Just ordered one - in black…it has just been passed on to the factory team. I know it’s only a small engine and it won’t be that fast (115 hbp) but it doesn’t matter. Speed limit in the UK is 70 mph anyway and I prefer comfort over anything else. Can’t wait to pick it up.
Great video Bob, I had a look at the UK pricing and spec on the Taigo and I can see it sitting between the T cross and T Roc but for a little more money I would go T Roc.
I like it - polo with a big boot, no Tcross yoghurt plastics inside. Old school ergonomics and a big knob or two. You’d be a knob to buy a Tcross although this v the new Peugeot 2008. Vive la France!
The noise in the cabin is from central console passanger side and another one from the boot, i got one taigo and was making me nuts 😂 but is esay fix, boot needs tight up both sides rubber screws and central console just some rubber under the plastic panel and thats it, now i love the Little car for shopping and drive around the town
I think i know how to cure the clicks Bob, on the centre console, near the back where its screwed on etc there are cap covers, these clicked and rattled in my new Golf R , took them off and no more noise
Hi Bob, thanks for your reviews and infos passed to us, I want you opinion on Citroen C5 2012, 1.6auto, I recently got it for my son as first car choice. At the budget of 5k I think is the best choice out there with lot of extras included. So Just wanted to know your opinion on this car, thnx and cheers
I thought that this might suit me but no we have a Nissan Qastqai 181 and we are thinking of changing next year, our last Nissan Qastqai was bought by the mechanic who actually serviced the vehicle every time it went in for service but I don't believe I have any interest in buying another Nissan as they are being built outside the EU now. I don't know what way to go if I'm honest about it as we have only 35000 kms done since we bought vehicle new in 2018 .would be interested in your views thank you
You summed it up brilliantly Bob, it’s not for anyone interested in driving or cars. This is the definition of a Eurobox washing machine. A manual handbrake for 31k! Creaking as well in a new car. Yet another forgettable crossover nobody asked for. No thanks VW!
Try driving it, the R-line 1,5 is actually very enjoyable. Downsides is tank size, no electric seats. Hand brake not being digital is actually preferable. There is no creaking in any of the models I tried
T-Cross is same segment as Arona and as for the Karoq, it’s the same segment as T-Roc. This is Arona size for sure but where it differs from the T-Cross is the coupé styling.
Volkswagen have let the side down with this. Over priced, cheap interior and bloody manual handbrake is ridiculous on a car of that price. Dsg gearbox is top notch as always 👍. I have Passat dsg and wouldn't change it for the world, good quality materials and feels more expensive than it is
Ironic, Bob: you ask us viewers for clicks yet (rightly) hate them in the car. 35k for a Polo derivative? I must be getting old? Another 15k and I would be sitting in an entry level Tesla Model 3. (with no issues about gear changes, either.)
To me it's a bit pointless. It's like when VW released the Golf Plus which was a golf only bigger and more pointless. It's too expensive too for what is. I think it'd be better with a manual gearbox also and a bigger engine, even the 1.5.
That's just not true. At motorway speeds that engine spins along at about 2500 rpm, completely unstressed. The weak point of cars with these engines is the clutch, plenty of reports of early failure.
@@bruts82 Can you point me to some evidence for that, and what in particular fails solely due to long motorway use? Having done 30k miles in two years in a 1.2 tonne Skoda Karoq which had the same engine and a 6 speed manual my only concern is for the clutch. The engine is fine, but it's very easy to slip and burn the clutch when pulling away from a junction. There are plenty of reports online of the same thing, even when the engine is fitted to smaller, lighter cars, but I can't find anything about premature engine failure. VW have used this engine since 2015 (and it's based on an older design) so there should be lots of information out there. I'd happily have a car with this engine again, but with a DSG next time.
@@PhineasPhlob it ll come up as engine management fault the ecu will protect the engine. It’s just not strong enough to pull on the motorway for sustained periods of time
@@BobFlavinVideo Oh! I loved the review!. I’m pointing to people’s negative comments on a product released by a multinational company that sells cars. Don’t be a hot head.
I've just bought a Tiago, hoping to receive it by end of August, and really enjoyed the driving experience in the test vehicle.
how’s it been?
A really enjoyable interesting & informative video well done, keep up the good work on your channel 👍👍
I drive a Taigo and just love the car.

Good review bob. You don't demo sit in the back seats any more bob would like so see rear seating room
Drove one very good car nippy cheap to run . Ordered one now with d s g very good
Prefer the looks of it compared to the Troc, like the rear light bar, one of the reasons I ordered the Leon ST.
Bob great reviews as always its like the x4 or x6 a model that was never needed but is there anyway 🤦♂️
Great video Bob, I had a look at the UK pricing and spec on the Taigo and I can see it sitting between the T cross and T Roc but for a little more money I would go T Roc.
Thanks for review your really good down to earth n honest with what u say...I agree I don't like touch screens
I think it looks good, I prefer it to the T Roc. The Polo based interior is just as good as the bigger cars.
But without a diesel. This is a no go.
@@nurleise7012 why not? Unless you do a million miles a year the 1.5 is very powerful and economical

Awful car
Sums up everything that is wrong with modern Volkswagens
how so?
Where was the inside, poor cup holders and no charging in the boot.
Cheaper for car manufacturers to integrate a/c, radio etc in a screen/infotainment vs mechanical knobs. Knobs it is.
Yet the prices of cars go up every year!
Knobs have become luxury items. Knobs...
We will tell our grandkids in the wastelands, how good we used to have it, we drove cars with knobs...

I almost expected Mrs brown to come around and say ehehhehe that's nice .....
VW answers another question nobody asked.
Nice city car run around for small journeys
Why don't the make a Diesel one can't understand it,
I’m surprised the r-line doesn’t have the digital temperature controls in Ireland
I read pointless car. But which car is pointless ?? Is Audi A4 pointless or Mercedes ?

35k km? Keep the car you have and just have it serviced. Should be good being 100k km.
7 litres per one hundred km that seems very heavy .my 2018 kia niro phev in hybrid mode does 4.7 litres per 100km and its a 1.6 litre engine
I don't know....... I think the yaris cross is nicer for the same price.
100 km/h on motorway - my preferred speed. What's the rush? ... Strange looking car.
Not everyone has the time to be slow and steady
@@BobFlavinVideo Point taken.
is it possible to make a Dacia Jogger review in your style? )
Save money and buy a Polo?
I've had mine for 3 weeks and happy with it. If there is a car to avoid it would be the T-Cross as that was good in size but not a smooth drive.

It looks like one of these obscure VW's that are sold in South American markets, but not in Europe. Not sure I see the point of it....
What on earth is this doing with an R badge on it?!
I just don’t see the point of this car. T-Cross and T-Roc cover the Polo and Golf crossover sizes. Who would buy this?
This one or T cross???
T-cross it’s better to drive and bigger overall.
So forgettable that the reviewer forgot to review the back of the car. Shame really!
Hard to think where the Tiago sits in VW’s line up. What’s to stop the consumer getting a similar Seat Arona or Skoda Karoq instead.
T-Cross is same segment as Arona and as for the Karoq, it’s the same segment as T-Roc. This is Arona size for sure but where it differs from the T-Cross is the coupé styling.
I feel like that this car was built by Renault not VW
Nice jacket, where did you get it , Army surplus ? Great review !
It's a Superdry jacket with a tiny logo 😘
That door shut petruding into the rear wheel arch is hideous, why couldnt they just cut around it.

It won’t have a long lifespan it’ll be like the Fox and Lupo short lived and forgotten about. May last longer in other markets.
Sarà l'auto più venduta in Italia taigo👍❤️💪
Can see Audi A2 being this
this car looks like a Ford Focus from a few years ago
Interesting car but I believe Renault is doing a better option.
Can't see the point of this car Bob, Renault captur seems a better car and cheaper.

Same old boring VW rubbish. Comprehensive review as always
Proper handbrake, twisty dials are the way forward VW listen!!!!!!! Also nobody wants keyless entry only criminals waiting to steal your car!
By the looks of it a car with a real identity crisis and yet another pointless category…SUV crossover coupe, what will be next 🤔
It’s a strange time because over 60% of the market is small SUV
Bob there’s a very short lifespan on those engines is their used on motorways more so than urban driving
