so we never used it. Over the years I fell in love with garlic and now I love Korean food. I found your channel and tried making Kimchi. I was hooked. Thank you.
My Korean store has the nicest owner and is always very helpful. Sometimes I just hang out and talk with her about food and I even introduced her to Maangchi! This was also very helpful. Thank you for all your great videos Maangchi!
Thank you for this! We can't wait for part two. This month we are using your videos to make a bunch of Korean food. I would love to see a foraging video!
Yay! yay! yay! Finally my wish came true, Maangchi is making videos about shopping at the Korean grocery store 101. Love love love , thank you Maangchi:)
Hello maangchi! Its 12:30 on monday morning in Australia and im so excited to watch your video before i go to sleep. Hopefully I'll dream about delicious Korean food now! Much love to you
안녕하세요 저는 태국 사람이에요. I always watching you and I follow your recipe, I cooked for my friends and family . I love spicy food especially Korean and Thai food. I have subscribe your UA-cam more than 3 year. you are my inspiration of cooking and now I study Korean because I want to read cooking article in Korean, learning culture and language. Thank you so much and I will always watching you.
You are an amazing lady!!!❤️ This video is so amazing......I have learned so much. I wish I had 100 more years to live just to learn more about Korean cooking. Thank you so much for sharing your precious time and knowledge of Korean cooking. It is priceless and I appreciate it so much. ❤️ from Texas!!!
Raw sweet potato is really yummy in salads! I once made a raw sweet potato and golden beet salad that was delicious! It was equal parts beet and sweet potato(I grated them cause I don't have a vegetable spiralizer) with thin sliced green onions or chives and toasted pumpkin seeds(no shell) then dressed with lots of fresh lime juice and a garlic lime vinaigrette dressing I found at the store.
I wish we had a Korean grocery store here in Mobile. We only have an Asian grocery store which is small but great. They have a good selection of ingredients from Korea, Japan, China, Vietnam, and the Philippines. But I was happy to find out that H Mart ships so I ordered a few things from them last month. :D

Ebony Arnold I'm from Mobile too! Luckily there's an influx of Asian ingredients coming down here, but I see what you mean. Hopefully throughout the years we might actually get a grocery.
Oh Maangchi! This is more useful then I expected. Next time I visit the Korean grocery store I'll watch this series again. Thanks! I hope you'll do a leafy herbs episode someday, there are so so many in the cooling section in the store here, and no clue how to use them.
I love this video, especially you bringing some of your readers along to show around the store! Can't wait to find a Korean grocery store and try new food!

I recognize most of the labels from food shopping in Korea. I never managed to find enough time to learn to read Hangul, but I remember the look of the writing on the packaging.
This is so good, love this ❤️
오늘 첨 봤는데 참 대단하신 분이네요. 한국을 빛낸 당신에게 감사드립니다.

They have a good selection of ingredients from Korea, Japan, China, Vietnam, and the Philippines. But I was happy to find out that H Mart ships so I ordered a few things from them last month. :D
Ebony Arnold you can order ingredients online! Amazon sells all kinds of stuff, not sure about fresh produce but if you can get your hands on some planters and seeds you can grow a lot of veggies! I grow my store bought green onions that are now pretty thick at the base.
