    Hi, I recently bought a Z800 and I want to share my experience.First
    all of to introduce my self, my name is Konstantinos, I'm 32 years old,
    Greek and I'm leaving in Cyprus. From 2008 Since March of 2016 I had a
    Suzuki V-Strom DL650 2007 model and made 72.000 kilometers with it. So
    I decided to complete change style. From January I started my research
    on many brands and models, narrowing my choices to MT07, CB650F, GSR750
    and Z800. From close I saw only the MT07 and the CB650F. The problem in
    Cyprus is that you have to imagine the bike you want to buy because the
    dealers don't have stock and if you want a bike is with order only and
    deposit. Also if you found a bike they don't do test drives. So I relied
    basically on web reviews and UA-cam.The MT07 felt on me
    very light and small comparing to the huge V-Strom. The CB650F had very
    poor quality materials. The GRS750 was about the same price with Z800
    and it was nowhere near on what Z800 was offering.So after
    all the reviews I read and watched and the specs I decided that the Z800
    was the most complete and well build middle range naked bike. My only
    concern was the weight as I was reading that it is a heavy bike. Anyway I
    finalized my decision and ordered it with closed eyes.Now
    time for my review. And what a bike... First to clear about the weight.
    NO problem at all. Actually is way lighter from what I had used to with
    the V-Strom. It has exactly the perfect weight I like to fill at the
    stop, at the road, at the mountains. The handling is amazing. I never
    felt the same confidence on a turn before. It fills like is on rails.
    The stopping power is excellent and the rear break is exactly what is
    needed to control the bike on breaking. The engine has a great amount of
    power. You can even go really slow with 6th gear on country side and
    speed up without down shifting. The stock exhaust is a sweet melody. The
    build quality fills that you get much more than you paid. I'm very
    pleased with my Z800 and I'm glad that I didn't choose any other bike. I
    definitely recommend this bike to everyone that wants a middle range
    naked. Just I would recommend to put the Kawasaki engine guards on as
    the engine is a little big and in case of drop would be damaged.Conclusion... Well done Kawasaki.

      I have recently bought a Z800 and have only put a little over a hundred miles on it due to weather, but I have to say every time I ride it I love it more. It's a fantastic bike.

    very strange comments about it not being "modern and cutting edge"???????......if this is not one of the most futuristic designs on the market ....then what is.......??????...by far the most frequent comment i get from other riders is how futuristic the bikes looks are!!!!!!.....what are you comparing it to?????

    • @zigwheels
      @zigwheels  10 років тому +1

      dmandhelen The Z1000, That bike has spoilt us a bit ;) On a serious note, The Z1000 has raised the bar on the styling front, and hence all we can see is the Z800 trying to catch up.

    • @baselpeterat2082
      @baselpeterat2082 9 років тому +1

      ***** The Z800's styling will not age as fast as the Z1000. Cutting Edge is a mixed blessing. Give me the 800 any time!

  • @dmandhelen
    @dmandhelen 10 років тому +3

    I know what you mean to a degree, but I think that this styling concept is being carried through the Z range...if you look at the new Z300 it's in a very similar vein... But I don't think for one minute is trying to be a Z1000......all three bikes are Z's .. So they must carry a central styling theme whilst being different ... But they are all in their own right extremely cutting edge... I constantly get that my Nike looks like a "transformer "... It's a very futuristic design indeed.... Especially when compared to other bikes in the class like the Street Triple and the FZ8...or even the MV Brutale...( not including the dragster of course:-)..)...Thank you for you reply by the way...:-))

      Hi there I've had the bike for 12 months now and done 16000 kms on it ... I would recommend this bike to anyone .. It does help if your legs are a bit longer because the seat is quite high... I think it will be perfect for you ....

      dmandhelen is this like other kawazaki 's like the er6-n where you must counter steer otherwise the bike doesn't move? I own an Mt-07 which is 40bhp under and around 40KG lighter. I didn't like the er6-n because it requires too much work to drive it without excelling in anything and I can't test drive the z800 because there isn't any available. How is it to flick around corners? Can you change directions without feeling unsecure about the pressure on the tyres and suspension? Thanks

    • @dmandhelen
      @dmandhelen 9 років тому +2

      ChinoisMc To be honest the bike only feels heavy when at a stop or pushing it around.When its on the move its very flickable and feels much lighter...great bike for the twisties....feels much lighter than it is,but feels surefooted and solid... i can't think of any reason to dislike this bike at all...!!!!!hope this helps ..

    I'm around 5'6 - 5'7 inseam around 30, body weight around 130-140lbs would this bike be too big for me? will I be able to put my foot comfortably down with confident of not dropping the bike whilst stopping?

    • @argalord
      @argalord 9 років тому +1

      You won't be able to put ALL the foot down but i think you could handle it...you really can feel the weight at low speeds!

    • @zigwheels
      @zigwheels  9 років тому

      Srib Yes, you will be able to put your foot down. So, in terms of size,no problem. Weight however is something you need to consider because the Z800 weighs more than 200kg.

      I'm 5'8 and have absolutely no problem with this bike what so ever. I've owned different types of motorcycles such as cruisers, sport bikes, and even motocross bikes. I've had different makes of bikes such as Honda, Yamaha, Harley Davidson, and Suzuki. For me, this bike by far is absolutely the most fun to ride.
      This video is so negative on a motorcycle that has been proven to be a great bike with many fans. It was 1st introduced in 2013 in Europe and it did great in it's market.
      I would give you this advice if you're still looking into getting this bike. Do your research. Don't let one negative video deter you from getting something that you may in fact fall in love with. After all, it doesn't matter what ANYONE says or thinks about the kind of bike you want. The important thing is to love to ride, and ride what you love. We are all bikers and have the same fundamental love for riding on 2 wheels, whether you're on a cruiser or sportie. Just find what you like and go for it!!

  • @ArjunRathoreSingh
    @ArjunRathoreSingh 9 років тому

    Hi, in the review you did say that it isn't the best that money can buy for 8 lakhs and there about, the question then is, which street bike would be perfect for around the same price. Also the triumph street triple doesn't create the same power as the z800 as if i am not wrong it has a power of 79.3 ps at 11054 which is considerably lower so what makes a triumph street triple a better bike?? If i might be so bold to say the ducati 795 seems to be better than the street triple as it has more power. Do let me know your thoughts, hoping to hear from you soon.

    • @zigwheels
      @zigwheels  9 років тому +4

      Arjun Rathore The Street Triple on our opinion is you best street naked you can buy in this class. Yes, it doesn't make as much power and to be honest, it can't match the Z800's creamy, seamless and effortless throttle response either. But, if you want a bike to ride to work everyday or to ride to the coffee place in the evening or even tour on, it just makes better sense for it is lighter, better balanced and just easier to live with.

    hi,nice review! im at 5'5" height, i know z800 is kinda tall for me...so this my question, if i put a lowering links kit in it, can i seat properly on the bike? thanks...

    • @alial-barack6070
      @alial-barack6070 9 років тому +1

      +gwain rea I am 5'5" too, so Im tackling this one lol. I owned a ZX10r and its seat hight was 32.0in, so I had to lower it 1 inch from both rear and front suspension and I handled it for more than a year. Usually if I extended my two feet to touch the ground, then ill be on my tip-toes. however if I extended only one foot and slightly leaned the bike more to that foot side, then it was all good to go.
      Now this bike is 0.8in taller than ZX10r. So you might need to lower it a lil and you should be good to go.

      @@kasianmarszalek3997 Hell no. I bought the z800 as my first bike and it was much easier than I thought to control it, even at like 4-5 km/h. The throttle is very smooth so you never get scared of the torque unless you are an idiot with the throttle.

      +Andre Boitchenco The Z1000 is better it has better power and torque but lacks ABS and its younger sibling the Z800 lacks a bit of power but covers it up with ABS. Looks are appropriate how a street naked should be. They are both good on their own terms.
