    Loved your video! I was told not to go back and forth with brush when
    applying glue mixture. This weakens the fibers in the napkin. Go one direction only. Thank you
    for sharing. You have a
    pleasant voice & easy to
    listen to. 😊

    Karen, this is the first time I found your channel and I’m so thrilled with this tutorial! I am obsessed with making faux rice paper but I also don’t make everything vintage nor do I make junk journals. My focus is on cards, as well. Your tips and suggestions are wonderful and your instructions are very clear. I can’t wait to experiment with making cards with my stash of faux rice paper! THANK YOU SO MUCH! 😊🐾🌵

      I have read recently that some people discourage using coffee because it is acidic. Have you had any issues with yellowing or disintegrating papers?

    You can make the marks on your paper for the A2 then just scrunch the edges to fit as the final stage. Then you will have those organic edges for your card front. Really great ideas!

    For embossing, try using a silicon mat so it doesn't stick.

    Have you tried gel food coloring instead of dye re-inker? I've heard that it works and it's so much cheaper. Can be found at Hobby Lobby in the cake decorating aisle. I think it was approx $3.

    Do you pull the print off of the freezer paper or do you cut the print around while it's on the freezer paper?

    This is a very awesome technique! I can't wait to give this a try. My mind is reeling with ideas. Do you think Mod Podge would work in place of the glue? TFS

    • @KarenHasheck
      @KarenHasheck  2 роки тому

      I am not sure- but all the videos I watched where people were using this to make journals and other mixed media projects used white glue, not modge podge so I think not? White glue is so inexpensive- but you could give it a try. The beauty of it is the transparent translucent results.

    Hi again Karen. I've been having trouble getting the glitter flaking off after it is dry. I thought about using a spray adhesive after applying the glitter to the glued or mod podged napkin. Do you have another solution? Thank you.

    • @KarenHasheck
      @KarenHasheck  9 місяців тому

      Sorry I don't have any more ideas but you could definitely try the spray adhesive. Also I haven't tried the food coloring but I see no reason why it wouldn't work. I have lots of reinkers....

    • @jazz901
      @jazz901 9 місяців тому

      For now, I'm just not going to use any more glitter. It has creeped into all crooks and corners in my house. Ug. I did buy gel food coloring because I read that works and it's a lot less money than re-inkers. Haven't tried it yet but I will soon. I had a question on one of your cards, but don't have time to review right now. Will get back to you on questions. As I recall, it was a blue card. @@KarenHasheck

    What about adding iridescent mica powder?

    • @KarenHasheck
      @KarenHasheck  10 місяців тому

      Give it a try Joan! I didn't and it may disappear in the mixture, so I used crushed glass glitter (and other things) that were chunkier.

    After watching several videos on this from diff artists, i decided to try this … really mixed results so far. Corn starch glue? Nope. Mod Podge? Ok. Parchment paper? Not great!! Can’t separate the dried parts. Plastic bags as a base? Ok so far. Liquid watercolor to color the glue? Seems ok. All trial and error 😎
