Thanks for the sweet review, I will probably buy one of these from pccasegear here in Australia, for gaming and video editing purposes. Can't wait to buy this! :D
I see the PhysX box in GPU-Z is not ticked on the GE70. What about that? Doesn't the laptop come with NVIDIA PhysX installed? Or is PhysX set to CPU in NVIDIA Control Panel?
I really like your reviews and I've watched quite a few of them over the past couple of days, since I am looking to buy a new laptop. Could you however please take screenshots of the benchmarks and edit them into the video, since the camera can be shaky and unfocused, which makes it hard to read. Thanks and keep up the good work :)
How much of a difference between the GE series and the GT series is there exactly? I just ordered my GE70 apache pro-012 and the stats are fairly impressive. I intend to use it heavily for gaming. Should I have gone with a GT series or will the GE70 get the job done?
on your link i was checking the optical drive and some of them when i added them it made the cost -8000 dollars is it supposed to do that im pretty sure it isnt but if it does i will be all over your laptop bit too expensive for me at the moment are there any cheaper ones that you would reccommend for about 500-700 bucks?
Hi, I wanna know, if is it possible, how this laptop behaves when is stressed, like when I play game, heavy programs launched and so on....Could it become really hot? Thank You.
hey I just purchased the ge70 a couple days ago. so far so good. im installing crysis 3 as we speak. I do have a question....when should I use the cooling boost?
Crysis 3 is a powerful game that needs good power i recomend you use all the time when playing these games that require good power turn on the fan boost it will help you a lot
This may seem like an odd question but is there a way to remove the dragon badge on the front. This laptop will be used for both college and some gaming but i dont want to advertise it to my parents as a gaming laptop. lets just say they dont approve of my gaming habits, but are completely fine with me being a computer engineer.
its all good, i got this laptop and just covered the dragon logo with a decal. since im going to NC State i figured an appropriate name for it is the apackche
damn, I'm in the same boat as you....I'm going to college in the fall and I'm trying to find a laptop that doesn't look like a gaming computer, since my parents don't approve of my gaming either. This completely rules out the Asus G750, though I'm looking at several MSI laptops right now..........btw do you like your MSI
It perfroms very nice. it has taken almost everything i throw at it, though i play world of tanks mostly and that game is so poorly optimized. Other games like battlefield 3 and crysis 3 (typical benchmark games) perform better than my desktop.
Does a good cooling pad help with the heating problem? Are the fans silent in everyday use? I am undecided between buying a MSI GE60 Apache pro and a Lenovo Y50 and i can't really decide cause bought have the same specs but advantages and disadvantages. Can anyone help?
i just bought the Ge70 one week ago and upgraded it to 16gb ram and 7200 rpm hdd This laptop is amazing the screen , keyboard and performance are perfect . Though i dont like that it heats a lot idk if its normal for this kind of laptop ... Every game i play it gets heated on the top left .For example i played Unturned (which is not a game that requires big specs )with my friend who has a normal i3 laptop 4 ram (pretty slow) and his laptop was not even close to warm ,and mine was already heating 60c 70c 80c ;/ ... Though if i know that its not a problem for the laptop i dont mind the heat.
Okay ,after using this laptop for over a year i can easily say that it was worth every cent, though i got rid of the HDD cuz it broke twice and replaced it with and SSD ,and I'm never going back to using this slow ass HDDs .So yeah this laptop turned out to be a great deal and I'm glad that i didn't wasted my money!
A single Gt 850m? Or GTX 850m? Because a single GT 850m is not good enough to play battlefield 4 on HIGH, maybe medium but at like under 60 FPS. I have 2 gaming desktops and 1 gaming laptop, the MSI GX70, and that's what I would recommend because it has the best ppp (price per performance) ratio compared to other laptops. It's about 1.3k USD and runs Battlefield 4 on ultra at about 40 FPS, so high is what I will run it at, but still, it's what I would recommend. GT 850m just won't cut it. Those are just for media, not gaming
Robotic Pineapple Hi, if you haven't purchased your laptop yet then I would recommend buying the new Lenovo Y50 instead. It has a single GTX 860M, which provides equal or better performance than 2x 755m and produces less heat. The Y510P is somewhat notorious for its overheating issues, but the Y50 should get rid of these problems while keeping performance.
Not sure if doing so voids the warranty but yes it is possible. It comes with 12gb (1x8gb and 1x4gb) so you can replace the 4gb one with another 8gb to get a total of 16gb. 16gb is max though.
Hello, did you buy the laptop yet. Im looking forward to buy ge70, but some reviews said that this ge70 are often overheating while playing game. Is that true?
Muhammad Arif Asyraf Make sure you give it good ventilation. Play games on surfaces such as desks, tables, countertops etc. Just make sure the vents are not being blocked like how it gets blocked while sitting on a bed and such. If you keep it clear it should not overheat.
i know that when you play cod, it barely overheats. it stays at a moderate temperature. for battlefield 4, it does heat up pretty damn hot (i play on ultra settings). but i find that when youre really into the game and focused on it, it dosent bother much.
VideoMadnezz It's slow, and at times unresponsive. Sometimes when you are too far in when attempting to right click, you left click. And it gets filthy fast, witch makes it even more unresponsive.
VideoMadnezz I don't know, I only have the one. But if that is what they put on this, I can't imagen anny pads on the cheaper ones will be anny better. :S
MRDEATHDRONE PT I'm getting the Ge70 for around 1250 USD... you can get it pretty good with i7 4700 clocked at 3.2 GHz on amazon... so not sure what's the point in getting Ge60
MRDEATHDRONE PT 15.6 inch is fine, but it's quite small compared to 17 inch, like you won't really see a difference but in the long run you will feel it. I personally would go with the Ge70 because the screen is bigger and more space for stuff (I wear glasses) I am on a 15.6 inch and tested the laptop today (17 inch) and I personally think it would be much better than the ge60, but it's up to you. My recommendation is go with the 17 inch though.
www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00IMTQ5I2/ref=gno_cart_title_0?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A2KYIV02F0JSJ6#productDetails This model of the GE70 only has 4 USB ports as said in the specifications. It also says this on NewEgg... Are these different models from the ones you have?
i want to buy the MSI GE60-2PC for a price of 999 europe € i5 8 gb ram gtx 850 should i buy it ? i need something for gaming /a little bit\ and entertainment + a good battery for something like +4 hours and under 1000 € can somebody help me ?
10:12 the warranty sticker disappears and is replaced with a screw hole. Is it void now?

Tell me why plz
Thanks for the sweet review, I will probably buy one of these from pccasegear here in Australia, for gaming and video editing purposes. Can't wait to buy this! :D

Great review.
Where is the air intake ventilation? or does it has one?
I really like your reviews and I've watched quite a few of them over the past couple of days, since I am looking to buy a new laptop. so is the Ge60 the smaller one or the bigger one ????? i plan to order either the two of them at bestbuy

Can you get the new multicolored back light keyboard software for the ge 60
I'm wondering that so far i didnt come across with gtx860m models are there any difference between 850m model and 860m model ?
Should review the heat and noise too while gaming not just the benchmarks
That would be very helpful...ty
MSI GE70 Apache Pro-012 17.3-Inch Laptop
this one right?
does the ge70 have a better airflow so it cooler because it is bigger ?

Not a bad comparison but your video is very slow and quite. Always avoid those silent situations.

do you have Australian power chords/ ac adapters
Quick question, GE70 or the asus G750jm?

do you guys give free shipping or charge for it?
The GE60 was the Apache Pro 003 correct?
yes, GE60/702PL APACHE PRO
i just bought the Ge70 one week ago and upgraded it to 16gb ram and 7200 rpm hdd

Anyone know if there is a higher capacity battery compatible with this laptop or where to get a backup 6 cell battery?
great review, thanks. definately getting GE70
Im thinking about getting the Gt 850m version. I play a lot of Battlefield 4 do you think that this laptop would fit my gaming needs?

So would the Lenovo Y510p be a better choice with 2x 755m
Robotic Pineapple Yea, it would be better. But still, an r9 m290x or GTX870m and GTX 860m are all a bit better though, a bit more expensive too.
Robotic Pineapple

MapleFlame4500 No, the y50 has the problem with heat aswell.
Can the GE60 play games like bf4 and call of duty at high settings reasonibly smooth? Please reply:)
Greg Thomas from the nvidia gtx860 yes it can high around 50-55fps but varies
Put BF4 on medium settings. Graphics will still look amazing at 55 fps
Do ''Chamleone cube cp70'' review please
i'm stuck between the ge60, medion erazer and the asus G551jk... all comes down to cooling i guess.
Is it possible to upgrade the ram to 16GB by replacing the memory sticks from the laptop?

It's about 4k here in Malaysia. Getting it around May.

Sehsay Minashe it will still heat when you play games even with cooling pad but it wont get overheat.

Permanent
Permanent and illuminated.

Byron Cai does it overheats if you play games lik CoD Advanced Warfare and Battlefield 4?
i know that when you play cod, it barely overheats. it stays at a moderate temperature. for battlefield 4, it does heat up pretty damn hot (i play on ultra settings). but i find that when youre really into the game and focused on it, it dosent bother much.
Byron Cai what is the highest temperature you got?

Håvard Rønstad
Why is that?
VideoMadnezz It's slow, and at times unresponsive. Sometimes when you are too far in when attempting to right click, you left click. And it gets filthy fast, witch makes it even more unresponsive.
Håvard Rønstad Do you think the (and cheaper) MSI GP60 series might be better?
VideoMadnezz I don't know, I only have the one. But if that is what they put on this, I can't imagen anny pads on the cheaper ones will be anny better. :S
Should I get a GE60 or GE70?
Ge 60 its newer and powerful 4th,genaration i7 baby!
MRDEATHDRONE PT I'm getting the Ge70 for around 1250 USD... you can get it pretty good with i7 4700 clocked at 3.2 GHz on amazon... so not sure what's the point in getting Ge60
Is 15.6 inches bad or good?
I will get it for 900 euros new
MRDEATHDRONE PT 15.6 inch is fine, but it's quite small compared to 17 inch, like you won't really see a difference but in the long run you will feel it. why always review the benchmarks
Why not the heat and noise while game is running...
The new fangbook from cyberpowerpc is cheaper and has the exact same specs as these.

Guys, if you're so fucking worried about a fan getting hot, just buy a freaking additional fanpad to have under your laptop. -_-
This is good Laptop
By now the last driver that works is from feb of 2016. No Titanfall, no BF1, no new games. Thx Trump and nVidia...
