The black elastic bands are everything! I bought a pack of those just for the purpose of styling and cuffing. And I made sure I have a couple inside my everyday bag or pouch for back up or just in case you'll need it. 🔥🔥🔥
Yes. There is so many ways to wear existing clothes. I like to pin roll my denim pants or give it one up turn when wearing low cut socks with sneakers to show ankle. The look pairs well with rolled up t-shirt sleeves and shirt hem tucked in.
That saftey pin hack for the back of the leg is going to allow me to wear some wide leg jeans that have been sitting in my closet for months. Thanks mate!
For cropped basic tees i highly recommend the Hollister boxy crop tee. Under 20 quid each, Large fits me perfectly at 6ft3 sitting right below the waist line and are really soft with a brushed feel 👍
I'm going to try the safety pin for a pair of jeans I bought. A friend and I each bought a pair on a trip but while they are ok with shoes, when I get home they are under my heels when I take them off. I didn't pay much for the jeans so I could toss them, but they have some sentimental value but not enough value to spend another $20 to get them hemmed.
I find the invisible cuff is sometimes even better than pants already tailored to the correct length because it adds some weight to the bottom of the pants for drape
6:45 Speaking of Baggy Jeans, I bought a pair of Weekday Astro Baggy Loose Jeans in Europe but they seem too big on me even though my size is 32 x 32. What do you recommend I do for this?
The tip on cropping tops with 2 hair-bands is game-changer for me. I just tried it on my oversized tshirts and i love how the weight of the bands make the tshirt stay close to my body and feels much better fitted. Before the tshirt would just float on me. Such a nice hack thanks!
Massive food for thought. Often I'll have pieces I've judged on their immediate impression, rather than hacking them for different looks, seasons and changing styles, and there's a fair bit here which are not only really effective for me in principal, but they look fabulous after. Did you pick these up from elsewhere, from trying stuff out yourself or bit of both? Something else I've been thinking about regarding your personal; preferences and shopping in the Women's section; I think it was John Lewis who said they would be combining their kids sections because a pair of jeans or a tee in that regard worked across both genders. Do you think such a thing could apply with clothes .. ie all the items being unisex and leaning into the different cuts and options available? Or does this exist anyway with some retailers? Genuinely curious :) Thanks again for an ace vid!
Sometimes I’ve purchased things too big for me because I like the look of them (I don’t do this much anymore). Or sometimes ordered something vintage and it turned out to be a lot bigger than expected (the denim shirt for example). And for whatever reason I haven’t got around to tailoring them, but I find these hacks work very well in the interim! And yes I definitely think unisex clothing is on the horizon, some brands are already doing it which makes a lot of sense! Thanks for watching
James many of these are poor hacks. When cinching the back with a safety pins, as soon as you do any movements, stretching, hugging someone etc the pin will come out. Reducing the pants waist makes the crotch area look terrible. The hair bands hack? Just buy clothes that actually fits you.
He mentions a lot of that in the beginning and throughout the video. Maybe more emphasis on the safety pin stuff? I’ve tried the safety pin hack for my ankles and they came apart and stabbed the back of my ankles when I was just walking around
I've done the safety pin hack for like 7 months now but I stopped because I finally found better pants. Anyways my point is it never came undone so maybe you guys need to get sturdier safety pins because I've had some that are really flimsy and others are real good and hard to bend.
late reply but these hacks are obviously are for when you need a last minute alteration because you don't have time or money to get it tailored. James is constantly harping on about how fit is king.
Honestly...most of the items i buy, they are the right sizes but i alway do some little tweaks to get them right.Example,if the jeans is 100% cotton and slightly a bit long or big in the waist,i soakes it in warm water to give it a slight shrink.I do the same thing with 100% polos. These tips are necessary for items that are your size but SLIGHT big.....Not toooo big.Anything above that....visit a tailor.
I don't think the hairband thing works, it really doesn't look right to me. You mentioned that tucking can look odd but I think that will look so much better.
James my favorite is sholace as a belt and when wearing dunks I slide the tongue up all the way from the inside and stop at the height of the unkle. This makes sure it looks like a nice keds and the toung is in place. Also using a fjalraven backpack as a sidebag or a portfolio adds ten points to a simple normie outfit. For perfume hacks, buy those rollon tiny versions of your favorite so you can refresh up the fragrance after a few hours. For nice hair, use redken treatment cream after showering, looks like cum but if you mess with it until its dry, your hair will be so soft and allow any style you want and it smells nice too.
Its like a 5 minutes crafts video. 🤦♂ I mean if you need a quick fix for an evening its fine, but for the long term wear its an exessive everyday fuss with hairbands etc. just go to a tailor.
Hi, thanks for the tips ! I love your denim jacket, where does it come from ? 5:00

That saftey pin hack for the back of the leg is going to allow me to wear some wide leg jeans that have been sitting in my closet for months. Thanks mate!
Ah, thank you, James! You dont know how helpful these are to me. Especially the tee cropping with rubber band one❤
You’re welcome! I use that one all the time!
For cropped basic tees i highly recommend the Hollister boxy crop tee. Under 20 quid each, Large fits me perfectly at 6ft3 sitting right below the waist line and are really soft with a brushed feel 👍
Thank you sir
I’ve heard good things about them, thanks!
Do the hairbands around the arms affect blood circulation?
great video as usual!
Thank you 🙏
I have done the 'aesthetic v' for a long while I never really thought about it but always felt it looked better
You’re naturally stylish haha!
What jeans were those at 7:30??

Very good and helpfull video mate 👍
Glad you liked it mate!

Very good point!
Another great video James, have a good day. ✌️
Thanks man 🙏
Great hacks
Great tip. I'll definitely do this with my oversized lakers swingmans:)
Hi, what sweater do you wear?
Never thought I'd be in the market for hair ties but here I am
🤣
I was not aware of that reverse cuffing hack. Thank you.
It’s super useful! Thanks for watching
Thanks for the tips
🙏
Harry has and you dropping at the same time
Always haha
6:45 Speaking of Baggy Jeans, I bought a pair of Weekday Astro Baggy Loose Jeans in Europe but they seem too big on me even though my size is 32 x 32. What do you recommend I do for this?
I usually wear 29 and I had to size down to a 27 and they’re still a bit big on me, so annoying!
For the over the shoulder sweater look, just fold the top of the sweater over and wear that part against your back: easy!!!
Sounds much easier haha thanks

where is your western belt from? amazing tips by the way! ◡̈
hairbands is a nice trick thanks for that one!
Thanks for watching!

I’m off to the shops to buy myself some hair bands. Thank you for the advice 👍
Awesome, let me know how you get on!
if thats a stained sweatshirt, mine is a church window
I have (unfortunately) a detroit jacket that is too long, is there any trick to wear it better?
It will be tricky with a Detroit because the material is so stiff. Might be best to sell and buy a smaller one!
@@JamesLeung indeed. Thank you for your advice!

Gosh I feel mortified, it said I wasn’t subscribed and I’ve been watching you for over a year!! I must’ve accidentally unsubscribed at some point
This is so interesting that I like it
Thank you!

Aaahh! Rubber bands! thats what i was missing this whole time *facepalm*

honestly just get it tailored
8:07 For pants that are loose on the waist, as a slim guy, I wear shorts inside and a belt. A bit uncomfortable but gives me a perfect fit.
That’s such a good tip, thanks!
life’s a drag but yer jeans don’t need to
I see the trend. Harry drops a video and then you drop a video or you drop a video and then Harry drops a video. What’s going on here lol
Its like a 5 minutes crafts video. 🤦♂ I mean if you need a quick fix for an evening its fine, but for the long term wear its an exessive everyday fuss with hairbands etc. just go to a tailor.
Short lenght trousers arent professional... as in the last brown pants
Camera is too near you man .
cuffs too high lol
